McCain: Romney ‘Improving Dramatically as a Candidate’

McCain: Romney Improving Dramatically as a Candidate

NBC

Arizona Republican Sen. John McCain said Sunday Mitt Romney is “improving dramatically” as a GOP candidate for president, despite several recent primary losses.

McCain, who has endorsed his former 2008 rival, was asked how Romney can expect to do well in the general election when he’s still struggling to knock his primary opponents out of the race.

“Obviously, Mitt Romney will tell you, first of all, he’s got to do a better job,” McCain said on NBC’s “Meet the Press.“ ”He’s working on doing a better job. He’s got to focus more on the economy. He’s been giving major speeches on the economy and jobs. And I think he is improving dramatically as a candidate.”

He blamed the rise of super PACs, as well as the proportional delegate apportionment system, for prolonging the race, which he called the “nastiest I have ever seen.”

“Any campaign before we had winner-take-all,” he said. “If it was winner-take-all, you would have seen those numbers significantly different.”

Blasting the Supreme Court for the influence of super PACs — which proliferated under the decision of Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission — McCain called the ruling the “worst decision the United States Supreme Court has made in many years,“ and said it came from ”naivete and sheer ignorance.”

Despite his wish for the primary season to come to an end, McCain stopped short of calling on former House Speaker Newt Gingrich to drop out — whom he said would probably stay in “as long as he has bus fare.”

He also dismissed the possibility of a brokered GOP convention this summer, saying “I just don‘t think it’s going to happen.”

“I think Mitt is going to win in Illinois on Tuesday,” McCain said. “It’s going to be OK, in my view it’s gone on way too long….and again, who is going to benefit from it? President Obama.”

Watched M Romney on fox news Sunday and I must say he is more polished to answer questions…sounded very stable and had some serious decent and thoughtful replies to Chris Wallace. We were surprised and pleased.

The others are like having a melt down or something. I’ll cut gas to $$$…and RS in Puerto Rico…amazing stupid comment that will haunt him forever…even if you believe that way, you don’t answer that way to get into office. Tired of those guys. Time to end this dumb race soon.

Just wanted to float an Idea out there:
      1. Romney does not get 1144 delegates going into FL and that looks to be the case. 2. We broker the convention and nominate Michael Reagan as our nominee along with Rand Paul as VP.

That is a clear winning ticket leaving Obummer with both little time to come up with a smear campaign and little popular opinion too accept the smear of Reagan and Paul. Also, it wiould be great to have true patriots in the whitehouse.

Isn‘t it finally time for ’Juan’ McCain to hang up his spurs (before he tries to get another illegal alien amnesty bill passed)???:

    ——————
“Secure America and Orderly Immigration Act (”McCain-Kennedy Bill,” S. 1033) was an immigration reform bill introduced in the United States Senate on May 12, 2005 by Senators John McCain and Ted Kennedy. It was the first of its kind since the early 2000s in incorporating legalization, guest worker programs, and border enforcement components.”

Hard to ‘improve” on the facts of one’s past …. unless, like OBastard, you simply re-write history.

Of course, Romney has taken quite a few stands similar to OBastard, from socialized medicine to his campaigns of personal destruction Unfortunately, Romney will never, ever be able to out-OBastard Obastard, and stands no chance of winning against The Evil One if the only battle plan is to spend huge amounts on negative advertisements. OBastard will ALWAYS be able to spend more and be more vile.

So – how, exactly, has Romney improved?

If you don’t believe me, just look up the Clinton and Reagan executive orders which are revoked in section 803.
