We already mentioned that the protests turned violent this morning in New York after protesters, emboldened by the decision not to evict them from their home base, marched on the New York Stock Exchange. In our previous story we had video catching the tail end of an incident involving a protester and police on scooters.
(Related: Bloomberg says park owner received “threatening” calls from politicians)
Now we have more video showing what that appears to show the actual moment the clash began — or at least a similar incident — courtesy of the New York Post:*
The protester can be heard screaming for the media as he is being arrested.

A New York City police officer runs over a National Lawyers Guild observer as Occupy Wall Street demonstrators march through the streets near Wall Street, Friday, Oct. 14, 2011, in New York. (Photo: AP)
WCBS-TV explains what happened:
Police urged protesters to stay out of the street and stay on the sidewalk.
Police scooters were shaped like a V and moved toward the protesters in the standoff. One man lost his balance, and was run over by a police scooter. Police descended on the protester and got him out from under the bike. Some witnesses tell Sandberg the man was beaten during the arrest.
“We had somebody knock over a scooter, there were some arrests here — I don’t know what the charges were — there were people in the street the police officer was trying to get them out of the street, this was down near the exchange,” New York City Police Department’s Deputy Commissioner of Public Information Paul Browne said.
First Precinct Commander Ed Winski checked a protester who refused to stay on the sidewalk. When the protester came back into the street, Winski hurled his megaphone down and wound up rolling around in the street with the protester, throwing punches. Other officers surrounded the two, throwing punches. The protester was arrested.
[...]
Police say the protesters were throwing bottles and bags of garbage at officers, triggering the police response, Sandberg reported. Police say they were trying to control the situation when it got out of hand.
*UPDATE:
More video of the incident has surfaced showing a clearer picture of what happened. It shows the incident captured in the AP photos. However, it also appears to be a separate incident than the one mentioned in our earlier story and shown in the NY Post video (content warning for graphic language):

Posted on October 14, 2011 at 11:07amConspiracy Theory:
Report Post »The administration is hoping to cancel or postpone the 2012 elections as Gov. Perdue recommends. Only way to postpone the election is declare martial law. Only way to do this is by declaring that public safety is at risk and something needs to be done on a national level. This means that some sort of violent uprising event needs to occur. NY tells protestors they will nned to leave the park to perform maintenance. Protestors, say try it and see what happens. Adminstration knows this is not close enough to 2012 elections for their purpose and calls NY to say back off until we tell you when; creates the violent uprising according to plan, hence martial law.
There is plenty of video calling for violent revolt available on the web from the speakers at these rallies. The administration vocally announced their support for the protests. The underlying call is a call for socialism, the administrations and lefties ultimate goal. Is it just a conspiracy theory?
Lloyd Drako
Posted on October 14, 2011 at 12:20pmPerdue did not recommend cancelling or postponing elections. She merely expressed the wish–common I‘m sure to many politicians who’ve had to endure the electoral circus–that they. Her tone was one of jocular exasperation, not serious intent.
So far there has been next to no violence. What violence did you see in this video? I saw demonstrators crossing a barrier, and police doing their job. The video I saw here did not show the man on the ground yelling “Media!” or how he got there.
Even if the protests did turn violent in NYC, that would not constitute a national emergency, still less an occasion for martial law nationwide. The authorities did not back off their demand for the protesters to leave Zuccotti Park on orders from Washington that “the time is not right.” Doesn’t it seem more likely that they made the shrewd calculation that cold weather will soon drive most of the campers out of the park anyway, and the small number who remain, should they constitute a hard core determined to use violence, can be more easily handled with less risk of innocents getting hurt?
Obama, has expressed predictable sympathy with some of the redistributionist aims of OWS. He has not endorsed any and all methods of attaining those aims. If he wants anything to come of this movement, it’s most likely that participants should go home and canvass and vote for him next year.
There’s your conspiracy.

Posted on October 14, 2011 at 2:36pmDaddy Hawg: Your observation is correct. Federal employees and retirees (I am one of these) know this quite well, as well as the fact that every single Federal regulation contains the “exigency provision.” Upon the President’s declaration that an exigency exists, the President and the Secretary of each federal Department are authorized to override all in-place Federal regulations. This is in addition to the President’s sure-to-come declaration of nationwide martial law and rule from the White House. I’ve known this is what this President is after ever since his first few months in the White House.

Report Post »Now for the real reason I am replying to your comment. Electoral circus? You mean the one that is set forth in the constitution to give us THE PEOPLE the power of the vote to get them out if they don’t represent our values? The one that she expressly mentions when she says that if politicians don’t fear to be accountable for their actions and the consequences of being voted out tehy would put CONSENSUS first? The one the they of their own free will signed up for? What she is expressing on that video is what you liberals want, CONSENSUS, which is code talk for ‘our liberal way or the highway’, in other words, no opposition, whatever Oblahma wants, he gets because it‘s better to be one homogenous group than to show any disagreement with the messiah’s intelligent solutions. That is what they have in China, in Cuba, in Venezuela (my native country) in Korea, etc. Can you tell me which one of those homogenous, non-partisan paradises you want to go live in? I’ll buy you a one-way ticket and then -if they allow you to- you can send me a postcard telling me how good you have it. What do you say?

Posted on October 14, 2011 at 3:16pmSimply declaring Martial Law would not be enough to suspend elections. It would have to come by way of Executive orders during a State of Emergency. The problem with just the idea of complete Martial Law is that under that scenario a Military Commander becomes the Chief Governor of the States.
But there is also a further problem with just Martial Law. The US Military following the Civil War and WWII was restricted by the 1878 legislation known as POSSE COMITATUS ACT, which prevents Military involvement in domestic law enforcement without CONGRESSIONAL approval. On October 1, 2002 Bush passed legislation that formed the United States Northern Command which provides for Military support of civilian command and State by State Law Enforcement assistance. National Guard unless Congressional Authorized is under the several States’ Governors control. The way the current Law reads, nothing short of an Executive Order can alter command and control of the National Guard, and the Military even in a declared Martial Law is prevented from acting autonomously by presidential command with-in the 50 States.
Obama would have to Declare a State of Emergency first, then declare Martial Law (not total Martial Law because that would make the top Military Commander the defacto leader of America. From there he would declare what’s known as a Constitutional Dictatorship by way of Executive Order.

Posted on October 14, 2011 at 4:20pmHistory is the teacher here. If these protests don’t continue to grow (and they’ve likely reached their fullest potentional at this point) then they will burn out. The protesters have to start getting more violent in order for the protests to continue moving in any direction of the protests will disolve. This gaggle of professional leftists and their compliant college student foot soldiers didn’t see the gesture from the property owners to delay the clean up as a good will one, they see it as a sign of weakness. This is apparent in the comments coming from the park..”they’ll have to get an army to get us out of here now”..etc. Make no mistake, they want a confrontation, this is why the little urchin that was run over by a scooter screamed for the media. They want these images all over the news in order to manipulate the uninformed. They‘ve been playing a game of provocation with the police since this started and they will at some point revert back to the left’s violent nature. It’s only a matter of time.

The end of the sentence in question should have read, “–that they could cancel or postpone elections.“ You yourself misspelled ”they“ as ”tehy“ and ”Obama“ as ”Oblahma.” What are you, an English teacher? If not, enough with the cheap shots.
It takes us billions of campaign dollars and a year or more to elect a president. In fact, at the presidential level, the campaigning never stops. Not to mention our grotesque political “debates” which are not really proper debates at all. Look at it from the politician’s point of view: saying things you don’t really mean, promising things you know you can’t deliver, making nice with people you dislike, endlessly rehearsing the same weary talking points, constantly fending off “gotchas” from opponents. Who wouldn’t wish there was another way? Perdue clearly does, and, as I said, she was expressing frustration, but in an offhand way, not as a serious political proposal.

They do not realize that the tolerance authority is displaying under the system they want to change is 1,000 more times accepting to public demonstration than the institutions that will supplant the current ones. As Yuri Bezmenov taught, once the change is set into motion, there will be no need for these people, and by that time most of the working class will just want them to go away and things to return to “normal”, and the new regime will be more than happy to provide that. And once everyone sees how these folks in the street are dealt with, everyone else will place the fear they once had in God into Government.
But they are too short sighted to see that boot coming, and their ignorance is going to enslave every meek individual to a collective salvation where the only incentive to produce is either a whip or trip to the Gulags of Alaska.

Wise recommendations, but I think people should be braced and prepared NOW. When people come along the Ohio River on the Ohio side, when the trouble begins, they will be welcome to muster on my property, and whatever I have to share will be shared. Since 9-11 my family has been quietly and gradually preparing for any worst case scenario. Come up State Route 39 toward Salineville. Posted on October 15, 2011 at 12:06amI have for quite a while believed and stated my belief that Obama is wishing for a reason to proclaim martial law.
Obama has done too many things that make no sense in the sense of “correcting” whatever situation arises (or is created) in any realistic sense. But if you follow a logical progression of “results” of his actions, Obama is fomenting dissent and division and gives a wink and a nod to those who are willing to call for violence and / or revolution.
The only logical conclusion to civil chaos would be a declaration of martial law.
But Obama should be very careful, to carry out an order of martial law, one requires the military to carry out such orders.
Will the military carry out such orders, or will they chose to surround the White House?

I see nothing more in it than an expression of exasperation and frustration, which we all share, at Congress seeming inability to get much done. Posted on October 14, 2011 at 2:01pmCulperGang, you’re probably right, but it’s a lost cause, because most people don’t think past what they’re going to eat for their next meal. Getting people to understand that Obama is a pathological liar is an accomplishment in itself, even though one only has to listen to him for about 15 minutes to figure this out. How much more difficult do you think it will be to get people to understand how the Fed weaves a complicated web that controls every aspect of our lives? If it’s any consolation, when the bankers behind the Fed impose a one world currency and that gives rise to a one world government, you can always say “I told you so” when dissenters are being marched off to concentration camps.

Man you need to read a history book.
If you break the law (as in interfering with reasonable Police activities to enforce the rights of a private property owner to clear their park), means that the Police may need to subdue you the same way they would subdue any other law breaker.
The elites are corrupt and they deserve to be thrown in jail, just like anyone else that breaks the laws. The problem with your argument is that you ignore the fact that many of the crappy things that the Banks and the Politicians have done to the system are perfectly legal at this time. You need to find out how the system ACTUALLY works, not just parts of it.
We need to be willing to do the hard work to get the laws changed. We SHOULD NOT implode the building with everyone inside like a Revolution will do. The French tried this and it ended with children being executed, and Napoleon as Dictator. It always ends like that.
Never run FROM a bad system. Instead, run TO a better one. Show me the “Occupiers” plan for a better one. Our Founding Fathers had one, and it worked.

The MSM and their owners, the democratic/socialists have done their best to make these ‘occupiers’ look rather peaceful and just the ‘salt of the earth’ and ‘children’, In reality we know that the protesters are socialists and communists and a group of ‘rent a mob’ members. They protest any left wing cause that comes down the pike. They are joined by unions, black racists like Sharpton, and millionaire actors who want ‘face time’. When those are not enough to get more attention, then they start fights and become violent. Violence is the second stage of these protests. Watch as the violence increases. They need to spin the violence as ‘police brutality’. They want to revive the ‘60’s’.

Posted on October 14, 2011 at 10:49amBe prepared for the media to try to elicit sympathy for these pathetic dupes of the wannabe tyrants. Remember, the purpose of these demonstrations is to produce the chaos to justify the declaration of martial law, suspension of the Constitution and final consolidation of the tyrant’s power. http://commonsense21c.com/

Posted on October 14, 2011 at 10:48amSo it now commenses; expect the violence to escalate throughtout the day and into the weekend with the world wide uprising and protests expected tommorow. How many cities are going to be burning and leadership in a panic by monday? How soon will Mr Obama crack down on the nation once and for all — igniting the civil war all over again?
Watch for him to make a move tonight or tommorow, for in the shadows of the week ending is when he often makes the plays for gaining of power.

Posted on October 14, 2011 at 10:48amThis is just the beginning they are now emboldened:
“We came together, we got the support we needed and we won. This is huge for us. We showed them that our solidarity and commitment to the cause is stronger than the threat of arrest. We’re on a roll. Nothing can stop us now.”
Allison Schwartz 22, a waitress, said the protest will continue.
Report Post »“I can’t believe it. I thought it was all over. I was so ready to be arrested,” she said. “I thought that’s what it was going to come down to. This changes everything. I’ve never been more confident that we are all going to make a difference. They’re going to need an army to stop us now. A few cops won’t make a difference.”

Posted on October 14, 2011 at 10:49amThere will be an army coming — one first of the protesters, then of the gangs and hoods using the chaos for their own gains, and then Obama admin with steel and fire coming down from above.

Posted on October 14, 2011 at 5:22pmThat protestor clearly and purposefully put his feet in the way of the police scooter and I seriously doubt that even the tire went over him (his feet). And then he screams like his leg is getting cut off. It is so staged it is pathetic. I bet his mom weighs more than that bike. MAJOR FAIL

Posted on October 14, 2011 at 10:46amIn the mob you lose your individuality, your voice, and your humanity. Right and wrong are thrown out the window, where only chaos can rule. Chaos is the playground for evil.
“We are Legion. We are many.” That flyer being passed around should send a chill through any decent human being.

Posted on October 14, 2011 at 11:03amThe pigs and the protestors are on the same team. They are both pawns being moved into sacrificial positions. It‘s ridiculous to get angry at protestors for not having a permit and not being mad at the fact that pigs’ very existence violates the constitution.
Both “sides” suck. I support sheriffs, not pigs.

Posted on October 14, 2011 at 10:56amLike it, or not, this is a freedom of speech being exercised. I don’t agree with them but, I agree they have the right to do what they are doing. When it turns violent, then they need to go home. They do not have the right to interfere with other’s day-to-day business. If they are not breaking the law, let them protest.

Posted on October 14, 2011 at 11:44amThe key words are “peaceably assemble”. The police should protect their right to assemble and address their complaints but also should use the same intensity to protect the rights of other citizens. If I desire to enter a store or drive down a street and someone interferes with my movement then police should react accordingly.

Posted on October 14, 2011 at 10:42amSounds like it’s time for the cops to form a wedge on foot for some good old “stomp and drag” riot control. For those of you who never trained in this stomp and drag means to stomp the left foot in unison then drag the inside edge of the right boot’s sole on the pavement. Makes a noise that is as hair raising as a jacking a round into a pump shotgun. Also, instead of using the three foot baton go with the 42 inch chainsaw. Makes an even scarier sound. When the crowd does this hit them back with some real shock and awe instead of scooters.
