Michael Moore Lashes Out at Reporter: ‘You’re Just Punk Media Is All You Are’

Michael Moore is getting sick and tired of having to explain why he is not is actually part of the “1%” but is still championing the the cause of the “99%” despite his bank balance. In fact, he snapped at a local Denver reporter on Thursday who pressed him on the issue, placing his hand on the reporter’s shoulder and delivering a stern warning.

MyFoxDC.com explains the exchange:

As Moore left the protest to go to a book signing event Thursday evening, a reporter from KCNC-TV asked if his rumored wealth made him part of the one percent the “Occupy” movement was protesting against.

“I do very well,” he replied, “Because I do well, I want taxes raised on people who do well, including mine.”

But when asked how he is helping the protesters with his $50 million, Moore said, “I don’t have $50 million,” before growing exasperated and telling the reporter, “You’re just punk media is all you are. You lie. You lie to people. Stop lying to people. Stop lying.”

You can watch it below:

So what about that $50 million “rumor?” A couple things. First, it’s something The Blaze mentioned on Oct. 13Oct. 26, and Oct. 28. Second, it should be noted that we referenced the number as Moore’s alleged worth, not the amount he currently has on hand. That’s also how CelebrityNetWorth.com put it when it released its estimation of Moore’s — which would be the total value of his assets minus his liabilities.

Despite lashing out at the reporter, Moore admitted: “I do very well. Because I do well, I want taxes raised on people who do well, including mine.”

Isn’t “snapped” and “lashed” a bit too….active….for verbs in this situation?

I’m thinking more like “He tried to get out of his chair, started sweating profusely, collapsed back down out of breath and muttered curse words at the reporter”.

    Accuracy – I has it!

most of you may not know this, but in the black community, calling someone a punk is a very derogatory homosexual term. Same word whites use, but different meaning. In the black community it means a man that has sex with other men against their will, but don’t defend themselves. Michael moore calling the black reporter a punk is an extreme hateful term that he is well aware of, just thought you would like to know

@ishka4me…i assume are black..which is not a problem at all with me if you have read any of my posts I am an equal opportunity gaffer and poke at everyone including myself many times…but i would love to discuss how a word can mean a different thing to a black person than it does to a white one? And trust me…I am not loading the question up for you to get slammed on here…i am genuinely interested in or at what point a word….any word…slang or not…can have a “different” meaning to people of color than others? I mean people of color around the world speak a multitude of literal and actual languages….so it is not or rather can’t be an issue based on color….it has to be based on something I find unique and interesting as if the “ownership” of certain words was held based on ethnicity. I mean I think you would agree with me that the word punk for example did not originate in the inner city and yet it apparently is more disparaging to be called that than say…the ‘N” word….or is it not the word at all?.but rather who is actually delivering it? I would submit and i say this with the utmost sincerity and respect that one way the black community could improve racial tension should it enter a moment of time or place….is for black folks to stop filtering the meaning of any word through the lens of color. It is not a “black” thing to find the word punk more offensive than it really is..it is in my opinion just the first part of “not listening”.

“The crime or tort of intentionally or recklessly causing offensive physical contact or bodily harm (as by striking or by administering a poison or drug) that is NOT CONSENTED TO by the victim.” (From Findlaw legal dictionary, caps added.)

Assault is the threat, battery is the contact.

Any one confronting these punks need to first read their bible, “Rules for Radicals” and then utilize the tactics described against them. Tit for tat…make outlandish claims and watch as these idiots try to defend themselves. I agree, as soon as Mr. Moore put his hand on the reporter’s should, the reporter should have claimed and filed assault charges. That is what Mr. Moore would have done. Seriously folks, if you haven’t read Rules for Radicals you need to in order to understand how these people think. Once you read this book you will see the tactics being used on a daily basis. It really is quite amazing…it’s all in the book. Remember it is crucial to understand how your enemy thinks in order to defeat them.

She hates being there, but she is willing to go to the food bank rather than let her children face hunger. That is what the safety net is for. Needing help once in a while should label her a ‘taker’. When she gets back on her feet, she will do more than pay it back. But so many of the self-proclaimed 99% are just takers, and they think that is their right. That is all they know how to do. And because of them, people like my friend get a bad wrap.

The difference between your fiend and a taker is the taker makes it their life style to just scam the government anyway they can. Someone who falls on hard times and only uses the system as it was intended (as a hand up, not a hand out) is not a taker. Takers are usually 2nd and 3rd generation of welfare recipients.

Most of the serious “takers” who have crossed my path have actually been white men from middle to upper middle class backgrounds. Some have decided to scam the system as a full time job, while others use it for additional income. Many work off the books full time, and/or are drug dealers, and/or are involved in a variety of criminal schemes and scams. More than a few drive to the Food Stamp office in their Cadillacs or their Lexus’, own at least one house in several states, and consider themselves to be ever so smart and ever so revolutionary for “getting over on” the government. They are inevitably con men in their dealings with everyone, but in some circles that’s seen as a sign of intelligence, and as being very very cool.

Okay, yes, Michael Moore has a lot of wealth, and he is in rarified air, but does he make decisions that affect the economy, no. Does he affect Government policy, no. Does he control companies that do either of these things, no. That is why he isn’t part of the 1%. By the way, Beck is worth a lot, too, but he isn’t part of the 1% either, and for the same reason. Michael Moore realizes that he has advantages that others don’t, and that he has more in common with the protesters than he does with the bankers. Recognizing that doesn’t make him a traitor to his money, it makes him a member of the 99%.

Yes, Glenn is in the 1%, you can’t change facts just to simply fit your socialist agenda. Oops, my bad, you’re a liberal. What was I thinking. Lol.

@Silas, no, he might be described as a Socialist or a Leftist, but he isn’t a Communist. And yes, there are differences. He is also a strong believer in Catholic Social Justice.

@JoeConservative, No, Glennie’s income is in that top 1%, but he isn’t. He isn’t a mover or a shaker on the political and economic stage, he’s just a side show barker. He’d like to be part of the 1%, but they won’t let him in. He gets an invite to the lobby bar, but he doesn’t get into the conference room. Michael Moore gets invited to MSNBC and he makes movies that Liberals like, but he’s not part of the power structure, and he knows it.

Oh, so now the 1% is those who are in charge of making monetary or political decisions and the 99% only protest those in the 1% who do? So, why aren’t they protesting Washington? Why aren’t they protesting at the Fed? They say they oppose the Fed, but are they occupying it? No. So your arguments are made of straw. They are protesting the RICH. Michael Moore is worth 50 million, I would say that makes him rich. His money and political persuasion gain him entrance to all areas of politics, and he often inserts himself in the political issue of the day on TV and in print. I’d say he is part of that 1%, so he should be occupied just as much as any other 1%!

Of course Moore makes decisions that affect the economy, you dolt!! He‘s a business man and he’s made a LOT of money! How does that NOT affect the economy?? Does he not employ people? Does he not PAY them, or do they work for free…? So what you’re saying is that people (or corporations) who don’t “affect the economy” and don‘t influence government policy shouldn’t have to pay more in taxes…? Only those who DO all those things should pay more…?? That reeks of taxation for punishment, which is what this is all about, really. Just because YOU made some bad decisions in life, don’t make everyone else suffer for it.

Deser: Just what the heck is Catholic Social Justice? Is there a Protestant Social Justice? Is it different than Obama Social Justice?

@Barber, Look up Catholic Social Teaching in Wikipedia. You’ll see all you need to see. Or contact a Catholic diocese and ask them.
@USACommoner, yes, he does employ a few people, that makes him a business owner, it doesn’t make him a giant corporation. No one looks to him as they do to Rupert Murdoch or the Koch brothers or George Soros for that matter.
@Chrisknits and RS9, I have no idea what you’re talking about, and neither do you. RS9, you are in serious need of help.

So, let me get this straight. He wants taxes raised on people who do well. Has he been prohibited from paying more than he was supposed to? No. If he thinks the rich should pay more he would have already done it.
