ATLANTA (AP) — It’s almost unimaginable. No one picked the six correct numbers in the latest multi-state Mega Millions lottery game, sending the jackpot to a record $476 million for the Friday drawing.
Tuesday night’s jackpot was $363 million, fed by weeks of drawings without a top winner. The previous record jackpot in the Mega Millions game was $390 million in 2007, split by two winners in New Jersey and Georgia.
In Tuesday night’s game, 47 players came very close, matching 5 of the 6 winning numbers. Each of those tickets is worth at least $250,000.
Mega Millions is played in more than 40 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
The winning numbers Tuesday night were: Nine, 19, 34, 44 and 51. The Mega Ball was 24.

Posted on March 30, 2012 at 7:35pmI gave up buying lottery tickets for lent. (it’s killing me!!!!!! ~ but I’ll live! lol) No matter how high the jackpot gets, I still get a better payout with Christ. At 10 pm, I will be on my knees in prayer for the person/people that win. That God gives them the wisdom, strength and courage to deal with the blessings that have been bestowed upon them. If you bought a ticket, good luck and may all of your dreams comes true.

Posted on March 28, 2012 at 9:38amI wonder if that is enough money to buy enough land from Canada on down to the Gulf? Just a narrow long strip of land….say big enough for a pipeline? I’d call it the FUME Project.

Posted on March 28, 2012 at 9:06amWe do an office pool. The head of accounting collects the cash, buys them for us and makes everyone a copy of the tickets and our contribution percentage.
We know the odds but, like Gonzo says, it’s worth a buck (if only for the, “see you tomorrow if we don’t win” jokes).

Posted on March 28, 2012 at 9:50amWhen lotteries were legal, fortunes were made
Now government runs them and fortunes are lost
Roughly 1/3 of lottery winners file for bankruptcy in about 5 years
Nearly all of them are bombarded with clever offers from financial scammers
Most have no financial skills prior to wining
Keep your buck
