McCain Defends ‘Hobbit’ Comment to Hannity: I Actually ‘Admire’ the Tea Party

John McCain had plenty of explaining to do last night when he joined Sean Hannity on Fox to try and assuage the anger of many conservatives after he read a Wall Street Journal op-ed that was critical of the Tea Party. In the op-ed, Tea Party members were called “hobbits,” and McCain was sure to read that part out loud. So how did he explain himself? He said he was simply reading from the op-ed, and he actually “admires” the Tea Party.

“I wasn’t attacking the Tea Partiers or anybody,” he said, later adding that the editorial he read was more of an “attack on President Obama.”

“I admire, respect and appreciate the Tea Party, and they’re the ones that gave us a majority in the House of Representatives so that we can get something done,” McCain said near the end of the interview.

Still, he disagrees with the “idea” that conservatives would rail against John Boehner‘s plan because it doesn’t do enough (such as advancing a balanced budget amendment). That, he said, could lead to Congress passing Harry Reid’s plan, which he thinks is an egregious piece of legislation. In fact, he called it “one of the most flimsy, transparent, phony spending cut things, proposals, that I’ve ever seen.”

As for Hannity, he was pointed about his thoughts on the crisis: “Senator, I’m not buying this.”

You can watch the interview, in two parts, below:

McCain style leadership. He is a Maverick Senator. Yup Maverick Republican .Says one thing in the
Press conference and on the Floor of the Senate– and then say I wasn’t attacking anybody. How’s this for a “compromise” Senator Kerry /McCain. Repass Cut cap and balance –with even more cuts and no
increase in debt limit. And if the Democrats in the Senate do not pas sit as written and passed by the House then the next paperwork from the House will be for the IMPEACHMENT of Barry Soetoro aka Barak Hussein Obama II -and those supporters of his in Congress. Including IMPEACHMENT of Leon Panetta as SEC DEF. As principles in the criminal Fast and Furious gunrunning scam and cover-up.”Compromise I could live with MR. Maverick .

With McCain, it’s all about him. If anyone criticizes him, he gets even, sometimes in the most extreme ways. And, he never forgets a slight. With McCain-Feingold, he abridged the free speech rights of everybody in the country because he was mad at some group that criticized him in Arizona. He is a mean, petty, intemperate person. Too bad he didn’t have even one bit of that passion when he was running against Obama.

What do you stand for actualky? You were all gung -ho for war and now you’re saying get out[like the left has always said].You hold consevative social values until you join the progrssives[gay marriage and previously all the other civil rights issues]You‘re against big government except when you’re not. You’re against tree huggers until you come on board environmental concerns etc.Your only consistent mantra is tax breaks for the rich[and flat tax ] like you’re livlihoods rests on those billionaires who“create the jobs” You ideaalize the rich believing that they must be smart, they must be good to be that rich. You fail to realize they create jobs when and if it’s in their interests to do so and will throw you under the bus just as easily as they will “create the jobs’.”Mc cain is indeed a maverick and not an ideologue .He has common sense and as a supporter of the arab spring shows he’s not driven by right wing indoctrination.

Well, let’s do the political two-step. My mother taught me that even if you repeat something someone else said, AT SOME POINT, IT STILL CAME OUT OF YOUR MOUTH!

If you are not a part of the solution, you are a part of the problem. John McCain is a JACKASS…..
