Michael Moore Dedicates Part of Website to Youth ‘Rising Up’ & ‘Revolt’

Michael Moore — who has made movies about hating capitalism and loving socialized medicine — announced a new endeavor this month: he’s dedicated part of his website to high schoolers and youth “rising up” and “revolt.” According to him, it’s the result of the “exciting” protests in Egypt and Wisconsin.
“We are, right now, living in an amazing moment of history,” Moore writes on the new section of his website, Mikeshighschoolnews.com, called High School Newspaper. “And this moment has happened because the youth around the world have decided they’ve had enough. Young people are in revolt — and it’s about time.”
He continues with language that seems to encourage youth rebellion, trying to convince kids that adults are mostly oppressive overlords:
You, the students and young adults, from Cairo, Egypt to Madison, Wisconsin, are now rising up, taking to the streets, organizing, protesting and refusing to move until your voices are heard. Effing amazing!! It has scared the pants off those in power, the adults who were so convinced they had done a heckuva job trying to dumb you down and distract you with useless nonsense so that you’d end up feeling powerless, just another cog in the wheel, another brick in the wall. You’ve been fed a lot of propaganda about “how the system works” and so many lies about what took place in history that I‘m amazed you’ve been able to sort through all the bs and see the truth for what it is. This was all done in the hopes you would just keep your mouths shut, get in line and follow orders. And don’t rock the boat. Because if you do, you could end up without a good job! You could end up looking like a freak! You‘ve been told politics isn’t cool and that one person really can’t make a difference.
And for some beautiful, unknown reason, you’ve refused to listen. Maybe it‘s because you’ve figured out that we adults are about to hand you a very empty and increasingly miserable world, with its melting polar ice caps, its low-paying jobs, its incessant war machine, and its plan to put you in permanent debt at age 18 with the racket known as college loans.
On top of that, you’ve had to listen to adults tell you that you may not be able to legally marry the person you love, that your uterus isn’t really yours to control, and that if a black guy somehow makes it into the White House, he must’ve entered illegally from Kenya. [Emphasis added]
Besides pointing out the voting age in some countries is 16, Moore also reminds young people that “in France, students can shut down the country by simply walking out of school and taking to the streets.” In other words, a call to action.
Moore says the website will be based on submissions from high schoolers, which includes blogs, comments, and videos. It’s also going to be run by his 17-year-old niece.
Current topics on the site include, “Live from Madison: What’s happening now??”, “What do you think about the revolution in Egypt?”, and “Did your science teachers teach you evolution? Or did they dodge the subject?”
And it even features a picture of what appears to be Moore in High School:
The site currently includes a blog post by a high school student in California* who says she learned about the site from her English teacher, and also admits that Moore’s videos have become a part of classroom learning. So much so that one teacher hasn’t even opened the necessary textbook “once”:
Well, I found out about this website through my AP English teacher. I live in a small town in California and I attend a public high school where nobody gives a damn about what’s going on in the world of politics, everybody’s too busy on Facebook and Twitter and Youtube, feeling hopeless, wasting time and being oblivious to the ways in which capitalism is oppressive to many outside of the U.S., and how it affects their own minimum wage jobs and inappropriate living conditions. In fact, if it weren’t for an AP U.S. history teacher who taught against the curriculum, teaching us history straight out of Howard Zinn and Ronald Takaki’s books; many students today would still be oblivious to the ways in which the American government has screwed non-Europeans over for decades, justifying violence against humanity and nature with Manifest Destiny and other BS of that sort. In class this year we have watched a couple of Moore’s movies and read some of his work, as our English teacher is also working against the curriculum, so much so that we have not opened the Houghton Mifflin book once the entire school year. Our educational system needs to change and students have to be taught the truth about free-trade, democracy and how it was a stolen idea from the Iroquois league rather than an original idea out of the minds of America’s founding fathers. [Emphasis added]
“[H]ere in the U.S. you’re told to obey and to basically butt out and let the adults run the show,” Moore writes. “Let’s change that!”
*The Blaze has left a message with the high school regarding the student’s claims. We have not heard back.

The reason is “our English teacher is also working against the curriculum,” Is this the result of having a monopolistic union with dictatorial powers? No wonder that our high school students cannot read and add when they graduate. It is time to retake our schools and teach our students something besides Communist and Socialist views. None of these young people who rage against the government will be happy with what they get. Karl Marx once said, “When communism is successful there will be no such thing as private property.” I guess that If you want to own no belongings and have no desire of individual accomplishment, it will be a Utopia! AND………….Mr. Moore will only be allowed to make the movies that will be approved by the government. So much for creative freedom!
