Megyn Kelly Exposes Jesse Jackson’s Double Standard on Democracy

On Fox News today, Megyn Kelly hosted Jesse Jackson, who was coming in live from Wisconsin, where a controversial bill banning collective bargaining passed the state Senate yesterday, and the state Assembly today. The bill passed the Senate with no Democrats present for the vote, so Jackson took issue with what he called the “ramrod democracy” of Gov. Scott Walker.

Megyn Kelly Exposes Jesse Jacksons Double Standard on Democracy

A poised, but determined, Kelly pressed him on this issue, reminding him that a procedural maneuver caused health care to be passed through the U.S. Senate with only 51 votes, rather than the typical 60 vote majority needed. Where was Jackson’s protests of “ramrod democracy” then? Here is that exchange (and you can watch it below):

Kelly: We saw this in Washington DC on the health care vote that president Obama wanted. The tea partiers and the Republicans did not want that law to go through and the Democrats did a procedural maneuver in the Senate where they got it through with 51 votes instead of 60. And that’s just life. Now that’s law. Why isn’t the same answer in place now for the Democrats who are losing? They are losing, but they’re losing farily in Wisconsin.

Jackson: More health care for more Americans was not as hurtful as less education, and less health care, and fewer jobs. What you see here is the rise of hurt and people are acting out their democratic rights and sharing their pain. And they want to be heard, and I feel that when they’re steamrolled as they were in the Assembly, and as they are in the Senate, people are going to fight back until the governor hears them and engages in deliberative democracy and not ramrod democracy.

Watch the clip below:

Here’s another telling exchange, which comes later in the interview:

Jackson: [Walker] must govern not just Republicans, but the republic. He must govern all the citizens, not just a party. He is not the governor of a party. He’s the governor of a state….

Kelly: …It seems like you’re saying you should look at the popular will and govern accordingly. Again, I go back to the health care legislation. The popular will was against that bill and yet President Obama and the democrats pushed that through at a national level. You felt very differently about that piece of legislation than you do about this one.

Jackson: Well because 59 million Americans don’t have health insurance. People are dying because of that. 50 million Americans are in poverty….poor people are dying. There’s a sense of death for the poor people and surplus for the wealthy. Something about that is unhealthy for our democracy…

You know what else is unhealthy for democracy? Double-standards about the democratic process.

And Ken dolls. Or so says Rush Limbaugh: “Jesse Jackson is a Ken doll. There’s a little string in his back with a little ring, and you pull it, and out comes standardized number one, and you pull it again, and here comes standardized answer number two.”

The American GOVERNMENT, through the Health Care Bill, will now be enabled to cut the deficit by seeing that the “Useless Eaters” (H. Kissinger’s coined name) will die; this will cut medicare/medicaid,
social security, V.A. costs and save billions. It is all part of a PLAN. Meanwhile, the elected, the Muslims
and favored unions/corporations are exempted. The Wealthy will ALWAYS have Private Health Care.

It is my understanding that Jackson made a fool out of himself by saying things that were not true. Jesse does not know that the Monster Spending Bill of 700,000,000,000 dollars went to the Public Unions, I being a tax payer do not owe the Unions nothing because that money will not be paid off in my lifetime. Jackson showed -up to this event to make himself look important, but all I ever see is him being racist and spreading racism in order to make money off this just like Sharpton, and Wrangle. Someone please tell them to find a closet and get lost.

Are you referring to the Troubled Asset Relief Program? The $700 billion that went to the king capitalists themselves, investment bankers (commercial banks got in on the action too of course)? Or are you referring to ARRA, of which the majority of the cost came from new tax deductions rather than government expenditures? Know your facts before you open your mouth.

Jesse is a malcontent. He wants a racial divide so he can stir the pot and watch the action. I think it’s a perverse voyeurism found in a lot of lefties. How else can they deny the harm their organizations, Planned Parenthood and NOW come to mind, to “his” people. So very bizarre just watch as the left devours itself, M. Moore is a shining example of that. They want to play a game without any rules except those that “seem” good at the moment.

Well, it was 20 million, then Obama Care came and insurance companies raised rates and cut offerings; while small employers who were offering health insurance have now dropped it. So, yes, More Government Regulation has probably increased that to 60 million now.

At least three of the Wisconsin state Senate Republicans currently demanding that public workers sacrifice benefits, wages and even collective bargaining rights for the sake of the budget have applied for and received hundreds of thousands of dollars in federal farm subsidies.

state Sens. Luther Olsen, Dale Schultz and Sheila Harsdorf all had stakes in farms that received between them more than $300,000 in taxpayer funds.

Neither of them has a church or visible job, so where? By the way, are they both really ordained? Inquiring minds want to know!

      1TRUEONE55,

And that’s the weird thing. I work with quite a few liberals, or at the least liberal sympathizers, and they are incredibly intelligent people. You get them on separate issues or topics that they can act individually on and they are well versed and able to make coherent debates. But as soon as you get them on political issues they become liberal drones and start spouting off mindless drivel with this seeming inability to think or at for themselves. It is bizarre and strange.

*DISCLAIMER* In no way shape or form have I or will I claim that Jesse Jackson is anything other then a mindless drone.

      Disillusioneddaily:

I wondered the same thing about the “Reverend”, so I looked him up on http://www.biography.com. He was born in 1941. This is part of his biography:

Jesse adopted the name of his stepfather, Charles Jackson, at about age 15. A good student in high school, Jesse was elected class president and later attended the University of Illinois (1959–60) on a football scholarship. He then transferred to the predominantly black Agricultural and Technical College of North Carolina in Greensboro and received a B.A. in sociology (1964). He moved to Chicago in 1966, did graduate work at the Chicago Theological Seminary, and was ordained a Baptist minister in 1968.

I didn’t think it was possible.

Jackson is like bees to honey. Wherever there is an opportunity to bring up how black people have suffered in this country, and how white people OWE them – he is there quicker than you can blink. He knows the truth that there have been ALOT of opportunities for Black Americans to better themselves – many of them CHOOSE not to. More and more he is realizing how old and tired his message is and if know one is listening he is out of a job. Wonder who pays his salary and how much money he makes on speaking gigs. God forbid…he might be one of those big bad rich people he is always blathering about.

People dying, people being foreclosed on, basic workers rights, there’s going to be a revolt, just a bunch of misleading crap that comes out of that crazy man’s mouth. How is this kind of revolt rhetoric not going to cause someone to go crazy and do the exact thing the libs accuse Beck and Limbaugh of inciting Jared Loughner to do.

If an average $75,000 job for nine months at our expense is his definition of “without jobs” I have to openly ask what has this nincompoop been smoking?! I think he is confusing Obama’s earlier Stimulus scheme with the collective bargaining issue or was it a Freudian slip to an Obama ploy to use stimulus as a way to get money to help his union buddies keep their jobs during the recession while the rest of us non-union bread winners and job producers were asked to go to hell!?

JJ doing what he does best—ramble incessantly and deflect while garnering undeserved publicity for himself. The part I especially loved was his comments about jobs going overseas. Is he really this ignorant? And the “workers” do NOT have a right to leech off the backs of the private sector. He is right about the rich getting richer and the middle class shrinking—but it‘s at public unions’ expense. No one in the private sector I know of gets unlimited vacation and sick days, exhorbitant pay rates whether they work hard OR NOT, and certainly do not get pensions paid for by the private sector. And well…gotta love his hypocrisy on the health care bill. Well…THAT was different. The people are too stupid to know what they need, and they are certainly too stupid to know that “democracy” is the new word for your paycheck belonging to the government who will decide what you are allowed to keep. I see where Jr. gets his idiocy. Ipods and laptops for all minorities!! Rah-rah. Game over SEIU thugs. There are few people who actually believe your so-called fight for workers rights is about rights anymore. Most of us know the definition of “rights” in that arena is YOUR right to others money.

You what else he is? A criminal with left leaning tendencies, here a little of his background.

Jackson had never actually earned a traditional ordination. He failed out of the Chicago Theological Seminary during his first year there. Kenneth Timmerman — author of the authoritative book Shakedown: Exposing the Real Jesse Jackson — explains: “[There is normally] a two- to three-year process for earning that title [Reverend]. Jesse Jackson got himself ordained two months after Martin Luther King was shot. It was essentially a political ordination, a shotgun ordination. … He did not go through this two-year process. He never submitted himself to the authority of the church. He has never had a church himself, and he has been accountable to no one.”

I guess you can characterize him as a lying preacher.

It would not be until the year 2000 that Jackson received his Master of Divinity degree from Chicago. By that time, his son –Congressman Jesse Jackson, Jr. – was on the board of the seminary. The younger Jackson had earned his M.A. in theology from that same institution a decade earlier.

It helps to know people you know.

Jackson was elected a “shadow Senator” from Washington, D.C. in 1991 but declined to seek re-election in 1997, preferring to concentrate on “reforming” American corporate life by means of the aforementioned policy of manipulation buttressed by reckless charges of racism. President Clinton’s decision to appoint him “Special Envoy of the President and Secretary of State for the Promotion of Democracy in Africa” returned Jackson to the diplomatic arena. In addition to the exorbitant expenditures Jackson ran up during his trip, he embraced and praised numerous African dictators including Zambia’s Fredrick Chiluba and Nigeria’s Abdulsalami Abubakar. Jackson also became one of Clinton’s spiritual counselors during the Monica Lewinski affair; at about the same time, Jackson’s still-hidden mistress, Karin Stanford, was bearing the couple’s child.

I wondered what kind of counseling? Maybe it was the Justice Brothers blame insurance program or something like that.

Jackson hosts his own nationally syndicated, weekly radio program titled Keep Hope Alive, which airs in more than 40 markets nationwide. Among his most frequent guests are Al Sharpton and James Zogby (founder and President of the Arab American Institute).

Keep Hope Alive for a two bit lying preacher that obviously wants to destroy capitalism in America. This is what I mean, a gangster by any other name, by any other means.

A longtime admirer of former Cuban dictator Fidel Castro, Jackson once said: “Viva Fidel! Viva Che [Guevara]! Castro is the most honest and courageous politician I’ve ever met.”

I am from Cuba and I could spend days telling you how good and honest Castro is. My father took that SOB in when he [Castro] was, also a failing student in Havana University, Do you guys notice a pattern here. It funny how this so-called elites seem to get their credential in an unsavory manner. This was long before he started revolution or was even actively involved in politics. Netting this out, he later had his thugs killed my father’s brother in cold blood in his place of business in front of horrified patrons and was actively looking for my father. I wonder why? Maybe to give him [my father] a Hallmark card of appreciation. We got out of Cuba only by the grace of God.

Jackson is also an enthusiastic backer of the now defunct community organization ACORN.

Jackson doesn’t know the difference between a Democracy and a Republic.
In a Democracy (majority rule is absolute) you get the scenario that we’ve seen (mob rule) in Wisconsin. We also saw that in Egypt, didn’t we?

To avoid that, the Founders created a Republic, in which we elect Representatives. This was in place of mob-rule (Democracy).
We elect them to govern. Therefore, they must do certain things, like balance budgets. Over the years those budgets became unsustainable mostly- but not completely- due to Progressives in the democratic Party. Of course, Republicans went along all too often due to pressure from the socialists (democrats, and ethnic groups). That pressure took the form of shouting-down, as well as claims of racism( deamonizing).

Now, it is time to correct the problems caused by people who want a Socialist state, which are the Progressive/Socialist/Communist democrats, their allies in the public-sector unions, and racist ethnic groups such as in the Black and Latino communities.

All of the above-mentioned groups were present in WIsconsin. Those groups used intimidation (shouting-down the legislators), violence (threats against legislators), and verbal attacks to Deamonize and Marginalize anyone who does not agree with their point of view. Did the Socialist students, union and ethnic aggitators not create ‘mob rule’? Of course they did.

Why do we give these loud-mouthed hypocrites any time at all. They are over the hill, tryng to relive the glory days of MLKs past, and shaking down “the man” wherever and whenever they get a chance. They need to shut their pieholes and retire.

What you are seeing in Madison now are not the forced union members, but the union thugs, many of which were bussed in from out of state. These people thrive on busting heads and destroying property. All you have to do is look at the video to see what kind of scum they are. I wonder how much thier union political fund coffers are going to suffer now that there will no longer be automatic deductions. Now Sarah Palin on the other hand wants to unshackle small business so real jobs can be created.

      Freedom is Slavery….

Paying off student loans? The youngest “I’ll assume, teacher” who was nodding her head, looked to be almost 40. What is your payment, $1 a year? And you are probably a math teacher, most likely bussed in, just to create noise and the appearance of a bigger crowd than there actually was.
As people see the tactics and hear the unsubstantiated lies, the movement is growing in support for the WI Senators and not the unions.

People forget the U.S. is a Republic, not a Democracy, per so. When the Left uses that term Democracy, it is actually code for Socialism/Communism. Google Karl Marx – you will see.

Hillary Clinton remarked, after Gore lost in 2004, that they should abolish the electoral college. They want mob rule in America. Hillary and Obama were both idolized and followed Saul Alinsky’s principles. All their current tactics follow the 13 Rules for Radicals. Eveyone should be aware of these – google them too.

wow, the headline got that backwards. Honestly, I feel so sorry for people who think gov Walker did good. Politically he is done, republicans just lost the white house in 2012. The middle class is pissed off at this move. How many millionaires are in this forum? Probably some so they want less taxes for the rich. Some say it helps business. Not all the time. It is all a shame the people that tell you that less taxes for the rich is the best way to get this economy going are millionaires so why would you trust them? I don’t get it.
