Marco Rubio Endorses Mitt Romney

WASHINGTON (AP) — Republican Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida endorsed Mitt Romney as the party’s presidential nominee Wednesday night, saying it’s increasingly clear that Romney will win the nomination and that continuing the primary fight will only damage the effort to defeat President Barack Obama.

Rubio, a freshman senator and tea party favorite, said he’s convinced that Romney will govern as a conservative and will be superior to Obama as a president.

“The quicker we can get this campaign on that focus — focused on the president’s record, on the alternative that we offer — the better off we‘re going to be as a movement but also the better off the country’s going to be,” Rubio said during an interview with Fox News.

Rubio had pledged to stay neutral in the race. On Wednesday he called a floor fight over the nomination at the party convention in August “a recipe to deliver four more years to Barack Obama.”

Rubio’s endorsement followed that of former Florida Gov. Jeff Bush and came a day before former President George H.W. Bush was to back Romney, another sign that more and more party leaders are falling in line behind Romney rather than support rivals Rick Santorum, Newt Gingrich or Ron Paul. Gingrich has scaled back his campaign, saying he wants to focus on winning the nomination at the convention if Romney fails to win enough delegates during the primary race.

Rubio has been mentioned as a potential running mate on the GOP ticket. He told Fox News that his heart, mind and focus remain on the Senate and that he doubts he would be asked to join a Romney ticket.

Besides, if you truely wanted a stronger candidate – then you should WANT romney to win this fair and square, without the help of the establishment. Dont you know that when someone achieves without welfare, they are better off in the long-run? I know that concept is too much for liberals and progressives to understand. Against obama, you need a candidate who has been strengthened through the fire

“While complimentary of the other GOP candidates, the Florida Republican says he’s convinced that Romney will govern as a conservative and will be head and shoulders above Obama as a president.”

If by “conservative” he means “Right-Wing statist”, then sure.

Romney is NOT a Constitutionalist, he’s for big government.

      Also, he’s a Keynesian, having considered a VAT Tax and supports automatic hikes in the Minimum Wage;

Obama has set a ticking economic time bomb for whoever takes office next. If the correction is allowed to take place under Romney, HE WON’T HAVE A CLUE about what to say about the job losses that will come from the restructuring of all the malinvested resources, since he doesn’t understand that government intervention caused the crisis in the first place.

Romney, in spite of his business prowess, will seem to have discredited the free market, and the Marxists will ignorantly shout “See? The Repubs got a hold of the economy and tanked it, again!”

Romney will be a disaster for the country.

News flash. Rubio and West are PANDERERS. They tell you what you want to hear to get your vote and then submit to the will of the progressive republican establishment. Look at their voting record for Christ’s sake. Patriot act? Debt ceiling increase? Please tell me which of those votes are vote for smaller government. Better yet which ones are really “conservative” . Once again you have all been played for fools. There was only one choice for real change, real smaller government, and a real return to constitutionality. And you blew it. You fell for the false evangelist or the pretty boy for New England telling you the same old lies that we have been hearing for a hundred years. Now what are you going to do to fix it? And if you say “WHATEVER AS LONG AS WE GET OBAMA OUT OF OFFICE WE WINNNNNN” then the war is already lost.

(He forgets that when the stage was all his, after S.C. he totally blew the debate) It takes more than brains , NEWT.. the way you’ve lived your life counts for 1/3 let’s say; experience another 1/3; and love of America the last 1/3. Romney has all of those. Santorum got started too late and while he’s a great family guy…he did lose big time in PA and the way to undo that is to run for GOV. or Senate again and WIN. Right now he must get behind ROMNEY. Time is up. Romney will not disappoint. He has been “holding back” his fire power and has plenty of it. Once or twice in the debates I got a glimpse of it… You’ll like it. I LOVE MARCO RUBIO… HE can deliver barn-burners like you‘ve never heard and he’s an AMERICAN through and through!!

@SychinLegacy – You have a nice lengthy post but you are arguing off point – Rubio said he does not want VP and Mitt said he is not settlled on who it is as well. The subject of thre article is he endorses Mitt and whether that was a good thing at this point. Yes we know candidates fool us sometimes, but it is foolish to speculate about what may not be.

@A Doctors Labor Is Not My Right
Look at Patty Henry for a well written and supported exercise on why we should support Mitt. Her use of supporting materials is logical truthful and well thought out. In comparison, her paragraph is much stronger than yours without actually citing any websites as proof, but citing the general public for getting to know these candidates. Since Mitt Romney Has lived as a small business Conservative, he does not need to talk about it, except in describing that he lives it. I hate to say it because you look like you have tried really hard here, but the rest of what you are trying to get across looks like a train wreck. Look …Mitt graduated in the top of his class at Harvard, the #1 Law school in all of America and with 2 Degrees – not 1- a Law degree and a Business degree. As one of his colleagues has described him “He’s wicked smart”. I think you are seriously discrediting him also with biased websites – if you really want to know Mitt , Get your info from http://www.mittromney.com, or http://www.whyromney.com. So I don’t worry, I feel pretty good about his turnaround capabil

Santorum’s economic plan consists not of cutting the size of government but just redirecting its power. Don’t believe me? Just look at his proposals. His one real plan for the economy is to give favoritism to manufacturing and increase taxes on imports. In other words, he doesn’t disagree with Obama that government should be picking winners and losers, he just disagrees with Obama’s choices of winners and losers. Santorum talks a lot about rolling back entitlements and cutting spending and taxes but just look at his record and his actual proposals. He is awful on the economy. He’s been the worst candidate on the economy since the whole primary season began. Romney, Gingrich, Perry, Cain, Hunstman, Paul, Bachmann…etc, all have better records and plans than he does on the economy.

However, we have MASSIVE debt, $1 Trillion budget deficits, unconstitutional wars, government destroying civil liberty, constitution is shredded, federal government involved in everything we do, and talk about a one world government.

Now is not the time for Mr. Nice guy. We HAVE to have a guy with solid principles based on the founders, the constitution, the nature of government, and the guts to make hard decisions. From what i have seen, Romney has none of those traits

My feeling about Rubio: he literally does not know what he is doing, because he literally does not know how to be sincere. Life is a series of pointless, semi-agreeable, almost-okay poses to him, a series of tasks and sufferings, with plenty of duties, with nothing really real. He is disconnected from life, and as a result he is melancholy, weary, and resigned. And I have not found a melancholy, weary, resigned person yet who is sincere. Wake up, and you’re blissfully happy. He hasn’t woken up.

Yeah, he knows how to fake being sincere. What a beautiful talent in a politician…

Sure, he’s accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior or something like that, and he has a beautiful family, but if he doesn’t know how to be sincere, how much is anything worth to him?

I pity him. Poor beautiful boy. I don’t admire him.

Voting for Romney isnt much different than voting for Obama.

Both have budgets that cut no money from current spending levels.
Both support or signed the NDAA.
      Both have been pro choice.
Both have are pro gun laws.
Both are for non declared wars.
      Both are for foreign aid.
      Both are pro bailout.
      Both believe in global warming.
Both want to keep us in the UN.
Romney created Romneycare the model for Obamacare.

What can Romney even go after Obama on?

Oil? Well I would say yes to this but, we have had a progressive GOP in office with a GOP house and Senate with zero results.

Does anyone think we can honestly sustain the path we have been on for the past 100 years. Has anything changed from Bush Sr. to Clinton to Bush Jr. to Obama? We keep going into wars, the spending increases, the debt rises, and they continue to take our freedoms away for our own good/so they can control us.

WAKE UP!!!!! This is our last election before the Obama dictatorship begins. If we dont get this one right, we are done. BROKERED CONVENTION 2012!!!!!!!!

We could have skipped the debates because we knew Romney would win all along. Santorum still has a chance, but it’s more likely that you or I would win the lottery. Secondly Mitt has not been running for president since 06 – ridiculous. When he bowed out to Mccain in 08 he actually campaigned for him afterwards, and has been all over the country helping other republicans with state campaigns and such, but only after Anne, his wife, at this time last year suggested he get into the race again, that he did so.
Thirdly – He is known as an extremely hard worker and it was said by the embedded reporters that they cannot keep up with him. If the other candidates worked as hard as Mitt, they too would have campaign funds and meet all the ballot requirements as well. You are just whining like Santorum, who by the way IS THE ONE ASKING THE DEMOCRATS AND UNIONS TO VOTE FOR HIM. So don’t talk to us about thuggery and villainy. Mitt said I will tell the truth about their failures , but they will spin lies about my success.

Try – http://www.whyromney.com or Tom Stemberg, colleague at Bain – http://video.foxnews.com/v/1393943163001/did-mitt-romney-create-jobs-at-bain-capital hundreds more but this may overwhelm you.
4.) Stuttering is no indication he will perform poorly as president. Jay leno asked serious questions Tuesday eve – home runs again. Beck is mormon – will look bad for Beck if he supports him. The rest of your argument on its’ face is also poor as well.
And if my dog had your face, I‘d shave its’ butt and teach it to walk backwards.

      Everything is a disaster!

Its just a question of to which degree do you want the disaster to continue occurring.

America is in deep trouble no matter what happens or who gets elected.

If Obamacare were gone and Santorum was the party’s standard bearer, it would be an Obama cake walk. Santorum is weak on every issue except this one. If Romney’s the nominee, he can attack the president on the issue of government overreach, including Obamacare. People have not understood Romney’s support for a state version of Obamacare, and it’s his biggest liability, but in fact his argument is the most principled from a Constitutional perspective. When he told Obama to follow the Massachusetts model, he wasn’t saying do the same thing at the federal level, he was saying let the states decide how to address health care concerns. He clearly knows the law is unconstitutional because it is an overreach of the federal government, exercising powers the Constitution did not grant, even with the major contortion of the commerce clause.

The Republicans apparently can’t see that people are waking up to the joke of our 2 party system. It‘s hard for them to accept that many aren’t going to fall for the “lesser of 2 evils” game anymore. You see, it’s like a relay race, they are all on the same team, some are just running a little faster toward the precipice. Obama will either keep on running, or pass the baton to Romney, but the race toward the destruction of our nation will continue as planned.

I agree, anybody who could vote for NDAA is obviously an enemy to Liberty! Anybody who thinks a politician that voted for that nightmare actually believes in individual rights and the constitution is a brain-dead sheep on life support. Romney openly endorsed it on a national stage and it doesn’t get much worse than that.
