Meet Your Friendly Neighborhood Communists

We’ve all made fun of the corny dating phrases that begin something like, “Hi, my name is Jon. I’m a writer, a Capricorn, and I like long walks on the beach.” They rarely ever work. Yet someone must have forgotten to tell the communists — just watch this recruiting video from the Communist Party USA:
The video above, from June and via Weasel Zippers, was featured on the website of CPUSA’s Houston chapter. Coincidentally, one of that group’s leaders just happened to post some thoughts on the election, which explain what your friendly neighborhood communists advocate:
A friend of mine recently reminded me that when there is no tension between opposing forces, there can be no progress. Frederick Douglass said, “Without a struggle, there can be no progress.” This is what is missing today in the class struggle. Working class unity is needed to overcome the powerful influence of the corporations, but this does not mean following the Democratic party program to the letter. Progressives should support Democrats who fight for the interests of the working class and should support policies which favor working class interests. However, we should oppose with all our might any politician and/or policy which favors the interests of the wealthy. If we do this, we can answer the question “Which side are you on?” with a great deal of pride. [Emphasis added]
Now that’s interesting. Also interesting is that leader’s admonishment that, in general, progressives should align themselves with Democrats. Trevor Loudon has more on that over at NewZeal.
Loudon on his blog has uncovered some convenient changes to a CPUSA website: it has apparently scrubbed one of its sites to erase its 2004 support of Barack Obama.
In 2007, CPUSA boasted about that support:

There seems to be two possible explanations. Either CPUSA has pulled its support because Obama isn’t progressive enough, or CPUSA could be protecting the president from scrutiny.

The communists naturally want to protect their “friend” from negative fallout should such associations become publicly known.

Yes, I understand the First Amendment, but it does not extend to those who want to END the First Amendment. There are lines which should not be crossed.
We only tolerate this stuff because they are seen as harmless crackpots. Maybe most of the actual members of the CPUSA are, but their fellow travellers–the academics, the MoveOn.org-bots, the Daily Cause crowd–are not.
Van Jones should have been arrested when he was trying to, in his own words, “organize revolutionary cadres”. Such cadres are trained in deception and violence, and taught that their primary goal is the subversion of our moral and political order.
There is no doubt in my mind he has retained that basic goal, and yet he appears on CNN.
Glenn, you’re doing a great job getting the word out about the mass torture–psychological and physical–ruined lives, and body count that these ideas have led to.
When people think cannibalism and Gestapo when they hear the word Communist, then their vicious doctrine will have died the death it should have died 50 years ago–and would have died, but for cowardly, nihilistic academics and sociopathic opportunists.

There is no such thing as a harmless self-avowed communist. Communism never died, and it was never dormant — only underground. We ignored them at our own peril, thinking our capitalism was too strong to ever fall.
These people may look like Jane and Joe Doe, but they are all “community organizers” who have been emboldened by the fact that one of their own now presides. The real problem is not Van Jones; it’s Obama.

We are letting outsiders take us off of the path that we were on. Everyone is already equal here. But if you want to do nothing then that’s what you will have. If they ever get what they want they will realize they don’t want it. They have never stood in bread lines, to receive one loaf of bread per week per family. They have never stood in lines waiting for crappy medical care from underpaid disgruntled doctors.
When they get what they want and they realize they work for nothing, for total poverty, then they will long for the day that they could be free. They truly don’t have a clue what they want. This is the attitude that comes from 30-50 years of not having to work for provisions. All they know is the state provides for them and they can make up the difference robbing, stealing, and selling drugs.

Suggestions I have read (& maybe other speculations) are:
–This bill, spells it out that everyone will pay the Government 1% of their gross income.
–Page 9 states the House and Senate shall convene not later than
November 23, 2010 and
Page 11 states the vote on passage shall occur not later than December 23, 2010.
…and Who said the post election night Nov.2010-Jan.2011 “LAME DUCK” session would be meek for fear of retribution in 2012?

If we don’t, we will all live in shared misery. Obama even said that we all need to share in the misery. Obviously a lot of the schools today are the problem. Take your kids out of them.

Report Post »I hate the RED association, also! I seem to recall it was tied to a CNN[?] map of the USA during an election results event….and it stuck. Republicans became the red states. I can not imagine how anyone let this slide….and I don’t think it was accidental. The PROGRESSIVES were still hiding their true color back then, and so CNN[?] didn’t want the color RED linked to the Dems. I say we take our color back!
