Martin Bashir Mocks ‘Chicken-Hawk‘ Herman Cain Despite Cain’s Dept. of Navy Service

Never failing to miss an opportunity to disparage a conservative, MSNBC’s Martin Bashir boldly declared GOP presidential contender Herman Cain a “chicken hawk” — in the tradition of “Dick Cheney” — despite Cain having served as a ballistics analyst for the Department of the Navy.

Speaking to his guest on Wednesday, Bashir asked, “and on the issue of Iran, does Cain remind you at all of Dick Cheney and that long roster of chicken hawks who’ve rabidly pushed for U.S. military action there?”

If Cain is a “chicken hawk” then would it be fair to assert President Barack Obama is a flip-flopper? The president and Nobel Peace Prize recipient broke vows to close Guantanamo, prosecute terrorists in criminal rather than military court, and reign in operations in Afghanistan to name a few…

Mr Bashir does not seem to have a problem with Obama sending a surge to Afghanistan, or having our troops shooting Somali pirates, killing OBL, taking part in the capture and execution of Khadafi, putting boots on ground in Africa…..

‘Inspired by the work ethic and character of his parents, Herman continued his education by earning his Master’s degree in computer science from Purdue University while working full-time developing fire control systems for ships and fighter planes for the Department of the Navy. Though Herman enjoyed using his talents as a civilian employee for the Navy, he gravitated towards the culture of business.’

      @your sensei

we have a all volunteer army. the point of the article, is that Mr Bashir mocks Cain for him not serving. I am asking why he does not mock Obama for not serving. You then give a list of conservatives who did not serve in the military. Why did you not give a list with dems on it. It is not part of the arguments. We can list Clinton, Bidden, and a whole host of others.

Once again, Bashir did not serve, he mocks Cain for not serving, does he apply the same standard to Obama, or is he a typical lib that speaks with a forked tongue?
You are a typical lib, in that you have no ability to debate, thus you try to change direction of the topic and spin it. In a written format it does not work, as there is a written record of what you say, and you end up looking like a fool.

I don’t get what this whole debate is about military contractors. They are what they are, and we don’t need to create a whole make-believe debate ranking one person‘s level of honor over another’s. If a private person can find a way to save the taxpayer money by getting paid more to do the same job a government soldier does, then why wouldn’t we fire soldiers and replace them with contractors? The fired soldiers can then go get the contractor jobs and make more money and save us money because it takes government waste and turns it into profit.

Bashir was the same dude who outed Princess D and her marital woes and accused Michael Jackson of pedophilia in a corrupted interview that led to MJ’s unjust indictment on 2003. Which he was acquitted on all 14 counts cause the state had zip proof. He famously videoed MJ for months but MJ also videoed Bashir knowing he could not trust any reporter. The TV version was edited to make MJ look nuts. The MJ version is on youtube and in it Bashir has his head comfortably up MJ’s derriere. Glowing about MJ’s parenting skills and how fabbo he is. In other words Bashir is a well practiced liar and backstabber. BTW: Bashir has been rewarded for his corruption by being given an inoperable brain tumor and was moved from Nightline after they learned of the MJ tapes and tucked away in no viewer land at 3pm MSNBC. Its why he makes such outlandish remarks. NO ONE WATCHES. .

Or what about people in the armed forces who never see action? MOST people in the military never see action, they work behind the scenes, probably about 8 to 1.

Don’t pull the “only those that served can speak card” Especially since others, like myself have also served and will negate your comment.
DoD Contractors still are VITAL to mission accomplishment. While they may not be on the front lines, neither are many who serve in uniform, and without the advanced technology or experience provided by many contractors, our military would be far less capable and effective.
Just try to get a bunch of soldiers to design and build any of the high tech weapons they depend on, or airmen, sailors with planes and ships… They have a role, as does the supposedly evil military industrial complex, it is an interdependent relationship to provide this nations defense.
Don’t throw stones, that is just foolish.

      @ Br@dley
Actually, a “DOD employee” is different from a “civilian contractor.” A civilian contractor would include a Raytheon employee who works on a radar system — back when I was in the Navy, we called those guys “sand crabs” (and they even went to sea — on the USS Constellation in 1981, at least). They are called “contractors” because they work with the navy on a particular contract. They are NOT government employees. A Department of Defense employee, on the other hand, IS a government employee — he or she will have a GS level. The political appointee levels of DOD employees — Sec. Def. and Sec. Nav. — are even in the Chain of Command.

Oh — almost forgot to mention: Get on the Cain Train — if you are not onboard, then you are laying tracks for a Romney nomination.

You are correct and yes the contractors still go underway with us. We had a couple of them flown on to our ship in the Gulf. Yes they do get paid more but they also get taxed more and most of these guys are all ex-military. I’ve only met a few who have not actually served in the military though few and in between. They just took the skills the military taught them and got a job working for someone else not a bad plan if you think about it :)

      @ BR@DLY

“don’t have to give up nearly as much personal liberty or conform to an unnatural caste system” by caste system I’m going to go out on a limb here but…I guess your talking about the chain of command? Correct me if I‘m wrong but hasn’t that always been a part of military service? How many times were you busted down you sound almost resentful. No they don’t give up as much “personal liberty” but hey just cause they are on your ship for a couple weeks does not mean they are not on the 10 or 20 other ships in port all the time too they are busy s.o.bs

VAT evaluates value added at each step of manufacturing / production. Cain’s plan DOES NOT. It is not a VAT tax. Read the plan “Gross income less all purchases from other U.S. located businesses, all capital investment, and net exports.” Nothing to do with value added.

Not pro choice, just anti federal government. He stated that the federal government has no role in the decision for or against abortion. I agree. Push the issue to the states and let the citizens of each of these united states decide. I like my chances in my state better than changing an activist SCOTUS.

Cain is a leader. He is not as polished as a Romney, because typically those doing the work get a few rough edges while those on a perpetual campaign have time to practice the smile. Romney = Perry = Santorum = McCain = Dole = Defeat.

Bashir reminds me of an insane rooster; maddening to listen to and making no end of noise and of no use whatsoever even as a dinner.

What is Bashir’s legitimacy for his critical statements of Cain? Has Bashir served this country, or even his former country in any way? Or has he only been cowering behind people who did serve like Cain and others? This guy is just a cowardly loudmouth with no sense.

Herman is my man. At this point he is the last one standing. I really Like Ron Paul and was strongly considering giving him my support. But I just saw him on Fox news saying that he would not have gone in to Pakistan to kill Bin Laden ! ! ! He said he “would have worked with the authorities to get him”.
    So Herman it is….

Ron Paul served as a Flight Surgeon and Cain served as what? OH! You did not know he did not serve. Maybe you read something that implied he did? The media does like to spin things.

bashir reminds me of a pakistani bill maher…constantly attacking only conservatives and decent Americans while promoting the leftist agenda while lining his pockets with evil corporate money he constantly demonizes.
In a normal world, bashir would be a street beggar.
