‘May Divorce Be With You’: SNL Does Gingrich‘s ’Moon Colony’

May Divorce Be With You: SNL Does Gingrichs Moon Colony

NBC

Saturday Night Live gave a glimpse into what Newt Gingrich’s infamous “moon colony” could look like, and it’s just a few short years away…

The year is 2014, a “time of turmoil for America,“ when President Barack Obama ”no longer hides his socialist agenda.” Fortunately, Gingrich’s moon colony is up and running, with the former House Speaker at the helm as “moon president.” Joined by his trusty Reagatron 3000, Vice Admiral Herman Cain — who enjoys inspecting all the “craters” — and wife Callista, Moon President Gingrich leads the space pioneers into a better future.

At one point, Gingrich greets a schoolgirl who is a student by day and a janitor at night, per his “moon decree.”

“You know, on Earth they thought the idea of student janitors was crazy. I guess that‘s why they didn’t want me to be their president,” Gingrich says.

“The people of South Carolina wanted you to be president!” the girl protests.

“Not all of America is as forward-thinking as South Carolina,” Gingrich says.

Concluding their meet-and-greet, the girl chirps, “A good moon to you!”

“May divorce be with you,” Gingrich replies.

Suddenly, everyone watches in horror from the observation deck as Iran and North Korea blow Earth in half with their nuclear weapons. They’re hit with the reality of how to sustain their moon colony population when the women vastly outnumber the men. Luckily, Callista has the solution: An open marriage, freeing up Newt to save the day again.

There is always truth to found in sarcasm, just look at the opening dialog: Obama is a Socialist and the Economy is in ruins. OK, who’s going to argue that, well how about all the liberals. They did a fine job of pointing out that Obama is ruining this country.
Yes, they poked fun at both Newt and Mitt and Pres. Regan. But, what do you expect. Both N & M are funny the way they are acting at the moment.
Personally, I found the skit to quite funny.

      ACONSTITUTIONALISTLIVESINBROOKLYN,

It is only funny if your only other source of comedie is Nickelodeon! In other words Brooklyn…,it wasn’t funny. It was not.

The problem with SNL is that they still play to an audience who got their news from “Uncle” Walter Cronkite. The audience nationwide has become more aware. SNL has not.
They still play to aging hippies and ill informed leftists. I mean really? Isn’t Lorne Michaels like 85?
They are stuck in a time warp.

SNL is a dinosaur. They are the Lawrence Welk of comedie! They need to go the way of the dinosaurs…,into extinction!

      @Lucy et al.

Guys you have to lighten up. I don’t think we were watching the same skit. Seen from a conservative’s perspective, I thought the skit sent our message in a very funny way. The world is going to be in sorry shape if Obama gets re-elected. Glenn has been spreading the word to prepare ourselves for tough times no matter who is elected. That’s what the skit says. Also in the skit are exagerrations about the faults and foibles of our candidates, but if we can’t laugh at ourselves, we are already in sorry shape. And no, I haven’t watched SNL in many many years. Maybe the uninformed see the skit in a different way, and maybe the writers intended it in a different way. Maybe they think we are really stupid to think our way of life is endangered by Progressive policies. But that should not prevent us from enjoying it. Art is a funny thing. It really dosen’t matter what the intent of the artist is, the truth behind it will strike the viewer in a different way because his or her perspective is different. Truth is on our side. Meanwhile, when you have the opportunity to laugh, for your own well being, do so.

    Funny skit..

By the way, President Bush was trying to remove funds from the Space Junk floating in Space by which the US has paid a whopping 80%..in tax payer cash..We could build our own colony on the Moon, with better launch capability for furthering SPace Exploration…Newt was a bit over confident; however, as far as Space exploration, at least the US would have exclusive rights, more Space, and better quality than the Space Station…The Space Station requires a Diplomatic Resolution of the UN in order to make an appointment..Space Station Diplomacy for funding just about the entire project is ludicrous..by the way, there are a hell of a lot of folks who believe the Lunar Journey was staged..just gives me a chuckle…but did you ever think it was? Neil Armstrong the actor…? The guy drinks milk and root beer for a Saturday night out to play Bingo. .. I don’t think he is watching the Luna-tics on Saturday Night Live..Who has the time to watch Cable TV when you could be flying a rocket ship to the Moon..I can dream can’ t I, or will this be regulated and taxed as well..?

The problem with SNL as it is with most liberal comedians like that human rectum Bill Maher, is that in their effort to attack conservatives they lose sight of the humor of the situation. Their skits are too long and too thin. They become exercises in “Let’s say whatever we can to attack conservatives and hope that in the process it becomes funny.”

    It doesn’t.

The SNL writers are just like liberal newspapers that determinedly publish their liberal screed that nobody wants or believes, rather than publish the news without bias and stay in business. They never seem to learn the lesson.

If this is the best that they can produce, and last night’s show was one of their worst in years, SNL will not be on for much longer. Sadly it will be replaced with something worse.

To all the Newt Supporters with there heads still shoved solidly up there rear ends,

Newt Gingrich has an affair and divorces his first wive suffering of cancer.

Cost: No body knows. (Everyone makes at least one big mistake in there life right?)

Newt Gingrich has an affair and divorces his second wife after she is diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis

Cost: At least some off the 1.6 million from Freddie Mac and all the other money he made influence peddling in DC.

Chances that when Newts sorry campaign comes to an end that he will pull an Edwards and has not only another affair but a love child. (Which is highly likely given the record so far)

Cost: TBA but he still has his millions from the lobbyist to cover it.

LOL bet you were expecting a priceless line up there…. see below.

The fact that Mitt Romney married his high school sweet heart and has not only never cheated on her but stuck by her side despite her diagnosis with Multiple Sclerosis ( cough… Newts second wife cough cough ).

…..and apparently Glenn Beck who is now lockstep with not only Pelosi but SNL libs. Remind me again what he says about the enemy of your enemy not being your friend?

You have to admit, if Earth is destroyed, we will all need to find practical ways for humans to regain our dominance. I think cloning might be faster than open marriage, but since this was for television audiences, they went for humor instead of intellect.

Besides, Newt is really fat and does not look healthy or virile enough to stud. He is better off studying instead.

Haven’t watched SNL for years. It just wasn’t funny. This clip, however, is an exception. The Newt actor was’t too good, but the Cain actor was great. The Reagan robot was a hoot and a half! Ever notice how conservatives can laugh at parodies, while libs just can’t seem to take what they dish out?

They should have had an Obama appearance to Moon President Newt making certain that NASA was still engaged in Muslim outreach.
