Posted on May 30, 2011 at 5:05pmI got out of the service over 40 years ago. While just a young GI I was so poorly paid that I could qualify for free food from the county’s pantry and shelter. Talking to young GI’s just over the last few months, these guys and gals STILL are paid very poorly. With all the Billions we give away to foreign governments, I ‘ve always wondered how our Congress year after year can find it quite acceptable to keep paying GI’s as poorly as they do……it was a crying shame when I was in the service and its STILL a crying shame !!

I am aware of which Officers go on the ground with their men. And they need more than our thank yous. They need to not have to worry about paying their bills, feeding families. IMO, our military should be paid a lot more than our politicians.
I meant no offense, I love our military. My past husband gave 20 years.

Compared to the people that voluntarily signed up to risk their lives to travel to America-hating nations to fight against our foreign adversaries to defend our irreplacable freedoms, I am little more than just a small person enjoying them. May God bless our beloved Marines, both at home and abroad, for they deserve better.

Thank you to the families of these men and women. We are a blessed country when so many volunteer selflessly.
Tuned into Fox this morning and listened to several soldiers saying “hi” to their family at home and stated their deployment was Southwest Asia. This must be the new pc subtle nudge from the higher ups into a new world order of regions rather than countries. Southwest Asia covers a lot of middle east countries.

Every Summer is still tough with Memorial Day and 4th of July and I end up crying often in remembrance of all the wonderful men and women who gave their lives so I can live mine in freedom.

I appreciate that there are still Americans out there who volunteer to fight. Thank you to all the Vietnam Veterans out there who dealt with extreme hardship both in Vietnam and here at home. If it were not for the Veterans before my generation, we newly minted veterans would not be treated as well as we are. Thank you!

We need to always remembe those who have given their all and all for us, those who have served and are still serving at home and overseas wherever it may be…they are the front line to keep us safe from foreign advesaries of the freedoms we enjoy. We too have a duty to ensure support is given to them in turn, and defend the homefront from enemies within.
God keep them safe and let them return home soonest.

We greatly appreciate the vets that are still around but today we show our solemn and grateful remembrance to those that are not. Heaven has a special place for those that served and we can be assured that the street of Heaven are guarded by United States Marines. Semper Fi.
