Meghan McCain: Ronald Reagan ‘Would Be Called a Dirty Moderate Like Me’

Meghan McCain, MSNBC’s newest contributor with a growing laundry list of outlandish comments to her credit, appeared as on Wednesday’s Tonight Show. During the broadcast, the quirky McCain compared herself to conservative icon President Ronald Reagan, asserting that if he were in the presidential race today, “he would be called a dirty moderate like me, unfortunately.”
McCain, who identifies herself as a “big proponent” of same-sex marriage, said that her views have isolated her in Republican circles.
“People don’t think I’m Republican enough because I’m a big advocate of marriage equality in this country. But I’m very proud to do it. My mother joined me. You know, I just —it’s one of the reasons why I love being in politics. I just think this is my generation’s civil rights issue.”
Below is the NBC clip of McCain’s latest bombshell, courtesy of Mediaite:
“I don’t understand! Republicans, you know, can be very hypocritical when you say you’re a strict constitutionalist, and then you’re against — you want to regulate people getting married. I mean, I just don’t understand it.”

I hate to tell you, bud… but we’ve had an illegal immigrant problem WAY before Reagan. You see, When I was growing up, I lived a few blocks from Arlington International Racecourse. (It was just Arlington Park, back then). Well, the stable owners would of course, hire Mexicans for hotwalkers, stall muckers and exercise boys. Those that couldn’t live at the track, lived in an apartment complex towards the south end of town. We called it ‘Little Mexico’ because, well, it was. 4-5 families to one apartment, they did millions of dollars of damage to that complex. We didn’t have many black people near us, so I was unfamiliar with the ‘inner city’, but this was close. This was the nw suburbs of Chicago, and that neighborhood was forever scarred because of that. I used to live on a main thoroughfare to the track, and the Mexicans would walk by going to work and make cat-calls to my friends and me when we were outside playing. I was 5. This was 1977. Before Reagan.

Posted on January 13, 2012 at 4:55amNope, after decades of being a 24/7 NEWS junkie, and after election night, I turned FNC on the next morning to hear Steve Doocy say “…And next up, is Geraldo Rivera, to tell us WHY Obama winning will be good for us”. it was that moment that I literally clicked my remote OFF and Unplugged (from the NEWS media in all forms) and remain so to this day. NO ONE from a TV, magazine or paper “tells me” anything anymore (not even The “Profit Glenn”). Any NEWS I get is from Rush Limbaugh or I seek out information my self, and form an opinion IF i feel i have enough information, if not, I stay neutral until i do. I Follow NO MAN (and especially no Woman) like a lemming.

Report Post »then so must Rush be a Profit. Generally the same message just laid out differently. I follow several men. The short list is Limbaugh, Beck, Levin, Walter Williams. Geraldo Rivera has always been and will always be a Progressive Liberal. FNC has him on to get a different perspective and to be “Fair and Balanced” If you can‘t take the balance then you’re doing the right thing by “I Follow NO MAN” well except for Rush who always says what you want to hear. But I have to say…..you’re sure missing some good stuff on GBTV with The Profit Glenn Beck and the Great One Mark Levin Show.
