Michael Moore Jokes Jesus Was Gay

Michael Moore promotes his book at Georgetown University

Speaking at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. Friday, Michael Moore, as usual, dropped a few bombs. Even the “f” bomb.

“Sorry I said [the f-word] the first time. I didn’t realize I was in a church,” the filmmaker, wearing his trademark trucker cap, joked to an auditorium comprised of a few hundred students, faculty and news media.

The liberal filmmaker was invited to the Catholic school to discuss his book, “Here Comes Trouble.” But he also spoke at length about health care, young voters’ disenchantment with President Barack Obama and the need for the wealthy to pay higher taxes. He said affluent Americans “seemed happy” when their income was taxed at a higher rate (“60 and 70 percent”).

Moore, who was raised Catholic, used Christian themes throughout his speech. At one point he joked that Jesus was gay.

“You know those 12 men Jesus was always hanging out with? Mhm,” he said to laughter.

Moore made a few more provocative comments during the question-and-answer portion of his talk. When asked by a student, who said he was British, if a country can be considered “civilized” if it’s “legal to own an AK-47″ machine gun, Moore said no.

“If you want protection, get a dog,” he said.

Another student asked about the 2004 documentary, “Michael Moore Hates America” and why Moore declined to participate in it. Moore said he doesn‘t hate America and those who disagree with his political views don’t either.

“I assume [Republicans] love this country. I start with that assumption,” he said.

      Well Moore, you make unsubstantiated claims directed at Jesus Christ who you WILL one day bow to and beg forgiveness from. His decision is His business, but if I were you I wouldn’t hold out much hope of finding what you will seek.

      We pretty much know what Jesus looked like ethnically. He was Semitic & he was a Jew, which means he was a different race & ethnicity than people in Europe & the Americas. Most Christians for 2,000 years that Jesus was Semitic or closely related to the Arabs ethnically & they don’t care, because the message is what is important.

      There was some racism among some Christians for a time but that is fading. So bringing up that Jesus was black is just a ploy to stir things up,. It is like Lady Gaga wearing a meat dress. Many Christians seek out black bishops rather than have wishy-washy bishops say anything goes.

      The whole gay thing is a lie and further stirring the pot. I would think that since the disciples were around Jesus for a long time, they would know him. And at least 2 of them specifically preached against homosexuality.

      Mike Moore is about as Catholic as Russian Jews are who never go to a synagogue & espouse some form of socialism. He is as hypocritical too. They would never travel to Mother Russia to live communism, they just want to say they support it and live upper class lives in America.

      I believe Moore once stated that when he was younger, he considered becoming a Catholic priest. He obviously went the other way. And the fact he was so disrespectful as to curse in church, and imply Jesus was gay is unbelievable. This man is evil. What does this say about Georgetown for even having him at their school? Why would they ask this immoral man to speak to their impressionable young people? Did the administration just sit back an listen to his blasphemous rants? Were they impressed? If this Catholic institution does not renounce him, it speaks volumes and no one should ever consider sending their kids there. I am not Catholic but if I was, I would be contacting the Vatican on this one.

Not too bright. I’ve been a special ed. teacher and when you have kids you know are just doing bizarre things (or saying them) for attention, you DON’T give it to them. I think this nation need to learn that. Sure, sometimes we need to take a stand (as in the case of Islam trying to take over the world or something like that). But people like Moore?       @Americanborn — In case you did not know: Georgetown is a CINO (Catholic In Name -and by association- Only) University! Its board of directors may include some Jesuits, but these men are definitely not interested in, or compelled to teach Catholic values. In fact, they very the opposite, all under the pretense of “academic freedom,‘ which is the politically correct code word for ’academic LICENCE.’
      Georgetown is not like BYU, an institution under the forceful thumb of the ‘men in black’ whose office is on Salt Lake’s temple square.

      The trouble is, in addition to this fool, there is a staggering majority of people who have never read the Bible in its entirety and yet claim to know the first thing about it. Some people on this board have actually asked, “How do we know he wasn’t gay?” Perhaps it‘s because He’s the Holy Triune God. God, no matter what anyone says, said in His Bible that he does not approve of being gay. Jesus redefined how we treat “sinners,” however – in a compassionate and greatly humble way because we are no better. He still spoke plainly about what was wrong, but he didn’t hit you over the head with it in most cases. I’ll be labeled a “hater” for this, but it should be said that the Bible condemns just about everything I do as well, so I’m no better. Furthermore I have a handful of gay friends, all of which would vouch for me that I treat them as well as anyone else. The Bible is still the Bible, though, and you can’t make stuff up about it or twist it around to suit your own behavior. I include myself in this statement.

      @sizzler2220, this is not picking on you, but, a general thought for all who post here that believe in our Christian/Judeo background and support our Constitution and the meaning of it which created the greatest nation on the planet. Glenn Beck is a Mormon. I very much disagree “theologically” with some of those beliefs. But, I do very much so agree with Glenn that the commonality of our Christian/Judeo morals (from many religeous persuasions) combine us in a unique position to strive for the best for our country as a united group. Worship as you like, just don‘t wan’t to kill me for how I worship. With that said, I believe the insightful invention of this site by Glenn Beck allows everyone to post as they see fit. However, let’s keep it respectful and freak out the liberal left that there are so many more of us who are insightful, intelligent and religeous than mud slinging, name calling race baiting liberals. America will lose if we don’t keep to some semblance of morale standards. Beck is creating all these sites and opportunities to help us get those idea’s disseminated due to the lack of honest reporting from the media. Conservatives now have a forum. This may be our last opportunity to make a difference. Let’s not blow it for a few funny quips that might make us feel good now. We have to rise above all of that and prove to be the leaders and not sheeple.

      I am not sure why you just got lectured about civility on a thread where Michael Moore just referred to Jesus as Gay. I am not sure why so many of the Tea Party adherents here have of late become purveyors of the Rodney King…”why can’t we all get along” mindset and so any comments even rhetorical ones noting Michael Moore’s stinky fat a$$ somehow diminish a person’s viability or credibilty as a Tea party member….it seems to me that those of you Tea Party members who keep asking people to tone it down or “rise above the rhetoric” are literally in some ways turning into the very hunks of “Velveeta Cheese”…..that gave rise to the Tea Party movement in the first place. Why should a Tea Party member even care what a liberal thinks of them? I don’t get it…all the lecturing of late about toning down the comments…..this isn’t Sunday School…it’s a political web based forum.

    Moore was correct when he said that a country can not be considered civilized if a citizen is allowed to purchase an AK47?
    The truth is that the higher the percentage of gun ownership the lower the crime rate is. Perhaps prevention of crime is because some choose to stay alive by being honest and others have their criminal career violently terminated preventing repitition of further criminal acts,
    So for a country to be civilised all citizens should required to own a gun and to demonstrate proficiency on a biannual rate. (exceptions for conscience objectors.)

      Ok, mike… if a dog is a substitute for an AK-47… then why aren’t the militaries just using dogs? you make no sense… you can’t deinvent weapons, criminals don’t care about the law, hence “Criminal”… they have them, so should every law abiding citizen…

      also mike, it’s not very green, infact it’s highly unfriendly, environmentally, to suggest that people get dogs for protection. a gun does not put out waste everyday and need to consume resources to exist.
