A Louisa County, Va., man was arrested Monday on charges he was “trespassing, resisting arrest and creating a public disturbance” during a campaign stop for Republican House Whip Eric Cantor at a local coffee shop, reports the Richmond Times Dispatch.
Jon Taylor, a Democrat, complained that he was “manhandled” by local police authorities after he refused to leave the coffee shop at the owner’s request. It’s unclear why the shop owner asked Taylor and three others to leave the property, though the local press reports the group had signs calling Cantor a chicken for refusing to debate his Democrat opponent, Rick Waugh. Taylor, a Waugh supporter, said he had RSVP‘d online for the Cantor event and assumed it was a public event.
When the shop owner asked Taylor to leave, he refused, prompting the local police authorities to escort him out. A video of an ensuing skirmish was captured on a cell-phone video shot by his son and shows Taylor being wrestled to the ground after he appears to resist arrest.
(Warning: some mature language — viewer discretion is advised)
Though Cantor reportedly arrived at the coffee shop after the disturbance happened, liberal bloggers have seized on the internet video as an example of “GOP thuggery.”
The Cantor camp simultaneously linked its Democratic opposition to the incident. “This is a pattern with Rick Waugh of disruptive and frankly thuggish behavior,” said Cantor spokesman Ray Allen, Jr. “And frankly, he needs to get control of his campaign.”
The Waugh campaign said it had nothing to do with the disturbance and does not condone such activity.
Taylor claims the local police department was “used by Eric Cantor’s campaign to make a political statement.” But the the Louisa County police department has denied the charge and said that two other people asked to leave left without having to be restrained.

Posted on October 27, 2010 at 8:59pmIf the cops at the Rand Paul event were on top of things,(pun intended), like these guys, it would have turned out the way this did. Without concerned citizens having to get involved and get in trouble. People tried to get the cops involved with that nutcase but the cops blew them off.
You guys quit making fun of that BIG police officer!! THAT’S the guy I want on my side when it hits the fan.
Let me see………….Would I rather have a 300lb cop slam dunk me to the pavement and jump on me?………………….Or would I rather be gently lowered to the ground and held there while someone nudged me on the SHOULDER with their foot?………Now let me think a minute……………….

I think that is another one of those politically correct words…when did it become ok for a “mature” person to speak such vulgar language and we call it “mature language”, as if it is okay for all of us to listen too, yet we are told not to speak about the Lord or pray in public places…yet it is fine to use the Lord’s name in vain and any other vulgar language.
I ask, Can we legislate morality? The radical socialist, marxist, communist regimes would say, “NO”. Then how come they are legislating immorality?

Posted on October 27, 2010 at 7:11pmThe owner has every right to ask someone to leave his place of business without giving a reason. It is private property. When he didn’t comply with the owner wishes, he now was trespassing, and when the cops were called they did their jobs. It’s hard to say how much he was resisting, I didn’t see his arms flaying when his son decided to capture the police restraining his father. Hard to tell because there is no before footage to go on but I’m sure a lawsuit will be filed on behalf of the coffee shop agitator. Just shows you, tempers are wearing thin.

Partisanship knows no bounds for family, though, and the kid was probably prepped to film it all for political gain. This was my initial take too. When the Big sites first came online there was a big battle to squelch obvious leftist trolls seeking to make Breitbart’s commenters look racist.
It’s a losing battle, compounded by actual bigots on the right.
These two are definitely regular contributors and were not taken out of context.
Schultz makes me physically ill, and it makes me furious that he’s stooped to harvesting comments for news.

Now get this MAINSTREAM media. ANY NEWS ORG THAT QUOTES POSTS FROM THE INTERNET IS 100% AMATEUR. That includes CNN and their live tweets et al. The reason is this – you cannot possibly tell a real poster from a troll on any Internet site. You assume people are being honest, but it could be Axelrod pretending to be William Sapphire and you wouldn’t know the difference. ******* IDIOT reporters.
I have never and will never respect ANY reporter or station (CNN? you listening) that thinks “Tweets” are news. The same goes for posts in any web site, even the Blaze.
Man – the havoc I could wreak with CNN if I wanted to (hmm, maybe I will – except Sanchez is gone and he was the biggest TWIT-ter there).

Posted on October 27, 2010 at 7:03pmIf it was a private event and the shop owner asked Mr Taylor to leave, and not Mr Cantor’s staff or himself, then the owner of the shop is well within the rights to ask the four men to do so. There is for now still such a thing as private property, and that a business owner may ask a person causing any kind of disturbance or tresspassing to leave and call police if they refuse to do so.
Of course the Progressives will claim the usual GOP Thuggery.
