McCain: Sarah Palin Would Make a ‘Very Formidable’ Candidate

Sen. John McCain said he thinks his former vice presidential nominee would make a “very formidable” candidate if she were to join the race for the GOP nomination.

The Arizona senator said Sarah Palin has not reached out to him about the possibility of making a bid, and declined to say whether he thought she should.

“That’s a decision that is so personal,” McCain told CBS’ “Face the Nation” Sunday. “[But] I think she would be very formidable.”

McCain noted that it’s still early in the campaign and “a lot of things are going to happen” that will likely change everything, recalling that this time in 2007, his own presidential campaign was considered doomed.

The former Republican nominee said one such potential game-changer could be former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, whom he said he’s heard could be getting into the race.

Using the same words he used to describe Palin, McCain said of Giuliani, “I think he would be very formidable.”

Speculation over Palin’s possible entry into the presidential race reached fever pitch Friday after her political action committee released this video:

      Save your money. She doesn’t need it. However, I’m considering sending some to her, even if she doesn‘t announce she’s running, just to support her traveling around the country some more. Watching the reporters chase her around like papazzi is priceless.

      Agree with someone else…..if you don’t like her, don’t vote for her. If you are tired of hearing about her, tell your lamestream media you don’t want to hear about her. THEY are the ones that constantly harp on about her, no one else. If you are tired, it’s because they made you tired. It’s your choice to be a good little sheep if you wish. No doubt if she runs, the media will waste ALL of their time and resources into destroying her.       Well now if McCain is endorsing her then there is ANOTHER reason NOT to nominate her . What is the other reason you ask ? Because she CAN’T win a general election which gives us 4 more years of obozo . Liking her isn’t a intelligent winning strategy ,nominating someone who can win should be our focus. Like it or not she has been tainted by the lib media to independents and moderates. No candidate is going to be perfect but the nominee should be capable of winning a general election.

      PALIN is what we need. All the other candidates are bunch of elitist. The MSM is quiet on the other candidates bc they are flawed. PALIN make the elitist in Washington run scared. Only woman that went after the elitist and won. Washington is scared she will change the status quo.

      The only thing Sarah “The Bimbo” Palin is doing at this point is making people sick. As they said on the Sunday News programs yesterday, she can only “tease” so many times. If she does finally run, which I don’t think she will because team assembled, but if she does, I’m tempted to support her run just so that I can have joy of watching President Obama kick her but all the back to Alaska.

I believe that she is just about bullet proof now. She will put her hand on the Bible and take her oath with pride, and mean it. She will be president to ALL the American people not a selected few….

    She won’t PUNISH her enemies, nor will she tell them to sit at the back of the bus, she won’t remind them that I WON, you lost, she won’t complain about what she inherited (and a mess she will inherit) and she will play nice with both sides if they are serious about doing the PEOPLE’S business.

    No Republican I know voted for McCain (The Man Who Wasn’t There) in the last election, they ALL voted for Sarah Palin. My neighbor even doctored the campaign sticker on his car to read Palin/McCain before the election, and then, post-election, modified the sticker once again, dropping McCain to just read Palin. Sarah Palin makes me think of that ad slogan from yesteryear: Beef. Real Food For Real People.

    I have never been impressed with McCain. I thought that he was the democrats choice for a republican candidate.

    Sarah Palin, with the right VP choice, could mobilize the grass roots of this country. It could be a landslide. I think the team is the key factor, because initially she won’t have the support of the RNC.
    Let’s face it, our Congress is riddled with “lifers” and “porkers” on both sides of the aisle. All of them, regardless of party, would be worried about the repercussions of a Palin Presidency. Why, she might propose something as wacky as……..term limits. The horror!!!

      I’ll bet it made Sarah Palin sick to her stomach having to help McCain out last year in Arizona! She had to though for him picking her in 08! Now she can ignore this Progressive fool and save America from Marxists! I love that she taunts them and deflects all their manufactured accusations and attacks! She is what we need! No more fake conservatives like Bush and establishment Republicans like Rove! She epitomizes the TP plowing through all the name calling from Marxists and thats what they fear most! When their Saul Alinsky tactics stop working they have nothing left!

      @Banter…You have that exactly right. I never liked McCain…but God used him to introduce us to Sarah. Glenn had spoken about her on his Fox show, I believe even before MCCain chose her, and I believe McCain’s wife was the one who pointed him to her. Sarah honors McCain because of his military service which is something close to her heart…her son serves. Sarah gave up her governorship in Alaska because of the lawsuits..from the liberal camp. She thought it better to let Alaska off the hook and do somethng more constructive. She has been a driving force in the Tea Party. Praise God. I stand by Sarah all the way.

    McLame is one of those “friends” you want to keep an eye on. He won’t… and hasn’t in the past… to throw Palin under the bus.
    Not to mention… who just really gives a rat’s backside what a guy like him thinks about anything political? Just sayin’…

      That seems to be the thing with elections nowadays. I cast a vote for McCain, but I wasn’t voting for McCain. I was voting to keep Obama out.
