McCain: Eric Holder Has ‘No Credibility’ to Oversee Leaks Investigation

Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) on Sunday said Attorney General Eric Holder has “no credibility” to oversee the investigation into the recent spate of national security leaks and called for a special counsel to investigate instead.

“Mr. Holder’s credibility with Congress — there is none,” McCain said on CNN’s “State of the Union.“ ”We continue to have this problem with him withholding information on Fast and Furious which resulted in the killing of a Border Patrol agent in Arizona. He is close to being held in contempt. There is no credibility.”

While saying he had “great respect” for the two individuals tapped to head up the process — U.S. Attorneys Ronald Machen and Rod Rosenstein — McCain said the investigation really needs “a special counsel, someone entirely independent of the Justice Department.”

McCain has been particularly vocal about the leaks, last week accusing the “highest levels of the White House” of being responsible for them, possibly as a way to boost President Barack Obama’s image as a strong leader. On Sunday, he said he has “no idea whether the president knew or did not know” about the leaking of information.

“It’s obvious on its face that this information came from individuals who are in the administration,” McCain said. “The president may not have done it himself, but the president is certainly responsible as commander in chief.”

    McCain is correct regarding Holder…but he is VERY WRONG on the (LOST) Treaty. In fact supporting that treaty will cause more damage to our country than Holder ever could. In another words…McCain can cause America to lose her sovereign rights…something Holder can’t even get close to doing!

      So McCain when is CONGRESS going to do something ?.. I know the Senate is controlled by Harry Reid but the House is not .. we have seen illegal activities in the Obama Regime like NO OTHER .. and that INCLUDES NIXON (who must be spinning in his grave).

    It’s OBVIOUS Holder has/is an OBSTRUCTION TO JUSTICE…

    Dead or Alive threat in the Martin case….FAST & FURIOUS, to name a few of his
    incompentent, inept, SCREWING OVER OF THE US JUSTICE SYSTEM & NATION.

    JUSTICE IS NOWHERE IN HOLDER’S VOCABULARY…
    BUT IT SHOULD BE IN CONGRESS’S…

      Eric Holder is a criminal. Accomplice to murder in the case of border patrol agent Brian Terry. Also in the case of hundreds of citizens of Mexico. I’m not concerned about violent cartel members. But about the innocent citizens of Mexico who did nothing wrong. Their family members were heartbroken as well.

    Something is telling with the Media’s response. They get a call from the WH to scrub the internet of any field trip of the first daughters take and they do with out comment but they don’t bother giving a call to the same media to scrub the internet of any security leaks that can lead to death or hard time in jail for the source of the leaks. And they still leak them with out a care to the possible jail time as if they know they will never get charged.

    Look, when you have a president telling the whole world that he plans to get rid of 80% of our nation’s nuclear weapons, it’s not a leak….it’s an announcement. There are no “leaks” it‘s intentional and Holder selects somone who contributed to Obama’s campaign? Gee…how credible is that!?

    Holder has no credibility on any matter. When he would not prosecute the NBP for voter intimidation saying they were “his” people, he should have been fired immediately.       Does anybody doubt that there will be a fair and honest investigation? After all Epic Holdup has appointed two men who are supporters of Sweet Old Barack and depend on Holdup for their efficiency ratings on the job they do.     It should come as no surprise that Holder would appoint someone who actually contributed to Obama’s campaign to spear head the “investigation.”It’s a farce, a cover-up and I think people are well aware that more “leaks” have come out of this administration than any other. When you have a president telling the world that he’s going to get rid of 80% of our nation’s nuclear weapons, he’s letting the world know that he is weakening our nation. That wasn’t a leak, that was an announcement.

If Holder appointed two prosecuters to investigate the leaks, this is going nowhere. Drag it out just like Fast and Furious until after the election. If you can arrest someone involved in these two scandels you will find out the truth because they will talk and tell you everything you want to know to save their own skin.

      There is something to be said for “contentment”. It’s called living “in the present”, and being happy with the blessings that you have. While innovation is great, (That is what made America great!) sometimes we are never satisfied with what we have. We always have to have more, more, more. The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence. We don’t need to be stagnant, but it wouldn’t hurt if we were occasionally “content”.
