Martin Bashir: Herman Cain Should Resign From His Church Over Affair Allegations

Ahead of presidential candidate Herman Cain’s expected major announcement Saturday on the future of his campaign, MSNBC host Martin Bashir said not only should Cain quit the GOP race over allegations of a 13-year extramarital affair — he should resign from his church as well.
“If Mr. Cain is to drop out of the Republican race, isn’t it time he consider resigning his position as an associate minister at Antioch Baptist Church in Atlanta?” Bashir said on his show Friday. “If Herman Cain is proven to be lying and drops out of the race, doesn’t that also disqualify him from holding a position in the local church?”
Cain’s church is part of the National Baptist Convention of the U.S., the second largest in the Baptist union. Bashir read part of their statement of faith: “Nothing prevents the salvation of the greatest sinner on earth, but his own determined depravity and voluntary rejection of the gospel.”
“If Mr. Cain withdraws from politics, then he must surely resign his position in the Church because one thing’s for certain: Hypocrites can lie in the pew but should never lead from the pulpit,” Bashir said.
Watch the clip below, via MSNBC:
Cain has been a frequent target of disparaging comments on Bashir’s show: Last month, left-wing author and MSNBC contributor Touré said Cain’s “predatory black sexuality” was “very frightening in this country” and another analyst referred to Cain as “a black man who knows his place.” Bashir himself has jumped in, asking a guest in October whether they thought “Herman Cain can spell the word ‘Iraq?’”

Posted on December 3, 2011 at 1:47pmMartin Bashir less than nothing to offer in reporting, analysis or prediction.
I don’t know what Cain did or did not do. My primary two reasons to vote for him are tax simplification / fair tax & taking away the race card from war mongering Demoncats.
Another reason is that he has one he11 of an education. He has a B.S. in Mathematics & a M.S. in Computer Science. There is a saying “The less you know about something the easier you think it is to make it work”. It has been put a little more succinctly by other people. Consider AL Gore who received D & C in science. He thinks that he can advance technology at a certain rate just because he deems it feasible. We have too many lawyers on Congress and not enough doctors, engineers economists & farmers. As people say the law is an a $$. I know of too any people that worship the concept of judicial precedent & think of it as infallible. Well if that is true, then blacks should still be slaves according to those people who believe that the engage in critical thinking but actually don’t. So I like a candidate who is not a shyster (aka lawyer).
A further reason to like Cain is his business track record. He turned around a whole region of Burger King restaurants & then turned around God Father’s Pizza. It would have been so easy to pull an HP or an IBM & say we getting out of the PC business. Getting out of a line of business is suicidal.

Posted on December 3, 2011 at 2:21pmThat’s not fair to Mr. Cain at all. Why can’t they leave the poor man alone? He withdrew from the race. Give him some peace.
but……no Newt PLEASE!
Newt Gingrich’s record is anti-gun. He believes gun owners should be forced to submit themselves to thumbprint scans of a biometric federal gun owner database… just to buy a firearm. I don‘t want Eric Holder’s Justice Department to have a list of gun owners complete with biometric data like thumbprints, and I‘m sure you don’t either.
Please call Newt Gingrich right now at (678) 973-2306.
Report Post »Demand he retract his support for a national thumbprint database and apologize to gun owners.

I really don’t think he is that stupid, he trying to put America under on purpose.

Obama was a community organizer & state senator. He worked on education & housing for Chicago’s poor.
The results is that Chicago still sucks to live in. Which makes him a darling of the Demoncats. There is no profit in a cure, just the medicine that you have to periodically take.

Posted on December 3, 2011 at 10:14pmWell, under Sharia law Herman would be guilty until proven innocent. As a matter of fact he would brobably be stoned to death before he could prove his innocence. Either that or he would be considered a Demigod. All kidding aside, as noted by so many before, Herman Cain tried to help one of those friends we all have, that leach that you just feel sorry for all the time and just can’t say no to, and someone came up and gave her a little bit better deal than what she could get from Herman at the time. You can look at the woman and tell without a doubt she is NOT telling the truth whatsoever and making it up or saying what she had rehearsed several times but not enough to make it viable. I hope Herman finds out who set her up for this and he nails the hell out of them. I wnat the truth to be found and exposed for what it is, the dirtiest trick in the book. A good man has been harmed for no reason other than someone which competed on equal ground, to which this Progressive-Alynski tactics would not be effective based on the response of calling Herman an Uncle Tom, Oreo, not an authentic black man, and all those other racist statements by the Left.

Posted on December 3, 2011 at 11:10pmMartin Bashir? What would that fool know about a Baptist Ministry? I think that fool would do well to simply help everyone out with a disclaimer…as in the following.
“Good evening viewers. I am a liberal through, and through. My visceral hate of all things conservative will allow me to readily prostrate myself on the altar of asinine insinuations towards Christian leadership and how my beliefs are superior to their church charters. And even though I’ve never read the bible I am quite sure all this forgiveness crap is just a ruse meant to trap the weak minded clingers into the horrible life of conservative values, which fellow liberals claim to be a mental disorder.”

Posted on December 4, 2011 at 12:37amDang! I was looking forward to paying more taxes under the 999 plan. That was a good plan. It stuck it to the poor and middle class, and gave the richest 1% a big break! If you’re like me, you make in real dollars no more than you made 20 years ago, but the richest are making 300% more than 20 years ago! Americans become more and more free the greater the income inequality between the richest and the rest of us. When the rich own everything, Americans will know true freedom. At that point there will be no class warfare. Toward that end I support paying more taxes myself, so we, as a country, can support the upper class. Because I yearn to be free.

Posted on December 3, 2011 at 11:26pmA man has got to come to grips with what some people are willing to do in order to achieve their evil goals or the evil goals of an organization, namely the Democrat party. The Democrats are perfectly willing to say and do anything to destroy a man. It is not sex when Bill Clinton is humping a young interns mouth under the Oval Office desk. And we should somehow excuse it as consensual when the semen stained dress comes into evidence or the fact that Monica was powerless intern, a silly little girl, and were any business manager to do what Presidente Clinton did they would be fired, and sued, and incarcerated.
Quite honestly I don’t give a rip for any politician anymore. I say clear the freaking swamp and shut off the lights they have become a freaking abomination in the sight of their people, their constituents, and God.
But, Cain is not a politician now is he. I‘ll still vote for the man given the chance and then we’ll see some change.

It’s not yet known what he plans to do. However, withdrawing from the campaign would not an admission of having an affair, but an admission that the campaign has been destroyed. Posted on December 3, 2011 at 12:42pmMartin should, of all people, not cast stones. You don’t leave church because you sinned. If that was the case nobody would be in Church. Church is the best place to be when you choosing to sin, because your heart is convicted of the sin and that could lead you to repent and ask for forgiveness, first to the Lord and then to the people you hurt, then forgive yourself.
This is between Herman, God and his family. Just because Herman was brave enough to stand up to the revoluntiary Leftists in our Government, does not mean he needs to be politically devoured by the same people of Mr. Weiner’s character, Mr. Bill Clinton’s character and their failed ideologies and over inflated egos.

Posted on December 3, 2011 at 12:33pmHerman shouldn’t resign from his church until he goes through the Biblical process with the church leadership. The Pastor and the elders should meet with him and ask him questions, if they find him to be guilty, he should be given a chance to repent and be restored to the fellowship after they see evidence he has changed, if he was found to be guilty and refuses to repent, then Herman should not be able to be in any kind of leadership position in the church and his minister credentials should be revoked. That is the Biblical process for a church member who is thought to be caught up in that kind of sin! That process is hardly ever followed by churches anymore. They just turn a blind eye!
Report Post »garyM
Posted on December 3, 2011 at 12:42pmFrom what I’ve heard about the local church Herman is a member of I doubt they will use the biblical process. The Baptist association should remove him from any leadership position Nationally, unless he be innocence. Each local Baptist church is autonomous with no control by the National Baptist Leadership in each church. Each local body does it’s on thing according to what they see is Biblical. They only band together nationally as a group to be able spread the Gospel in a greater way. Some denominations are controlled on a national scale, not Baptist!
