Man Strips Down Naked and Makes Advances at 3-Year-Old Girl — and Cops Say ‘Bath Salts’ Could be Responsible

Police Say Bath Salts May Be to Blame for Man Stripping Naked and Making Sexual Advances at 3 Year Old Girl in Playground

The drug known as “bath salts” may be to blame for yet another disturbing attack in Miami. No face-eating this time, but police say a man believed to be high on the drug stripped off his clothes at a playground last week and made sexual advances at a 3-year-old girl.

Miami police say surveillance footage shows 40-year-old Shane Shuyler stripping down in the “tot lot” and coming toward the girl, WFOR-TV reported. The girl’s mother said she and her daughter had been entering the playground when she saw him lying naked on a park bench with his genitals exposed.

According to the police report, the mother said she tried to walk past the man but he stood up and approached the them, reportedly saying, “Come here little girl, I want to stick it in you.”

Miami police say this surveillance footage shows a naked Shane Schuyler on the left approaching a woman and her 3-year-old daughter at a playground. (Image source: WFOR-TV)

According to WTVJ-TV, the woman and her daughter ran home, but she saw the man later going by on a bicycle. A neighbor recognized him and alerted police, who arrested and booked him on three counts of lewd or lascivious exhibition on a child and one count of lewd and lascivious conduct on a child.

A detective during Shuyler’s court appearance Friday said his behavior could be explained by bath salts, which can produce crazed, psychotic behavior and also raise the body’s core temperature, prompting the user to remove all of their clothing in an attempt to cool off.

“In his wallet was what appears to be bath salts,” the detective, according to WFOR. “Upon talking to him, he made some statements to me which led me to believe that he was cooling off in the fountain by the tot lot because he was hot; which is consistent with ingesting bath salts.”

According to WFOR, the judge in the case ordered Shuyler to undergo a psychiatric evaluation at an area hospital. The hospital told the station they do not currently have a patient by that name, suggesting Shuyler is, at least for the time being, back in the community.

This means people like me who actually use bath slts for their intended purpose won’t be able to buy them anymore. Just like we can’t buy cold medicine or diet pills that work. I guess I better stock up now.

      is that comment tongue-in-cheek?

They are not talking about actual bath salts. Bath salts are the street name for the drug – which seems to be different mixtures of legal chemicals. The government has a tough time outlawing the “bath salts” because the makers simply change the formulas once a law is passed.

This one comes back to personal responsibility – inform the teens around you about the dangers and examples of these legal drugs.

These aren’t really “bath salts” and were never intended to be used as bath salts. They were created to be as close to meth as possible without being close enough to be illegal, and then they made up a name of something else to sell them under. Just like “spice” isn’t really spice, and making it illegal does not make all spices illegal. It looks like salt, so they pretend it is a bath salt. But that was never the intended purpose. Why do you think they only sell them in head shops, and not in boutiques and the like?

Nah! Bath salts aren’t to blame for every ill in the world.

There’s also “the failed policies of the Bush Administration” and “economic headwinds” like the Japanese tsunami, the Arab spring, the Eurozone, and ATM’s.

This one is old. Apparently since you’re having a hard time understanding this began with teenagers buying & taking this junk. Now the word has got out this is a cheap high disguised as bath salts. It actually is a mix of chemicals put into a bath tub similiar to how they made LSD back in the 60′s. Hence the name bath salts. I was tongue & cheek in my remarks about removing them off the shelves. Kids are getting a hold of it & we’ve seen some cases in our local suburb about kids being arrested doing very odd things attributed to this.

The end is coming as they reach for more and more elaborate, cheap and accessible highs. This will only spiral out of control if marijuana is legalized as I believe half of its draw is the whole “breaking the law” feeling they get.

In Russia they have their own problem by way of a drug called “krokodil”, which makes bath salts tame in comparison as far as the damage to the body goes…yet it is on the rise. Here is a video regarding it if you have the stomach…the young girl at the end chose her path, but it breaks your heart nonetheless:

Actually, I think you’ve got it in reverse; legalize marijuana and we’ll stop getting legal “research chemcials” like bath salts to come. For example, the legal cannabinoids of the JHW-XXX series found in “K2” and “Spice” has put people in the hospital (some in the graves) and produced inferior highs… the ONLY advantage it had over real cannabis, is the legal status. Even now, as previous versions of K2 and Spice are banned, drug chemists just use some of the thousands of other still-legal cannabinoids in their latest blends, with completely unknown toxicological effects in humans. True cannabis is non-toxic, but illegal… legalize it, and people still stop hurting/killing themselves with JHWs.

Bath Salts is likewise, just the legal version of a methamphetamine/cocaine blend; legal status being its only redeeming quality; kills and troubles users/addicts far worse. Krokodil too, obviously far worse than the heroin it’s replacing in Russia, is cheap and easy to make from legal over-the-counter Codeine tablets.

Prohibition is a (losing) war against the human mind, as it has the natural desire to want to explore altered states of consciousness. It can only succeed in making sure people have their lives ruined by the criminal justice system by using “safer” drugs to do that exploration, or to make sure they poison themselves using legal substances… but humans will and always have, done whatever it takes to get “high” one way or another.

Make it an age requirement or something like spray paint. Pour some epsom in your bath. Add a little lavender. It’s obviously becoming a craze. It is not regular old-fashioned bath salts. It is something with a long chemical name, a designer drug, that you can buy in a smoke shop or mini mart. Some states have outlawed it.

Kinda like salvia. It is outlawed to sell in stores in some states. But bath salts is worse because it makes you psychotic.

Understand your point, but don‘t you think it’s time to come own very hard on these people that feel free to ruin the quality of life of others? All the time you hear things like Zimmerman should have stayed in his car (why exactly didn’t he have as much right to be on the street?), she should have reversed course, do not go out at night, do not go to that neighborhood, etc. etc. When will people have had enough and take our streets and communities back? Or are there not enough people left that care and are willing to stand up to the thugs and get laws passed with teeth and consequences.
