Meet the 8-Year-Old Certified Genius Working Toward a College Degree

Tanishq Abraham likes studying particle physics. The announcement CERN issued Wednesday of the Higgs boson (a.k.a. the “God Particle”) was of particular interest to him. He is at the top of his classes at American River College and even gives guest lectures to fellow students and faculty on a variety of topics.

Abraham was home-schooled until attending college but his schooling didn’t really begin that long ago. You see, Abraham is less than a decade old.

The boy from Natomas, Calif., is what you would consider a prodigy. By the time he was 4-years-old, he was inducted into theĀ genius society MENSA, according to KTXL. Abraham’s parents, KTXL reports, began home-schooling their son when the public school system couldn’t provide him with the intellectual studies he really needed. His parents have even admitted they have a hard time keeping up with him.

Watch the KTXL report on the 8-year-old boy:

As you might expect though, attending college courses at such a young age would come with challenges beyond those of academia, but Abraham doesn’t seem to mind. KTXL reports him saying, “I don’t mind interacting with other college students. I like it.” His parents to try maintain as normal of a life as possible for he and his sister Tiara, 6, who has also been deemed a certified genius.

Abraham was recently profiled for THNKR, a new YouTube channel, hosting a pilot series called “Prodigies.” Check out the episode:

What does the 8-year-old genius want to do when he “grows up”? According to KTXL, he said that he hopes to invent new technologies.

I love how stories like this brings out all the “know it alls”. Frankly, you don’t jack_______. People who “boast” their intelligence are intelligent at all and are seeking attention. Go get your 15 seconds somewhere else like the DU. They appreciate arrogant ___________.

I am happy for this kid. Hooray for home schooling.

It’s called homeschooling. I was homeschooled late in the game but it let me enter university at 15. Homeschool your kids folks! Make sure they finish university by 18 so when they leave home they won’t have to come back. You’ll save yourself roughly $50,000 in living costs and they’ll start earning 4 or 5 years sooner (which is a solid hundred grand).

It is very difficult to understand how there can be this sort of thing. Hopefully, it is a gift from God with an intended good purpose.

Not that hard to understand. I entered university at 15.
Had I been homeschooled like this child, it might have been at 10.
Public school limits human capabilities to mold them as the govt desires.
Most of my time in public school was a waste.

And the mandate to teach “core” classes unrelated to student’s desired fields in college is wrong. Not just because we’ve already learned those things in previous schooling but also because humans are specialist creatures (division of labor). The idea of trying to make every man a “renaissance” man has instead turned half of society into brainless drones.

The government knows well, force them to try to teach everything so the people learn nothing of importance.

doubtful if he will ever contribute to new technologies. Europeans and European Americans are directly responsible for the nearly all of the technological advancements mankind enjoys today and particularly the american breed of the same seems to have the TRUE GENIUS in terms of creativity. Rather than merely absorbing and memorizing facts established by white europeans the US American European immigrants like Nikola Tesla created the technology for the foundation of the modern era and the great Isaac Newton discovered the principles fo Newtonian Physics that have allowed civilization to advance. it sure did not come from asia, or africa.
