FL Fire Capt. Demoted After Trayvon Martin Facebook Post Blasts ‘Sh*tbag, Ignorant, Pathetic’ Parents

Miami Dade Fire Captain Brian Beckmann Demoted Over

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue captain Brian Beckmann has been demoted after his comments that “failed, sh*tbag, ignorant” parents are to blame for Trayvon Martin’s death went viral.

Though he deleted the Facebook post in question, The Grio captured a screen shot:

Miami Dade Fire Captain Brian Beckmann Demoted Over

“I and my coworkers could rewrite the book on whether our urban youths are victims of racist profiling or products of their failed, sh*tbag, ignorant, pathetic, welfare dependent excuses for parents…They‘re just misunderstood little church going angels and the ghetto hoodie look doesn’t have anything to do with why people wonder if they’re about to get jacked by a thug,” it reads.

When responding to criticism, Beckmann originally said:  ”I am a private citizen and have the same right to freely express an opinion on any subject that anyone else does. I choose not to embellish or alter the facts as your employer chose to do,” but after the department launched an investigation and people began calling for him to be fired, he has since modified his position.

7 News has more information:

A picture of Beckmann’s team on Facebook was flooded with comments, ranging from those protecting his right to free speech, to another who said: “The public are your ‘customers’. If I went on a FB rant about my company’s customers I would be fired in a heartbeat. To me, that’s just common sense, which the Captain seems to be greatly lacking in. He also shows poor judgment, poor decision making skills, and a lack of impulse control (hiding behind ‘freedom of speech). At the very least, has the Captain never learned that just because you can, doesn’t mean you should. Shame on him…”

“I promise that I will try harder than ever to be a decent and professional public servant to the citizens of Miami-Dade County,” Beckmann now says.  ”My family has suffered tremendously and this has been punishment beyond anything I ever imagined.”

Beckmann has been demoted to the role of firefighter, and will have to undergo both diversity training and a psychological evaluation.

“The comments made by Captain Beckmann were reprehensible and will not be tolerated. We can’t have our employees, especially a supervisor, making such disparaging comments about any member of our community, much less one of our own employees…There’s no such thing as being off-the-clock; we are public servants 24/7 and must conduct ourselves with the utmost professionalism at all times,” Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos Gimenez concluded.

Beckmann’s case is reminiscent of the marine who was fired for posting anti-Obama comments on Facebook.

Nice skinhead look. Draws you to the compelling eyes and makes the uniform detail stand out handsomely.

Some folks wear their heads like that to cover for chemo hair loss. Swimmers and cage match fighters often shave their heads for the athletic advantage it provides. I wonder how they maintain that smooth look with no stubble? Do you guys have to shave every few hours? Or do you get a wax?

      TRUTH

That video predicts the future of the white man, yet just like the movie The Birth of a Nation, which predicted black crime, race riots, white women getting raped by blacks, something that a 100 years ago was unheard of in America, and today black crime is like normal, few whites listened then and few whites listen today.

Unless we can go back in time and have America win the 1865 war or have Europe win the 1945 war then we are doomed !

Trace bag of… Oh you mean drugs, illegal drugs. Talk about sugar coating.
People are excepting the testimony of Zimmerman now for the same reason they all condemned him previously, the Media. Now that we know the media slanted this story beyond comprehension, and reporters have already been fired, trust has gone in reverse. It makes Zimmerman look innocent. Were not the jury though, people will take sides from where they sit. It is more important for the jury needs to hear out the evidence. But yes, it is prudent for us as well.

If this man had been black, and Trayvon would have been white, nothing would have been said or done to the man. His right to do so should not be infringed because some folks find his words offensive. There’s NO RIGHT to live a life without offense. By the same token, there is an absolute right to suffer the slings and arrows of people that disagree with your pov. Chief let fly his opinion and folks got their panties in a wad. So be it. He’s suffered the consequences for his “public” display of his opinions…granted, they‘re well founded and most offensive to the exact people he’s describing…and that’s as it should be. I hope he has the cajones to stand by his convictions here and ride out the storm.

Has anyone seen the photo of what Trayvon looked like at 17? The photo the press throws around is from when he was 12. When he was 17, he looked frickin’ scary. He looked like a gangster. So let’s examine this – a 17 year old wearing a hoody in a gated community and looking like a gangster. I would have had suspicions about him as well.

As far as the Fire Captain expressing his views. He erred in his judgement and is now paying for it. As a public servant you have to watch yourself.

While we argue about comments, the world takeover moves forward.

If We major in the majors, the real issue is the UN one world gov. takeover, abolishing the banking cartel aka Federal Reserve, and voting in Constitutional leaders and outing Obama-ites.

The truth is not always welcome. And free speech is suffering because of that. If the NBP can spew their hatred without reprocussions then why can’t law abiding citizens?

When are people going to learn that their personal political comments don’t belong on FB?

The problem is the new Facebook. Before if you comment only your friends would see it. Now, if you comment on someone else, their friends see it, or if someone else comments on you, their friends see it whether or not you are friends with any them. But you’re right, you’re privacy is only protected on Facebook if you are trying to overthrow a legitimate government.

      Why not?
Don’t you just love when somebody you know wants to regale you with the amazing feats of awesomeness their snot-nose spawn have managed to accomplish? Twenty posts, thirty tweets and a half dozen IMs about their curtain climber managing to take three steps on their very own…”and he’s on thirteen years old!” Ya love it, right?
FB is just another venue for the banality of daily life. Some people are funny, some are jackasses. Some are boring and others are outspoken. It’s a reflection of everyday life with everyday sheeple.
Why would we expect it to be any different there.
…the exception being: Why in the hell would anybody who knows me think that I want to see the exact meal they’re eating in real time…or would give a damn?
Insiteful, thought provoking and/or infuriating subjects are too rare to ban, remove or skip.

write to yourself-say what needs to be said-
then delete-for now-the pendulum swings both ways

Technically, nothing should be posted on FB as anything you say could be spun into a racist, sexist, hateful, or political comment…That is, only if you’re a conservative.
