Man Takes Down Flag With Obama’s Face After Neighbor Outrage

A South Jersey man who ignited rage among his neighbors for flying an American flag featuring President Barack Obama’s face instead of the stars has taken it down.
He’s replaced it with two flags, one with the traditional stars and stripes and another with a picture of the president, Philadelphia CBS affiliate KYW-TV reported.
Wes Kennedy of the Acacia housing development in Lumberton, N.J. told the station he didn’t even know some of his neighbors were angry about the flag until he started getting calls from news reporters.
“If someone had come to me in the beginning, I would have said, ‘Let’s sit down and talk to see what we might reasonably come up with as a solution,’” Kennedy told the station.
He said he hopes his fix will be enough to satisfy his neighbors, but said he’s not sure.
“In Acacia, there are some angry, maybe even evil-minded people about Obama,” he said.
The same flag design caused a stir last month in Florida when veterans spotted it flying above a local Democratic Party headquarters.

It represents the nation that have killed hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians throuhout the decade long war in the middle east. It also represents the current administration.
The flag doesn‘t just represent the GOOD that our nation stands for but also the bad that we’ve done or are doing.
The fact remains, it is a piece of cloth. I would much rather protect the freedom the symbol represents than the symbol itself by the destruction of said freedom….

If there is an HOA, you can try to enforce a rule that way, but do not pretend you have the right to steal and burn somebody else’s property just because you disagree with them. You could also buy your own copy of this flag, and burn that in effigy. Find a good way to protest without infringing on somebody else’s right to free speech.

The key is to follow the Constitution. The second you break away from following it, it gives them the ability to break it as well. If we follow the Constitution to the letter, the Communist / Marxist can’t change America! But if you give into bending the Constitution based on your emotionally charged hatred for this man, for Obama or for liberals in general, you give them the ammunition to continue more change.
If you don’t allow yourself to bend or break the Constitution, you have something to stand on to prevent them from bending or breaking the Constitution. But if you bend or break the Constitution, regardless of how beneficial the end result is, you are, in fact, setting them up to bend or break it themselves.
Freedom. Liberty. Private Property is key to maintaining both of those things. The first step towards taking away you freedom is by getting rid of private ownership. The second you stop respecting private ownership, you become no better then they are.

If you burn somebody else’s flag, that would constitute theft, vandalism, and a violation of their Constitutional Rights to Free Speech. Now I do not like the idea that this man did this. But his reaction is one I admire. He is correct in that his neighbors should have approached him first. His statement is one I appreciate even though I deeply disagree with his politics.
His statement… “In Acacia, there are some angry, maybe even evil-minded people about Obama,” is probably correct. Except I might change that to…. In America, there are some angry, evil-minded people to which Obama is king.

Somehow I suspect the only solution he would agree to is one where he continues to fly that disgrace of a flag. This is shown by his own solution, posting another actual flag along with this abomination.
Really, there’s only one way that discussion should go: take down that disgrace to the flag or I will do it for you. That’s all there is to be said.

It makes me sad to think of what Obama could have really been; a president all of America looked up to. He should have been a role model and an example of how anyone of any race or color can rise to the top. He has turned out to be an embarrassment to the nation, he has no idea how to lead or inspire, and despite of all his lies, mistruths, manipulation, and unbelievable behavior, Americans, including many of the ones that voted for him in 08, will quietly go into the booth this November to remove the disappointment and correct the mistake.
