McConnell Won’t Back Down From Top Priority: ‘Deny Obama a Second Term’

Recently, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell has come under fire for his comments that the most important job for new GOP leadership is to make Obama a one-term president.
On Thursday, McConnell refused to back down from that position:
Over the past week, some have said it was indelicate of me to suggest that our top political priority over the next two years should be to deny President Obama a second term in office. But the fact is, if our primary legislative goals are to repeal and replace the health spending bill; to end the bailouts; cut spending; and shrink the size and scope of government, the only way to do all these things it is to put someone in the White House who won’t veto any of these things. We can hope the President will start listening to the electorate after Tuesday’s election. But we can’t plan on it.

Posted on November 4, 2010 at 4:58pmDeny him a second term????? I want his butt out now. Impeach the bastard.
Let’s lower ourselves just a small tiny degree and do to him what the progressives did to Bush.
We were protected under Bush, remember 911??.. He did his job and did not allow another attack to happen throughout the balance of his term(s).
In the last 2 years after the progressives took over the house and senate, they claimed Bush couldn’t even tie his shoe laces correctly. Remember the constant attacks on him which were all completely without merit, or substance?? Anything went. And the press did their job wonderfully. One sided fabrications.
barry is destroying the country from within. Lets do to him what they did to Bush. The difference, we won’t need to fabricate, lie, deceive, or misguide. We can do it honorably and accurately using the record at hand.

Posted on November 4, 2010 at 4:45pmWay to go! but, if we can’t get the tax cuts/breaks that America needs, then you take away his chances for another four years of destruction. When will someone realize we must get rid of the Czars. They are the ones driving this train. If the Czars fall, then so will Obama.

Posted on November 4, 2010 at 4:44pmBeware the emporers new clothes! In the glow of a victory it’s very easy to gloat. What will happen when the stuff hits the fan for the first time? Is it going to be the same old proclivity to do what’s expedient, or will the ‘pubs do what’s right? I’m going to hold my opinion to see which way they go. I’ll keep my powder dry and my money (hopefully a precious metal) in my pocket. I don’t trust either side based on their performance over the last 40 years. If they want my trust they are going to have to do it the Smith Barney way…Earn it. I believe the American people rejected the Dems; they did not endorse the ‘pubs. Except for Marco Rubio and Cliff Stearns (I’m in Florida) I held my nose with every other ‘pub I voted for.

Posted on November 4, 2010 at 4:38pmThat is a great plan to disallow this liar and phoney from seeking a 2nd term, but my suggestion I believe is more appropriate and that is to IMPEACH HIM NOW! Come on GOP he is spending 200 MILLION A DAY for ten days to see a light festival He is the epitomy of government waste, and I do not believe for one minute that he has any intention of changing direction for his agenda to destroy American. You all know this even better than I do. Let’s really get serious men, IMPEACH him upon return from his latest boondoggle and stop him dead in his track from doing any more damage to our country and to the American people. The time for intestinal fortitude is now you men and women who have been elected to make it better, can only really make it better with this obstacle out of the way. You KNOW he is a hard corp socialist and you KNOW he has no intention of stopping the direction given to him by his puppet master. IMPEACH Obama before its too late for all of us please.

Republicans must demonstrate consistency, dignity and personal honor in their political conduct.
A great ticket in opposition to Obama would be Haley Barbour and John Thune. We can remove Mr. Obama by presenting normalcy, accomplishment and sincerity of purpose with our 2012 nominees.
Sen. McConnell will receive bi partisan votes on elements of Obama care repeal, financial sector legislation and energy policy. Democrats such as Jim Webb and Joe Manchin are not going to drink Draino for Barack Obama with elections in 2012.
America wins when Mr. Obama and his marginal’s are sent down.

Posted on November 4, 2010 at 4:28pmDoes anyone think the first POLITICAL priority of the opposing party is to keep the other party’s President IN OFFICE?
The Republicans believe the policies and laws implemented by this administration are harming the country, consistent with that belief is the goal of getting this trouble-maker out of the oval office.
The President called the Republicans plenty of dirty names, called for their loss in the upcoming elections, and he expects something different from the Republicans?
I believe they call it the golden rule – Treat others as you would have them treat you – POTUS treats Republicans as the “enemy”, the Republicans return the favor.

Posted on November 4, 2010 at 4:58pmInasmuch as Obama represents and powers the Progressive agenda, he may serve as a metonymic focus for the Right.
In other words, there is so much Obama has done, and is doing, to further the Progressive agenda, that to make sure he doesn’t have a second term is an effective way to greatly hinder that agenda.
So, there’s a lot wrapped up in the desire to ensure that Obama is a one term President. It really misses the point (on purpose, I might add) to say that McConnell “ONLY” wants to make sure Obama doesn’t get re-elected.
McConnel, along with repeal of Obamacare and the Financial Regulatory Bill, can you please continually attempt to impeach this traitor, as well as the rest of the Progressives who are also traitors?
