A White House spokesman said Friday President Barack Obama doesn't believe Team USA's Chinese-made Olympics uniforms need to be swapped for American-manufactured clothing. (AP)
The Obama administration does not believe Team USA’s Chinese-made Olympics uniforms need to be replaced with American-manufactured threads ahead of the Summer Games later this month.
“Maybe for future Olympics, those kinds of things should be considered,” deputy White House spokesman Josh Earnest told reporters Friday, according to ABC News. “The United States Olympic Committee has said that they are a—they are privately funded. This isn’t a government decision.”
The news that America’s Olympians will be wearing opening ceremony uniforms made in China has prompted outrage from some lawmakers, including Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid who said the Olympics committee should put the outfits “in a big pile and burn them and start all over again.”
According to ABC, Earnest told reporters that while Obama would rather see the team wearing U.S.-made clothing, he doesn‘t want the uniform controversy to distract from the athletes’ achievements in London.
“The president’s views on the high quality of American-made products is well known,” he said. “It’s something he talks about extensively. That includes American-made clothing.”

Posted on July 14, 2012 at 12:02amWho do you think paid the Chinese for the uniforms anyway (may not directly). Darn shame the Olympic committee decided to buy these uniforms from China then buy them here in the U.S.A. I really don‘t give a rat’s behind what the WH think anyway. If I had my way, I would tell them to put all the uniforms in a pile and burn them. I won’t be watching the Olympics this year if I can help it. I definitely won’t be watching the dog and pony show where our Olympic Athletes are wearing commie uniforms. I’d rather watch Ninja Warrior anyway. lol

I chuckle that “I am not wild about Harry” has …BOOED…this business for THIS free market job for the olympics. Ralph Loren…BENDED BY THE PRESSURE…will have a proposal for a USA company to make clothing (not shoes) in 2K14. Oh….we do have a “looming-16T-debt”. The positive reaction is bring back jobs to the USA…so whatever makes America “put-both-oars-in-the-water” and wean-off “cheap-labor”. This admin. blames Bush and funny that were my thoughts (olddollie) trying to blame Romney. Oh wait….Romney failed at Bain C and it is a ‘STORY“ that Romney succeeded at ”turning-around-the-olympics-from-FALLING-OFF-A-CLIFF”.

As far as the hats are concerned, the Athletes should refuse to wear them! Of course, any reference to Che and his murdering henchmen would send chills of delight up the back of this administration.
I personally, for years, have supported the American Olympic effort. were also made in China. I wouldn’t doubt that China has been making the clothes for the Olympics
for many decades. Do you think the Dems would care about this now?
They plan on coming out and saying, “Romney authorized US Olympic uniforms to not be made in
the US anymore and outsourced them to China for the first time and it’s been happening every since”.
Whether it’s true or not…. it won’t make any difference to the Dems. They have already shown

Posted on July 14, 2012 at 5:33amHi MONK, This has been going on for quite a while now. Remember the outcry when Levis was chosen to design the Olympic uniforms many years ago? Levis by then had already closed up all of their shops in the U.S. and does nothing here but the designs for clothing. They then hire the lowest bidding out of country subcontractor that makes that run of clothing. I don’t recall the country where those uniforms were made. I would venture to say that almost all of the U.S. Olympic uniforms for the last decade and a half to maybe even two decades have been made in China. Since government meddling has run so many of these clothing makers to China anyway, it is they who should look in a mirror and stop making all of the wild accusations that Dingy Harry made this morning. He is a major part of the problem.

Posted on July 13, 2012 at 11:26pmHarry Reid came out really strong against the US Olympic clothes being made in China….
I found this very strange and a highly unlikely way for Harry to react to this situation
considering his past, very calm or almost nil, reactions to things the Chinese do to us.
His speech about the uniforms seemed more like a speech against Republicans. Nancy
Pelosi had the reaction on me. My Monk senses are telling me something is up.
Consider this;
The Dems are “robustly” going after Romney for his time at Bain’s. They are telling lies so
false that even the Washington Post is calling them lies. Romney responds that he was
so busy working on the Olympics that he had no time for anything at Bain. This has been
going on for at least a week or more on all the MSM news programs.
Now, out of the blue, we find out that the US Olympic uniforms are made in China and
very expensive. Why would the Dems give a rats behind about that? The Dems are
Communists for the most part, Ralph Lauren (designer of the uniforms) is a major supporter
of Obama and Obama’s policies have been to kill anything “Made in America” by private
companies. Reid and Pelosi “love” Obama so much that they would never say anything
bad about something that is so closely related to a major Obama supporter.
So why the heated and over-zealous speeches by Reid and Pelosi? What do they know or hope?
