Man Reports Own Parking Violation, Gets Arrested

Man Reports Own Parking Violation to Connecticut Police Gets ArrestedSHELTON, Conn. (The Blaze/AP) — A Connecticut man was so upset about the lack of parking enforcement in his town that he parked his car illegally in a handicapped space and called police over a dozen times. When they showed up, they subdued him with a stun gun and arrested him.

Shelton police say they had to use the stun gun on Michael Andes Thursday morning after he became combative and screamed at officers that they weren’t doing their job. He was charged with breach of peace, interfering with an officer and was given a parking ticket.

Authorities say Andes first called police at 2 a.m. and yelled at a dispatcher.

Andes posted $1,000 bail and is due in court Sept. 6. There’s no phone listing for Andes. It’s unclear if he has a lawyer.

I feel very sorry for the man. There is something very tragic here. I hope the court orders a mental health evaluation. There is no room for laughter, this article is very unsettling.

Wow…thats it? Just TASER ? I‘m surprised the thugs didn’t beat the crap out of him before they did the cavity search..you know the search the TSA does on little kids and old people. The lawless thugs ( this case being the law) are out of control with their toys of submission.

cabnetdude, ask your hamlet/town/city to disband its police force. it’ll be great. You will get to pay less taxes to your local government that keeps these thugs on the streets and everyone can just brandish their own forms of street justice when such a step is warranted.

Some people plan and execute, according to that plan, a homicide.
Then get exonerated by way of a declaration,by the court,of insanity.
    IMO that is insane.

This guy, though,I would have to agree, needs to be let off the charge if he will promise to get some professional mental help!!!!

If he had parked a few blocks away, the walk back would have done his mental state some good.

The government needs to provide parking attendant professionals in each area of all towns where parking becomes crowded at any time during the week or month. Then as tax paying citizens need to stop in an area they can use their mobile communications device (which will be provided to citizens who otherwise don‘t’ own a mobile communications device ) to contact one of the parking attendant professionals in that area and their car will be parked for them.

Yeah sure. Make a joke out of this. Can‘t you tell that the look on the guy’s face indicates a person who is deeply disturbed. Being so is no joke. From the looks of him, his soul is screaming for help! Mayhap there are many people feeling like this man. Think about it. These are very trying times we live in. I’m surprised any of us still have any sanity left! Please join me in saying a prayer for Michael Andes. How awful for him to end up with his photo blasted on the Internet!

yes you can make jokes and ridicule him, but I have two family members disabled and do have difficulty walking from the end of the parking lot because of wheel chair access needing extra room to take him out of his vehicle. Handicap access parking has this extra space for this. I can not say the times someone just walks out and hops into their vehicle, no handicap sticker, hanger or license plate. It is such rude behavior to just park there or use someone elses handicap access just not to walk a little farther. I understand his anger… I have called the police, no response to action, and even waited for someone to come out.. It is like the people with 30 items in the 10 or 15 items or less speed line in a grocery store. So rude behavior. I have been sworn at because I said “just to let you know that myself and those behind us can count above 10”. Home training, lack of respect for others is really gone.. Yes, it does make you angry.. Children (and adults) without established limits of behavior. Take what you can, get what you can and it is ok unless you get caught, then yell at who knows, call racist and it is still not your fault. Nothing is your fault….. but it is!

WTF–do you read the article above? Where did you get the police “called them out”–in quotes, no less. This guy called the police at 2AM!!! For pete’s sake on a PARKING COMPLAINT! I was a cop for 22 years and you don’t even think about a bone-head who parked in a handicap zone at that time in the morning. Really–you really think the cops are at fault for this? All this guy did was waste tax payer’s money. I notice he didn’t do it during daylight hours when he would have been confronted by more then just the cops.

      EJ–get a life.
