‘Men With Breasts?’: PA State Rep. Slams Female GOP Leaders Supporting Mandatory Ultrasound

PA Rep. Babette Josephs Wonders: Are Female GOP Pols Men With Breasts?

Democratic State Rep. Babette Josephs (Pennsylvania)

Mandatory ultrasound bills seem to be distinguishing themselves as the newest frontier in the war over abortion here in the United States.

The controversial “Women’s Right to Know” bill under consideration in Pennsylvania would require that a woman have an ultrasound before being permitted to have an abortion. The notion has so enraged Democratic State Rep. Babette Josephs that she has openly lashed out at Republican women who support the measure.

At a rally on Monday, Josephs wondered aloud if the women who had co-sponsored the contentious bill were simply ”men with breasts.” The quip was made at a political rally being held by the Lancaster County Democratic Committee. She launched into her tirade by accusing Republicans in charge of Pennsylvania’s Senate and House of turning the state into a ”laboratory for the right-wing.” The GOP, she contends, wants to “experiment on” women.

PennLive.com provides more about Josephs’ controversial words on the matter:

…she took specific aim at women lawmakers who co-sponsored the ultrasound bill, asking rhetorically, “I do not understand how a woman in this Legislature can say to herself: ‘I’m not capable of making my own health decisions… but I can get elected and make them for somebody else.’

“What is wrong with these women? What are they thinking about?” Josephs continued. “Are they women? Or are they men with breasts?”

Ironically, the Pennsylvania ultrasound bill has been shelved indefinitely by House leaders, in part because of outcries by more moderate GOP lawmakers who don’t want to deal with it in their election year.

Watch her comments, below:

The Republican politicians she was targeting with her hard-hitting words were less than content with her tone as well as the allegations presented within her very public statements.

“I think it’s sad, and certainly disrespectful, to have to describe opponents to your opinion of a bill by attacking and throwing names around,” Republican Rep. Kathy Rapp said.

See Rapp defend the bill in a video posted earlier this year:

Rep. RoseMarie Swanger, a GOP member and a co-sponsor, echoed these sentiments.

“I am a woman, and just because I disagree with her on certain women‘s issues doesn’t make me a man,” she said. “We can have different points of view, but we don’t have to insult each other.”

Hey, she’s got a point. Republicans (all of them, you know) want to experiment on women with this new and completely unproven, potentially dangerous technology called…..ultrasound.

Oooohhh…even the name is scarey – ULTRAsound. Whew, man. That gave me a shiver.

Can anyone believe that Republicans (all of them) want to try this experimental, and clearly invasive procedure on women in Pennsylvania? I mean, are Republicans even licensed to perform procedures involving radical technology like this?

      My goodness.

Don’t even have to read the article. Of course this hag refers to other women as, “men with breasts.” Take a look at her and you have to wonder if she’s a woman at all.. Sheesh.. I guess Rush was right.. The “Womens Movement,” is all about getting ugly females the attention they crave.. This legislator is in no danger of needing an abortion, or birth control anytime soon.

There are roughly 120,000 adoptions and 1,000,000 abortions every year in America…Shouldn’t we be doing something to try and reverse those numbers?

And aren’t at least half of these aborted babies female? How is it anti-woman to try and save their lives?

How is it anti-woman to make certain that young mothers understand exactly what they are doing instead of greeting them with a salesman when they walk in the door of Planned Parenthood?

Abortionists don’t get paid unless they perform abortions. It is clearly in their best interest to convince a young mother that her baby is nothing more than a tumor that can be removed without consequence…

I should think that helping to ensure women make informed decisions is pro-woman…

Could democrat opposition have more to do with the fact that abortion is big business in America generating hundreds of millions of dollars every year and donating exclusively to one political party?

Does the democrat party care more for their campaign contributions than they do for their constituents?

Ultrasounds do nothing to limit a woman’s right to choose…but surely seeing the child growing inside them will make some women choose birth over abortion…

That is a threat to the income of the abortionists, and Babette wants her cut…

at the risk of sounding sexest (none intended by the way) I would say they are more a woman than this girl and I stress that part. You see real women view the product of their female organs (children) as priceless, not some waste of tissue to be thrown out. My wife may not have the college doctorate or be in a accomplished profession( I will be the first to admit she is smarter than I am and would be better at her career than me) But because she and I made the decision that she stay home while our kids are young shes a real woman in other words a Mother. In my opinion lets give the country to Mothers. You see mothers know and don’t make excuses between right and wrong, the common mother knows more about budgeting than any politician idiot in washington, Mom also knows if you screw with her family and house she’ll send her enemies to hell and let them dig themselves out. True mothers don’t sell out their kids future. Mothers have the balls(ovaries) to say no to their idle and spoiled children who want something without working for it.True Mothers let the consequences of actions take affect so her family learns instead providing an excuse. So keep going True mothers of the conservative influence.Tell the play mother government to go to hell and that you know what is best for your kids because you raise them not abort them and throw them to government nanny wet nurses. Mothers stand up who haven’t sold their lives to be immature girls their whole lives

They don’t want these ultra sounds done, because they know that these women will take one look at that wonderful little life inside of her and know she can’t do it. I remember the first time I saw my baby and heard her heartbeat, I wept for pure joy, there just is nothing like a life inside and them moving, turning, kicking. I love being a woman and ALL that that implies. I hate this womens movement, they say they are for us, but they lie to fill their pockets. They will stand before the Lord one day and give an accounting. At that time, their will be no debates or arguements or slick dealings. The Lord will simply say “Depart for I knew you not”. And on that same day, the Lord will look at me and say “Enter in thou good a faithful servant”.

“The woman who has an actual life should take precedence over the fetus who only has a potential one. ”

I have never understood this statement. This is life, not a potential life. If it wasn’t life it would not continue to grow. If it was not alive, there would be no need to kill it. It is a human life as much as yours, just in a different phase. We pass through many phases throughout our lives and pre-birth is simply one of them.

I am a Pennsylvanian and a woman and I fully support any effort required to educate people on what they are doing. If they do not have the stamina to view the baby they are carrying before killing it, they shouldn’t be following through with an abortion anyway. Face up to your choices.

Granny. If people would take a look at what abortion is really about today, we would see that murder and the profit from it are here to stay until our Lord softens the hard hearts of the murderers themselves. They don’t want the mothers to see or know anything about the child, they could have a change of heart and there would go the profit. Not only do we the tax payer pay for most abortions but the murders are now payed big money for the bodies and parts of bodies of these poor souls. They are even an export item now, our nation is very sick and continues to get worse. The murder of our children is now big business, here are a couple truths with the link to start looking into the truth of what abortion is about today. http://www.ourchurch.com/view/?pageID=214839 This is only a start the deeper you dig the worse it get’s. I pray the Lord will return soon and put an end to the evil that abortion is, and I also pray that the Lord will have mercy on us for ever allowing this evil to grow into what it is. I have to admit that my hands are just as bloody as the murderers themselves, for I turned a blind eye and kept my mouth shut when I knew it was murder all along. I ask for God’s forgiveness, I will no longer be silent fore abortion is not only murder but murder for profit.

They are the ones who will have to deal with the possilbe physical and emotional consequences. The baby, unfortunately, will never have the opportunity to even experience life.

Abortion in and of itself makes “health”decisions for another person – a person who just happens to temporarily reside within the body of someone else for a time.

no one has the “right” to “pursue their happiness” at the expense of the life or liberty of someone else.

The problem with many of these ultrasound laws is that they are mandating not just an abdominal ultrasound but a trans-******* ultrasound, which is a highly invasive procedure. I am staunchly pro-life, but I don’t think the government needs to mandate procedures that involve poking lubricated, condom-wrapped probes into women’s vaginas. That abortion is equally invasive is irrelevant; what is relevant is who is making the demand, and for what reason.

It is true that an ultrasound should be performed prior to any abortion to determine the gestational age of the baby and to rule out an ectopic pregnancy. It is also true that in cases of very early pregnancy, a trans-******* ultrasound may be necessary. But that decision should be made by the abortionist. For the government to demand a trans-******* ultrasound solely or primarily for the purpose of getting a good picture for the mother is simply going to far.

If the government wants all women seeking an abortion to be allowed to see their ultrasound is a good thing. There are reports of abortionists refusing to allow this, or charging a woman who wants to see the baby on the ultrasound and extra $25. There seems to be no good reason why the authors of these bills cannot write them in such a way as to make this clear, without demanding that the government decide which kind of ultrasound is performed.

The most sensible thing ever said about this emotional issue was, “It should be legal, safe and rare.”

The best way to accomplish that would be to encourage contraception and make adoption easier.

      Failing that, abortion.

The woman who has an actual life should take precedence over the fetus who only has a potential one.

Most abortions take place at such early stages of pregnancy that needles, cutting devices and screaming hardly enter in.

No, it is not OK. Abortion at any stage is a dreadful thing to contemplate, and at a late stage it is a dreadful thing to carry out. I believe that schools, the medical profession and the government should do what they can to promote (not necessarily in that order) abstinence, contraception and adoption. But for all that I also sincerely believe that at any stage, when all is said and done, it is a woman’s right to elect to have one.

Can’t remember the mans name that Glenn talked about to “change” the masses thinking…eggs & bacon for breakfast…so with that in mind…observation of the dog male & female (I won’t go any further)..and therefore, a man lifts his leg & swings it over to get to the 2nd pedal. The womans bike does not have the bar…because women, years ago, mostly wore dresses/skirts. The men with breasts have merit because hopefully it will never be mandated but some men do get breast-cancer (PriceIsRight announcer) but perhaps in the Obama Care will cover mamograms for men.
