Men Interviewed for Anti-Romney Bain Movie Tell Megyn Kelly They Were Taken Grossly Out of Context

The following revelation will likely cause an uproar among Mitt Romney supporters and bring significant heat on his detractors. The integrity of the “King of Bain” — a political movie which claims to tell the story of the former Massachusetts Governor’s time at Bain Capital – is being called  into question after two men interviewed for the film claim that, not only were they unaware  the film was about Romney or Bain Capital, their interview clips were taken grossly out of content.

So egregious was the alleged spin, according to UniMac workers Tommy Jones and Mike Baxley, that both men claim the clips in which they are seen talking about personal hardships were in fact references to incidents that came long after their time at Bain Capital. According to the interview subjects, the hardships they speak of in the film refer to a time when they decided to strike it out on their own by starting an independent business.

Fox News Insider adds:

In part of the film, Jones was featured talking about the fear of losing insurance, and he added, “We weren’t even talking about Bain or Mitt Romney.” In fact, once Bain Capital took over UniMac, Jones said he had no issues because everyone at the company received raises. He also received two promotions while they were in charge.

Baxley agreed and went on to say that he made it clear to the filmmaker that he was not saying anything about Bain during his interview and said, “I just think they did not want to use it as we were stating it, and decided to turn it around towards Bain.”

Jones and Baxley wanted to set the record straight, saying they were told this was a documentary about big corporations taking over small businesses.

According to reports, the movie was paid for by a Newt Gingrich Super PAC and paints Romney as a greedy, corporate raider.

Actually if you listen to what these men say. They say product quality went down from the first buyout to Bain buyout until the plant closed. Bain gave them raises but quality went down. The company Bain sold to did shortly thereafter close the plant. This was a very poor interview unless the purpose was to support Romney. Loved at the end when the one admitted he was a Romney supporter the other deferred to admit that. They both lost their jobs when the plant closed at least partially Bains fault who hardly created jobs there.

Newt does not bother with the sheep’s clothing, he is just a wolf. And because he feels that he is the smartest person in the room, he believes that nobody will care about the lack of disguise. In his mind it seems that he thinks that we’re not smart enough to differentiate between what he or any of the other candidates represent, the only thing that matters to anyone is that obama is out. He also shows a level of arrogance that rivals the current POTUS. He is a career politician that has come to believe that the american public is stupid. We do NOT need this man in office!

””Little known to the American public Newt Gingrich and his then wife Marianne were the subject of a US Justice Department criminal investigation in the late 1990s involving a $10 million bribe of the world’s largest private arms dealer, Sarkis Soghanalia.

Unaware that Soghanalian was an FBI informant, it is alleged that Marianne Gingrich whilst working for the Israel Export Development Corporation (IEDC) tried to facilitate a bribe to the tune of $10 million so that her husband could use his influence to lift the arms embargo against Iraq in order for Soghanalian to collect an outstanding payment of $54 million from Saddam Hussein. “””

Romney is the best for the job and even Tea Partiers are seeing that. His background and record shows he is the best for the position.

Remember the elite and establishment wanted Paul Ryan, Christie, Mitch Daniels, Jeb Bush. Romney is not the ‘establishment candidate.’ He is just the best choice and people are finding this out as they vet him and his conservative record.

I think there is a huge difference between actually advertising lies and being guilty of telling facts in such a way that inferences may tend toward an incorrect interpretation. For instance I heard a “Winning our Future” ad today that replayed Mitt Romney’s “I am dedicated to not changing a Woman’s right to choose…” And they stated following his quote, that “Romney thinks…“ As in present tense ”thinks“ as opposed to ”publically stated…” which would be more accurate. Romney has consistently made the case, not only with his mouth but also with his governing record that he is pro-life, he has admitted an evolution in his convictions, but has acted according to his current stance since he took office in Mass.

The ads aimed at Newt and even Santorum (once a convicted felon always a convicted felon no matter what “debt” to society has been paid) have not necessarily been nice, but they certainly were factual.

And although I have posted the following, it bears repeating. Romney has been consistently aloof from the actions of the Superpac (Restoring our Future) claiming not only to not be informed but more importantly to not be coordinating their efforts. Newt, on the other hand, announced the coming 27 minute expose on Romney’s record at Bain before it was released. He knew of it, about it, and was even bragging about its contents before its release. I would call that “coordination” between Newt and “Winning our Future.” to be continued…

      Posted on January 18, 2012 at 8:01pm

And, of course, Newt has been the most vocal about Romney having the ability to change what the Superpac is running in their ads, which, according to the law, he does not. Romney owns the issue when he stated that current Campaign Finance Reform is flawed and needs to be changed to allow for more responsibility. But the reality is, the ads coming from Restoring our Future have been vetted and the facts they publish are correct. Its Newt‘s and Santorum’s records that make them look bad, not the ads from Restoring our Future, which is legally not affiliated with any candidate. Typical spoiled brat mentality to attack and deny that a painful reality actually exists. They should have been better prepared to handle the disparity between their supporters and Romney’s. Unfortunately, what Newt has shown, if in fact he has had influence over “Winning our Future,” is that if he had more money flowing in he would simply peddle more garbage, innuendo, and slander without basis in fact. Shame on Newt, and shame on anyone buying into his temper tantrum.

Romney made Newt look like a fool in the debate. He first got Newt to say out loud that federal law indeed states that they cannot coordinate with their PACs. He then proceeded to talk about how Newt’s PAC has been putting out ads that are provably false, which Newt attempted to interrupt with “but I…” Romney went on to say that he has publicly said he hopes his PAC takes out any inaccuracies, which is exactly what Newt has done. He finished by stating that to suggest they have different standards concerning their PACs is ridiculous.

That was the best and most telling moment of the debate, but the media decided to focus on the ridiculous food stamp question. That was deliberately teed up for Newt to hit out of the park with his big orange plastic bat. In fact, almost every question given to Newt was set up for him to throw back red meat.

This whole “movie” was made to be used by the DNC in September against Romney and do big damage as it would be to late to get context. When Newt went down the pass to attack Bain. They dusted this off and made the Super PAC just to release this movie.

When conservatives think of great presidents, and they think of George Washington, Abe Lincoln, and Ronald Reagan. When liberals think of great presidents, they think of Woodrow Wilson, FDR, and Bill Clinton.

Newt Gingrich said that FDR was the best president of the 20th century (possibly in history), and that he considers himself a “realpolitik Wilsonian.” Furthermore, his crowning achievement is having worked closely with Bill Clinton as Speaker of the House. Hmm….

The real villains (who always emerge from these political slop operas with pockets full of money), are the media. They are specialists, in keeping the divisions in place and on top. I can do without the commercials, can you? The internet has more then adequate information about the candidates from both factions, so why do you need the drama? I’ll tell you why. You are insecure, a follower, intellectually stupid, judgemental, and in need of media affirmation. In essence, a Yo Yo, controlled by the whims of these media goons and their political counterparts. GingrichPAC’s attack ads on Bain are false. Romney‘s PAC ads against Gingrich’s abortion record is wrong. Santorum‘s attacks on Romney’s social issues stances are false. Perry has also done plenty of attacking, especially, like Gingrich on capitalism and class warfare. The falsehoods need to stop but the negative true ads can stay. The report above says, “the movie was paid for by a Newt Gingrich Super PAC.”

The video states that the Super PAC bought a movie that was already made by someone else. So the movie was actually paid for by that someone else, then sold to the Gingrich Super PAC.

That’s the way I understand it. But I would not have understood that from just reading the article. I would have understood that the Gingrich Super PAC hired someone to idealize the movie and funded the production.

    Am I missing something?

Yes, the Super PAC was Newt Gingrich’s, as I understand it, but he had to give it up when he ran for election. Maybe I am wrong, but I was researching all about Newt Gingrich after my Mom lost her job as a result of Newt’s “consulting” work. Sheldon Anderson, the ***** behind financing this smear video is one of these guys that believes he can buy off any politician he chooses to get whatever he wants. Supposedly, this is how he got his casino license. Obviously, he couldn’t buy Romney, as I suspect nobody can, which was proven last election as McCain won the primary. These are the same guys who supported McCains campaign last election. They don’t care if these people are Democrats or Republicans, whoever they can buy to get the policy favoring them, is all they are concerned. I suspect Romeny really made them angry by denying them and this is his pay back. These are ruthless billion-airs and I am afraid that those of you who are allowing you bigotry ( and I am not saying you, just some) to feed into the idea that Romney is the establishment guy while Newt is some true patriot, are seriously off course. Romney has given away most all funds to charity or denied pay for his services all his life, while Newt has never worked a real job and is angry he can’t make more money just because he is so smart. We all know this type of intellectual elite most despise, yet, people are willing to let Newt off the hook. No explanation for it. At least go for Santorum who is a thief.

Let’s take this moment to ask – if all the conservatives… you and me for instance…. think that Mitt Romney is the wrong choice for our candidate for president…. then who the heck is “voting” for him? Why is it that he is in the lead when EVERYONE I talk to says “There HAS to be someone better” ?? I smell a fish here. .. and I wonder who is behind this Romney push. I know that FOX is really slanted towards Mitt — (don‘t tell me I’m wrong) — so I have to ask…. am I being fed a load of crap from the RIGHT?? I already have had my fill from the left…. I don’t need seconds, thank you. — makes ya want to go “hmmmmmmm”…….. doesn’t it?

Could it be that the media is refusing to air any information about his supporters? If Obama and Pelosi WANT Romney to be the nominee, then why is everyone from Obama to Pelosi to Newt and even you trying to hard to make sure he is NOT the nominee?

I’m a Romney supporter. My wife and all of our family and friends except for the gay guys across the street are too. And I think secretly they are going to vote for him too. Obama and Co. are scared to death of Romney and that is why they are desperate to take him down as soon as they can.

      ERIC THE RED STATE-

Are you kidding me? Fox news does not like Romney at all. They like Gingrich. None of the media protect or back Romney. When is the last time anyone defended Romneys religion? Never. Nobody cares that Romney gets baseless attacks. Where is this candidate that everyone wants? Jesus Christ is not running for President sorry so I guess we will have to settle for a human being. For a moment lets not pretend that every other candidate up there is somehow more conservative.

      Old news from 2009 …

The Republicans promised Mitt the next nomination in 2008 to give McCaIn his shot at the office in payment for his long term republican party support.

Fox News fervently and blatantly supported McCain last go round, then they gave their co-conspirator a job. They have been anti-Romney from the get go.

There has been a never ending narrative that nobody wants Romney, and that Republicans are dissatisfied with the field. It is simply a desperate tactic to try to wish away reality.

Look at how they try to spin his victory in New Hampshire, with 40% of the vote and a double digit lead over the next contender, into a loss. Then they try to say that it is just because the conservative vote was split… except the liberals and moderates voted mostly for Huntsman and Paul. Hmm….

I’d like to see how they would try to spin it if Romney carried all 50 states. “Looks like the Republicans settled on Romney, even thought they really don’t want him…”

By the way, Romney is a beast, no matter what the mainstream media says.

Networks want there to be a close race, because the uncertainty improves ratings. it also forces PACs to buy lots of airtime for their candidate. These campaigns are serious money makers for big media.

This is why there have been so many debates. They get good ratings!

Romney is winning in most states, this is just a sideshow.
