McCain: Obama Should Choose Clinton As New Veep…If She’ll Do It

As most commentators have been noting since Mitt Romney chose Paul Ryan as his running mate, current Vice President Joe Biden will be at a severe disadvantage when debate season comes. Old, charisma-deprived and prone to gaffes, Biden will likely have a hard time facing off against the young, telegenic and rhetorically disciplined Ryan. This has, in turn, led many people to begin wondering whether it really is the time for President Obama to dump Biden and pick a new running mate.

And no name has been more floated as a contender for that role than Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton. Indeed, even former Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin thinks Clinton is a superior choice to Biden. And, as it turns out, so does Palin’s former running mate, John McCain.

From the Huffington Post’s storyon McCain’s remarks:

en. John McCain (R-Ariz.) said Wednesday that it “might be wise” for President Barack Obama to pick Hillary Clinton as his running mate given Vice President Joe Biden’s penchant for saying things that sometimes land him in hot water.

“I think [Obama] might be wise to do that,” McCain said during an appearance on Fox News, when asked about the prospect of Obama tapping Clinton this time around. “But that’s not going to happen, obviously, for a whole variety of reasons.”

In a fit of gasps and laughs, McCain said one reason it won’t happen is because, “I‘m not sure if I were Hillary Clinton I’d want to be on that team.”

McCain’s prediction might not be off – after all, Clinton is one of the few figures in the present administration who inspires something like bipartisan admiration. As McCain suggested later in the interview, a 2016 run might be the wisest choice for the Secretary of State, especially if a Republican incumbent administration exists to argue against.

Palin and McCain are playing an interesting hand. It looks like Obama set up Biden for a fall with the “chains” line, and the administration was going to pull him for another VP. Palin and McCain are now two steps ahead of Obama by overtly telling Obama what to do and who to pick. Perhaps Obama’s only hope at the possibility of reelection is a major shake up, and what better shake up than to get Hillary on board. Now that Palin and McCain have told Obama what to do, he simply can’t do it. The card was played and Obama is stymied. It’s at least an interesting theory…

Actually, I’m glad the 2008 pick was McCain instead of a legitimate conservative. It’s as if the GOP elititists knew to sacrifice him and Palin that year instead of trying to win against the “messiah”. Thankfully Palin has made a place for herself at the conservative table in spite of the GOP and wasn’t destroyed as many GOP elitists have hoped for.
Romney is no better than McCain, but gives hope to conservatives with his VP choice, Paul Ryan who will go on to become president in 2020 (if this country is still in one piece) and bring some real sanity back to the office.

McCain has always been a Republican Progressive. No surprise that he would try to help the progressive cause. The only reason this stuff about Obama is coming out now is because Soros wants it to. They have been positioning Hillary for VP for about a year now. Soros has been dissapointed with Obama for a while. Remember that presidential look on the cover of the magazine featuring Hillary last year? God help us all if she ever becomes president! She studied directly under Saul Alensky and it is rumored that she argued for him on the point that to win the revolution revolutionaires needed to infiltrate the highest levels of government. It has happened folks. She wrote her college paper on how great communism is. She is a bigger communist than Obama. We should all be afraid if she ever becomes president.

First, and sombody PLEASE correct me if I am wrong, the repeal of Sections 20 and 32 of the Glass–Steagall Act was aproved by President Clinton to “stimulate” the economy. It worked, however it also led to the financial crisis that we are now in.

Fast forward to today. Hillary, in my opinion, never would WANT to be obamas Vice President. obama is controlled by valerie jarrett, Hillary wouldn’t even CONSIDER, in my opinion, playing second fiddle to her. Hillary took the job, and i bet you she DEMANDED IT, that would try to keep things on an even keel world wide. I will say this though, while I would have voted for Hillary, if she should EVER consider be Vice President to obama, I would loose ALL respect for her. Yes as Secretary of State she answers to obama but most of the time she is off on her own without obama beside her.

I liked the Clinton years, I made a LOT of money but after the economy started to grow and the deficit started to decline, Sections 20 and 32 of Glass–Steagall should have been reinstated. Bill didnt do it before he left office though and then Bush let it continue to be when 9/11 happened.

Glass–Steagall Sections 20 and 32 STILL havent been reinacted but COUNTLESS other idiotic things that strangle business have been. obama and jarrett just have no common sense and Hillary WONT be a part of their IDIOCY.

I dont like Romney, I like Ryan, they have got to be better than obama/ jarrett/ biden. GOD I hope so.

I am an Antique Dealer. Most would with ease call me a thief. Because I am an “Antique Dealer” I steal from people. Yea thats my fathers view. F*** him too. My wife and soulmate died in September of 2000. I wont lie as a result. Someday I’d like to see her again. I DONT LIKE LIARS AND THIEVES. Any person that “believes” truly and honestly in a politician….. well your just an idiot. Tell you what. BECOME a politician and then look me in the eyes after you have won office and tell me that NOBODY is putting pressure on you to vote this way or that way. Tell me you feel NO pressure to change they way you REALLY feel. Tell me honestly you will ALWAYS tell those that put pressure on you to F*** off. Guess what….. you will NEVER win election again. PROVE TO ME I AM WRONG. PROVE TO ME THAT IF YOU STAND FOR CORRECT MORALS, YOU WILL NEVER SELL OUT THAT THE PEOPLE WILL WIN. You cant. You do what you are told to do or you loose your job. You know it same as I do. WE NEED EVERYONE TO STAND UP AND SAY NO. But there are no real men. Tell me I am wrong, somebody. Please tell me I am wrong.

I agree with you SOMEWHAT. but not totally. The election was won or lost between Hillary and obama. obama had MILLIONS OF DOLLARS FROM OVERSEAS which in my opinion should not be legal, MILLIONS OF UNACOUNTABLE REFILLABLE CREDIT CARDS WITH NO NAMES ATTACHED TO THEM. He had the media and still does because it “sends a thrill up their legs” to support the first black President. People vote for what is popular. Did you hear that???? PEOPLE VOTE FOR WHAT IS POPULAR. Most people have no idea what is best for the entire country and they DONT CARE. Rock is popular this week so they follow that, RAP is popular next week so they follow that. Most people have no TRUE intelligence. They follow the CROWD. What is hip. What is POPULAR. People are IDIOTS, not all but a large majority. There is a large majority that is smart, but there is a LARGER MAJORITY that votes based upon popularity AND WE ALL SUFFER FOR IT.

THESE ARE FACTS. YOU DONT HAVE TO LIKE THEM, JUST ACCEPT THE TRUTH.

Obama should take advice from John McCain on how to win an election?…Are we talking about THE John McCain?…Now, Obama may or may not be a brainiac…and I’m certainly not the brightest bulb…
Why would Hillery Clinton want to soil herself in Obama’s soil?
Hillery would be King in 2016 and after four more years of Barack Obama Democrats will be lucky if they aren’t hunted down and lynched. Clinton needs for Romney to win in Nov. It will improve her prospects considerably.

I hate to say it… and it’s only speculation on my part, but if Hillary had kicked Slick Willie to the curb… walked out of the White House while setting all Dem women straight regarding their vote for a stain on our White House, our country and his philandering and lying ways… she would probably have slapped Obama into the next year during the ‘08 Dem Primaries… and would probably be President now. Not that I really care for THAT idea either mind you.

TIME, PROG, I‘m still pissed about how McCain became the candidate for ’08. At one point he was out of money and loosing, then ends up being the last man standing? I would really like to know where he got his last minute financing from? Not a conspiracy theorist or anything, but I still think that he got some sudden help from the left. He also played to nice to the left in his own special way, and that makes me consider that he must have done so to secure further financial help.

I am a BIG fan of Palin but now I am questioning her loyalities!! Palin does NOT like Romney but that does NOT excuse her behavior – she is acting like a LOSER. And now she wants the Republicans to lose to Obama. I don’t know if I can ever respect her opinion again!! Romney does NOT give Palin a speaking slot at the convention so now she is hoping our ticket loses??? Palin has sunk pretty low!!!!

What are the odds that Palin thinks that Obama is going to ditch Biden due to some phoney sudden illness (dementia?). If she (or McCain I guess) get out in front of it and give Obama the advice to pick Hillary, can he really take the advise of the most despised member of the Tea Party without looking like a fool. By them putting it out there, maybe they’re cutting Obama off at the knees. I think I may have just become a conspiracy theorist.
