Manhattan Murder: Castrated Journalist Found in Times Square Hotel

A Portuguese journalist was found dead inside a room of a posh New York hotel Friday evening, the New York Daily News reports.

The body of Carlos Antonio De Castro, 65, was discovered naked and lying in a pool of blood inside his 34th-floor room at the Intercontinental New York Times Square at about 7 p.m. According to police sources, the victim had suffered “massive trauma to the head and his scrotum was cut off,” the Daily News notes.
The NYPD is reportedly searching for Renato Seabra, a male 20-something model who checked into the Hotel with De Castro on Dec. 29. A witness staying just two doors down from the grisly murder scene said the two had been arguing before Seabra left.
“There was a lot of noise, talking,” Suzanne Divilly said. “You could hear them arguing in the corridor and even in our room. We didn’t think anything of it, because it was none of our business.”

Posted on January 8, 2011 at 9:41amYea but NYC has some of the most strict gun and crime control laws so it should be “safe enough” for anybody. They‘re a virtual ’GUN FREE ZONE‘ so criminals just can’t use guns.
I think they should now ban knives and create a few volumes of anti-knife laws, print up a few thousand “KNIFE FREE ZONE” signs and place them all about the city. It would have definitely kept this from happening, there’s absolutely no doubt in my mind.
