Michael Moore Gloats Over GOP ‘Smack Down’ in Obamacare Ruling, Says We’re On the Road to Universal Health Care

In an interview with Democracy Now to discuss the historic Supreme Court ruling on Obamacare, controversial filmmaker Michael Moore told his hosts that in spite of all his “concerns” that the Affordable Care Act does not go “far enough” in establishing universal health care, the high court’s decision “really is a huge victory for our side.”
The “right wing was handed a serious defeat,“ Moore gloated as he called the SCOTUS ruling a ”real smack-down“ of how Republicans ”believe our country should be structured.”
“Everyone should feel good right now.”
Moore focused on next steps and said that while everyone should “pause and celebrate this victory,“ the left must continue to ”keep moving the ball down the field.”
Ultimately, Moore would like to see a a single-payer system in effect, and believes the Court’s ruling will make it easier for progressives to realize this goal.
“It moves history forward on the right path,” Moore said of the single-payer, universal health care system he hopes to achieve.
The only downside to the SCOTUS decision, according to Moore, is that insurance companies will reap financial benefits as well. He insisted that lawmakers ”can’t allow private insurance“ to make a profit ”off of people being sick.”
Oddly, while Chief Justice Roberts is garnering praise among most leftists for handing down the vote that ultimately swung Obamacare in the president’s favor, other progressives believe his decision was merely a sinister push to help insurance companies profit.

Without him there never would have been a successful universal health care movement in the USA. Just because he has a metabolism problem is no reason to write so many hateful things. He has feelings just like you and your mother do. Think about that if you are so perfect.

Posted on June 30, 2012 at 12:27amI wonder what would happen if Mike was in some tragic accident and lost everything and had to live with Ocare? First I would guess that he would wait some time to see a primary care for any ailment. Judging by his girth, I know I am rather large myself, he might have high blood pressure, high cholesterol, type 2 diabetes and perhaps some other ailments associated with weight and age, maybe arthritis in his knees and hips. Based solely on his age I would bet that arthritis is a factor in his life. He might need a hip or knee replacement or two. A conservative ortho doc would say in order to avoid post op complications (infection) you must lose 50+ pounds and control your other conditions. Back to primary care, after another wait. “But Mike the most effective drugs for your metabolic conditions are still under patent so Ocare won’t pay for them”. Well okay there are still some generics that will work. Mike works hard and in a year has lost weight on will power alone as his arthritis interferes with his exercise regime. He is now scheduled for his second orthopedic appointment in 3-6 months. He sees the Doc and is scheduled for x-rays in 2-3 months and surgery in 6-9 months. So, he is tuned up for surgery and has surgery after waiting about two years more than if he was under the current system. In the interim a group of medical professionals have reviewed his records and decided that he would not benefit from the surgery as much as a 30 year old with rheumatoid and was denie

That part [the wisdom of it] they leave up to the citizens of our land. If the law is that we all need insurance by 2014, how do we guarantee that the Snakes in the insurance business won’t see that as easy pray and jack the prices up through the roof? Then every employer that offers insurance will drop it, and then we all become a recipient of a single provider; the US government. That is a fearful thought. Just look at what they have done with our Social Security “LOCK BOX” it has been plundered beyond recognition and very well could be lost by the time 2030 comes around. The USPS is going down. He thinks it was a smack down, but it is keeping Obama out of Commerce where he could fact track his agenda. Roberts knew what he was doing. Obama & the Dems are now responsible for the largest tax increase on low & moderate income people and small businesses in history.
