Matt Lauer Hammers Mayor Bloomberg Over Banning Large Sodas…While Supporting National Donut Day

Matt Lauer Mayor Michael Bloomberg Large Soda Ban Donut DayMatt Lauer took on New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg on Friday over his administration’s plan to ban the sale of large soft drinks — while coming out in support of National Donut Day at the same time.

“Your administration has come out in support of National Donut Day,” Lauer said on NBC’s “Today.“ ”It sounds ridiculous.”

“It doesn’t sound ridiculous, one donut is not going to hurt you,” Bloomberg, a political independent, defended. “In moderation, most things are OK.”

He continued, “Number two, think about what National Donut Day is. National Donut Day celebrates a lot of young ladies during World War I called ‘donut lassies’ who went and gave donuts to our soldiers while they were fighting to protect democracy. I’ll stand behind it.”

“Your honor,” Lauer cut in. “That was before obesity was a national epidemic in this country….if moderation works for donuts, why not with soft drinks?”

“That is exactly what we’re trying to do with soft drinks,” Bloomberg. “Instead of the big 32-ounce, get two 16 ounces if you want. But history shows, all the tests show what you’ll do is probably drink one.”

“Happy National Donut Day,” Lauer said to close the segment.

“Thank you very much,” Bloomberg replied.

Wasn’t Bloomberg making sure the Occupy mob had full access?
Is this guy in the tank? He is assisting in the overall Marxist plan. Another one like Holder.
Don’t let these increments through. Make a large noise about and wake everybody up.

Oh you better believe he’s in the tank. This is classic liberalism on display. The government wants to “control” your behavior. Notice how they always talk about being for the poor people? In this case a poor person will spend twice as much buying 2 – 16 ounce drinks. What about all the fairness garbage they keep spewing. I’m prestty sure New York has bigger issues to deal with than soda consumption. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m5kwKTxxEy4

Soooo…..logically one should not be able to buy a dozen donuts at a time. One per person per sale.

I am not being silly. How would that be different from the soft drink thing?
Deep fried white flour and sugar– covered with more sugar. Who says that’s better for you than a few ounces of sweetened carbonated water poured over a cup full of ice (frozen water!)?
I am waiting for the fakey UN report to come out and explain that to us.

People need to be educated– just like he obviously has been–not treated like children.

      @RECOVERING…

To “take a beating” would require 2 things. 1) That you had the facts on your side (which you don’t)

      http://www.redstate.com/thearmedforcesteaparty/2012/06/01/ron-paul-chooses-death/

and 2) that the RP supporters that would just on me (for telling the truth mind you) have better debate skills than I (which, again, you don’t)…

I don’t hate RP. In fact, he makes a LOT of sense if you throw out his lunatic foreign policy. I’m just saying that those of you that look on him like some sort of god need to understand that he is just as fallible as the rest of us.

Liars like liberal Mayor BloomingIdiot thinks he is the Messiah, and it is his duty to force you to live in a certain fashion. Soda contains sugar and because you consume so much you become fat we must send you to the Re-education Camp.

Obama is the same type of idiot with more dastardly plans. Socialism and wealth redistribution is a necessary evil to weed whitey out of power. Things like using armed reconaissance drones to kill people Obama determines is a threat, and the NDAA to alternatively haul them off without a trial and make disappear like Jimmy Hoffa. Wake up, stupid! When have people lost their minds to think this is part of America?
