Meek Supporters Playing Dirty in Florida?

Election Journal brings news (and video) of some pundits toeing the line between following and breaking the rules at a polling place down in Florida.

In that state’s heated three-way battle for U.S. Senate between Charlie Crist (I), Marco Rubio (R), and Kendrick Meek (D), it appears some Democratic supporters were breaking polling-place laws by campaigning too close to the actual polls (laws say they can’t be withing 100 feet). A poll worker brought out a measuring tape and forced the sign-and-bull-horn-toting campaigners to move back (and marked that line with a cone). It seems the workers took that more as a suggestion than a command:

Still, some may complain that the poll worker and the videographers were being too technical — what’s 99 feet compared to 100? The answer is that the spirit of the law is in place to protect voters from unruly campaigning, intimidation, and harassment. Sadly, even if these workers were at 105 feet they would have been violating that spirit.

For now, they are just guilty of violating the letter of the law. But that might be the least of their offenses.

I vote in Volusia County, in Deltona and there were markers set out at the 100′ distance…and then there were at least 3 people and 6 signs in an area about 40′ from the door to the polling place. I asked about this inside, and was told that the precinct manager “allowed” these people to break the law. Period. No argument. “Why are they allowed inside the 100′ zone?“ ”Because I said so, that’s why!” I took pictures, but doubt anything will be done.

My only consolation is that the ballots were paper, with little circles that had to be filled in with a black pen. No electronics here. Of course, the computers that read the ballots can be rigged…

@TPaine, I would have told the precinct manager “Fine, I guess I’ll have to do your job for you” and started taking the illegally-placed signs down myself while having a trusted person video my actions. I would love for that corrupt precinct manager to try to have me arrested, particularly on video. That would’ve made national news.

Did any of you not expect to see this again. The INjustice dept. has given blacks a green light to do whatever they please at polling places with no fear of being prosecuted.

whats 99 ft compared to 100 ft…Well the obvious answer is that 99 < 100. Lack of basic math skills doesn't surprise me since public schools don't educate children well, though that is another issue all-together.

If those were republican signs and people, the police would’ve been called, Media Matters would’ve sent in a squad to document it, heck even Soros himself may have crawled out from his Spooky, Evil Guy lair to personally get involved…. of course, Al Sharpton would be there to decry how blacks are victims and there must be an increase in stay at home, don’t look for work checks for them…

Hey, we’re Obama supporters. We can do what we want. 5 feet, 100 feet, a law… who follows laws? You have Black Panther members intimidating voters at a voting station and this stupid Justice Department says “no problem”, so do you expect others of‘ let’s say “similar skin color” to have any kind of problem doing whatever they want to do at other voting places? Wake up.

Based solely upon what is displayed in this video up there, all violators are blacks. This may or may not be entirely true, our video view is limited. Nonetheless, this does suggest polling place voting violations are predominately committed by blacks, at this specific polling place.

Reminds me of Black Panthers at another polling place.

    Is this a cultural issue?

      Seriously?
The “black” woman and “black” man were the ones pointing out the libs who were breaking the rules. Those 2 “black” people were offended by the underhanded tactics the same as you.

I can tell you the common thread in all the people who are breaking election laws, they are all liberal. Skin colors are not the common thread here my friend.

A few years back, I was at a polling place holding signs for GOP candidates, such as Bush, well, WELL out of the 100 ft mark. A Fort Campbell officer‘s spouse drove by and started yelling at me about how I’m not supposed to be there, blah blah blah. She said she was going to report me. So I said that as long as I’m past 100 feet, I can be there with any candidate sign and that I’ll call the election commissioner (who happens to be a Dem supporter) for her, even gave her the name of the commish. When she left the polling place, she just drove past because I’m guessing she tried to report me inside and was told that I was allowed to stand where I was. I just smiled and waved.

      Hey Snow et al;

Perhaps we need Steven Segal to remind them that “no one is above the law”. (smile)

They are little people with large amonuts of hatred and a sence of entitlement even as many white men are!
The biggest law breakers are in this present administration and still, nothing being done!
See how the police shirk their duties! This is a disgrace! It is illegal and punishable by law to do these things and no one does a thing about it.

This woman pole watcher was,I believe ,sincere in her beliefs! She has been a pawn of the demorats even as those before her. Keep them down by entitlements and hatred of whitey! The dems and this man in the persidency could care less for any of them ecept to use them for political power!
Why doesn’t old Al and Jackson spread his ill gotten gain with them?

These people are victims of the system and those who lead them! Their hatred is palatable! They believed the lie and so they keep paying the price generation after generation! They hate their own who decide to make choices to improve their lives! There are now more available choices than ever before!

Their leaders spread hatred as a cancer which has destroyed the black man for years and this is what keeps them down! Obama has once again fanned this hatred to separate and divide this nation.
It is a planned Marxist strategy.

The Demorats are the worst eneny of the black man and always have been! The carpetbaggers are alive and well even today! Yet the trend continues! Any mind is a terrible thing to waste!
It matters not whether it is black white et.

God Bless America! The greatest and most generous nation on earth!
