FreedomWorks President Wants New GOP Candidate: Tea Party Hasn‘t ’Coalesced’ Around Gingrich

On Tuesday’s episode of “Real News From The Blaze,” special guest Matt Kibbe, president of the conservative organization FreedomWorks, along with the panel, discussed why Newt Gingrich is not the Tea Party candidate for 2012.
Blaze host S.E. Cupp shared her observation that the Tea Party wants a small government outsider and thus could never be satisfied with Gingrich, a “big government Republican.”
“But where are they going to go?” asks Kibbe, suggesting that panel members are holding the Tea Party and its ideal candidate “to standard no one can be held to.”
“I don’t think the Tea Party has coalesced around Newt Gingrich,” Kibbe said, speculating that there could even be a brokered convention with an outside candidate being chosen to run.
“I would love to find someone outside of the current field,” he added.
When asked who might shine as an ideal presidential candidate with core Tea Party values, Kibbe offered Bobby Jindal, Marco Rubio and Tim Scott but ceded that they’re all “too green” to run for president. Kibbe did agree that Jeb Bush could also be a good choice, underscoring a National Review post out Tuesday suggesting that the “charismatic governor” could “save the Republican party.”
Watch Kibbe and the panel discuss a Tea Party candidate below:
From Artur Davis at NRO who posits that there is a “feasibility around the idea” of a Jeb Bush run that before “seemed unthinkable.” He writes:
To be sure, the Jeb scenario will need more instability in order to flourish. The likeliest path involves Gingrich’s momentum carrying him through Florida; the February races in Arizona and Michigan dividing between Romney and Gingrich; Romney rebounding in March in moderate-leaning midwestern states such as Illinois and Wisconsin; Gingrich winning easily in the Deep South on Super Tuesday and Texas in early April, with Romney proving equally strong in New York and the rest of the Atlantic coastline, while states like Ohio and Indiana fail to resolve the split.
Imagine that California’s ultimate showdown leaves Gingrich with the slightest of edges, but with Romney remaining viable and in possession of a broader geographic base, far more internal support from GOP leadership, and a substantial chunk of delegates. To stop Gingrich, Romney might have no practical choice but to offer to throw his support to Bush, whose popularity would also implode Gingrich’s slim plurality.
Not one bit of it is implausible.

Posted on January 25, 2012 at 1:22amI have an idea. Let‘s annex Israel as a province like Puerto Rico even though we don’t like Jews that much. Let‘s kill scientists in countries we don’t like. Let’s accuse countries of having invisible weapons and bomb the hell out of them. Let’s take over other countries and run pipelines through them and kill those people too. Let’s overthrow governments all over the place. Let‘s totally ignore any real human rights violations and dictators in countries that don’t have resources we want. Let‘s build a military that’s 100 times more powerful than everyone elses and stomp all over the planet ****** off everyone else. Let’s borrow astronomical sums of money from countries that make crap products and buy all their stuff too and not make anything here except weapons and chopsticks. Then let‘s be so afraid of backlash from doing all that let’s hire people to cavity search old ladies and little girls at the airport and get the govt to watch and listen to everything we say and do so we’ll feel safe from the boogeyman under the bed. Then whenever someone else says this is all stupid we’ll call them crazy.

Gingrich and Romney. Both have been progressive in politics. Plus, the idea that you have to be a Romney-type businessman to understand how a free market economy works is false.
So what is the media going to do with these guys?
If the Undecideds don’t wake up to the media game, we lose.
Corruption and scandal of the worst kind surround the current WH,
yet the msm’s motto is “To Serve snd Protect.”
You really think it matters to the elite media which one of these guys is “cleaner?”
Yesterday on BBC International, in a report about Romney’s tax returns, they reported that the average American pays “up to 35%” in taxes while Romney only pays around 13.something%.
A total and blatent lie which nobody questioned.
You know, it’s the BBC. They speak with a British accent….
Just wait until you see what the msm can do with Romney’s Mormonism….
The mainstream media, or rather elite media (Gingrich’s word is more accurate) is going to crush either one of these guys unless the PUBLIC 1) wakes up to their game,
2) lets them know they are awake.
The whole thing with CNN not allowing public reaction during a debate is proof of their fear of the public “making noise about the media.” It is nothing short of censorship.

Romney the other Goldman Sachs candidate #1 contributor Goldman Sachs aka Federal Reserve
Gingrich the AIPAC candidate # 1 contributor Israeli lobby.
Santorum the lobbyists’ favorite #1 contributors Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Universal Health Services

Posted on January 24, 2012 at 10:29pmlook, guys….obama could EASILY be defeated in november but it’s not really gonna change anything for the immediate future. obama’s destructive policies have dug us into a DEEP hole and it will take Almighty God to get us out. the main issue is this: SUPPORT. it didn’t really matter who won in 08 because mccain and obama were basically of the same mind. regardless of my intense dislike for obama, he and his cronies are excellent political strategists. look at it this way: they have bailed out and bought off the banking and wall street big-wigs and they’re backed by the unions. they’ve preyed upon the entitlement minded and welfare addicted minority communities and won over the illegal community as well. obama has one great instrument at his disposal: the media-and he plays it like a harp. we need to stop bickering about who is the “perfect conservative, tea party candidate” and choose a candidate and GET BEHIND THEM. it cant be any worse than obama and besides, the media will actually hold the republican nominee accountable because of their hate for conservatives…make a choice and VOTE OBAMA OUT

Our world is sinking to socialism, debt rising, image in the world declining — the so-called Tea Party which was to support three very simple fiscal conservative ideas: small constitutional government, free enterprise system and lower taxes.
Report Post »Instead we have internal fighting — basically a power trip where individual leaders are vying for power. Palin comes out and recommends “keeping the election going by voting for Newt.” Now, Kibby says he is no longer Tea Party candidate. I‘m sure it’s because they finally got around to reading about Newt and realize that his baggage is REAL baggage: Pro Obamacare as of May 16, 2011, disorganized, dirty laundry in the hands of Nancy Pelosi. Forget the Obama Newt debate, they both think alike! Romney continues to be minimized when he’s the upstanding, intelligent, clear leader who knows how to create jobs. It’s the economy stupid, we need jobs! Let’s move forward – how many years do we saw we could get someone else maybe Jindal, Daniels, Christy — when they say NO! Palin is unpopular and not a great leading spirit for our success. Wake up GOP, stop eating your own. John Bolton, who commands great respect, says Romney is the ONLY conservative running! Posted on January 24, 2012 at 10:26pmWow another Newt bashing thread – However, the point he made is interesting….
Report Post »In the NBC post debate analysis, Andrea Mitchell brought up an interesting point, one which, if true, will mean the end of the modern Republican Party as it is known – an aid close to the Romney campaign indicated that the elite who control the party will not allow Gingrich to be the nominee. (he was credited with the failed bid for a second term by George H. Bush, hated by the moderate Bob Dole, who felt Gingrich was a competitor, and feel on the proverbial Republican Sword (he was not “ousted from the Speakership as implied), for not producing Congressional wins large enough to please those who would see an “insider” not Gingrich as Speaker.)
Apparently, the Republican elite plan to go to a brokered election should Romney fail in Florida and put up, of all people, Jeb Bush or a “Mitch Daniels”, going the route of the Democrats Super Delegate Convention that led to the election of Barack Obama. Therefore, those who run Washington and the GOP will throw a hissy fit if their chosen candidate “Mitt Romney” does not perform and will simply negate the votes of the people, and put in whomever they chose – a losing proposition no matter which way the wind blows and they know it. With no love lost on Republicans, Andrea Mitchell appears to know it as well, almost gleefully quoting the source.
Yup, just what we need another Bush!

Posted on January 25, 2012 at 12:11amFine with me if somebody blocks Newt.
Look, I lived through that debacle (I remember Ike well, so that might give you some perspective).
And Newt was effective at first as Speaker, but for a variety of reasons, it went to his head and he imploded. It’s that simple. And he wan’t even the PRESIDENT!
Now should Newt ever become President, he’d have an even BIGGER ego with the same potential disaster looming, which would easily give the president back to the Dems to continue destroying our country. And from what I’ve seen of his snarky remards on the campaign trail, I see disaster on the horizon.
And while people don’t like Romney, it is ROMNEY that’s the WASHINGTON OUTSIDER, not Newt. Newt failed in his position as an “executive” of the House, while Romney has succeeded in several such enterprises. Newt is the Washington Insider (and really a Progressive if you look at his list of favorite presidents and his favored positions on a lot of issues).
And Romney has a far better attitude toward vicious questions than Newt ever will–I cringe at the insidious attitude Newt takes whenever anybody asks him an embarassing question, and face it–Newt has so much baggage it looks like he’s trailing the Hindenburg. He’s a prime “target-rich environment” so the opposition will have a field day with him.

Posted on January 24, 2012 at 10:51pmSantorum is not TEA party material. Santorum is a social progressive, not to be confused with social liberal.
Santorum on August 2005: “They (Libertarian Conservatives) have this idea that people should be left alone, be able to do whatever they want to do. Government should keep our taxes down and keep our regulation low and that we shouldn’t get involved in the bedroom, we shouldn’t get involved in cultural issues, you know, people should do whatever they want. Well, that is not how traditional conservatives view the world, and I think most conservatives understand that individuals can’t go it alone, that there is no such society that I‘m aware of where we’ve had radical individualism and and that it succeeds as a culture.”
Santorum doesn’t understand what a limited Government is, what enumerated Powers are, and to whom natural Rights belong to. He has never proposed any legislation to make our current Government significantly smaller, and less intrusive.
