Michael Moore: People Own Guns Because They’re Fearful Racists

Appearing on MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow Show, liberal filmmaker Michael  Moore expressed his bewilderment as to why the United States is such a “violent” country and wondered aloud why anyone would want to own a gun.  According to Moore, people only own guns because they’re racist and “afraid” of “people of color.”

    I would like to hear Moore explain why gun shows have such diverse attendance including women if gun owners are white racists. Every gun show I have attended have every race and ethnicity represented. Women are one of the fastest growing groups buying firearms. I would love to see a filmaker turn the tables on Moore and make a documentary on his lies and distorted editing of quotes. This filmmaker should also interview former employees of Moore`s organization who will reveal that this so called friend of the working man was a tyrannical employer who disrespects and demeans his hired help. Moore was stupid enough to claim in the movie Sicko that the modern Cuban hospital that he claimed was for their citizens was only for members of the Communist Party and foreigners all too willing to be duped by the Cuban government.

    Hilarious, Maddow and Moore saying what’s in THEIR heads and how they think. What‘s funnier is the fact that they propose to be able to tell what WE’re thinking despite the fact that they prove over and over again that they can’t fathom reason and logic and the fact that guns, and the right to bear arms were considered 1) a means for people to arm themselve incase of foreign aggression at home so that when called to the militia the government hadn‘t reduced the number of armed citizen’s and 2) as a safe guard against an oppressive government in case they began to fail to protect people’s lives liberty and the pursuit of happiness. The second which is clearly happening, since the government can sieze your land if they deem it necessary and give you less than what it’s worth, and can now seize your business if they deem it necessary. Furthermore the reason that more rural areas have more guns is because of hunting mostly, where the he#* am I going to shoot a deer in the city. These two are just completely in their own little world.

      Lemme break down his “statements’ in order. This fat effing stupid slob….
      #1:”There’s a reason why we wanna own these guns”- My Grampa always said, better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it”.
      #2: “The vast majority of guns are owned by people in safe parts of towns”…..WHY do you think they are safe parts of towns? MAYBE because the criminals who invade KNOW THE VAST MAJORITY of the citizens own guns? Get back to that soon too.
      #3: “We have a very low gun murder rate here in Tucson”. Arizona has the THIRD lowest carry laws in the country. Are you gonna “throw down” on granny if you think she may be packing?
      #4: “A third of those killed are killed by a gun found in the house”. WELL. MAYBE they should have gone to a range, and KNOWN what the cosequences were if their gun was found and NOT by the police in the owner’s hands, with several exit wounds out the back of the invader.
      #5: “Who does that person look like? It’s not freakle-faced Jimmy down the road”. Mr. Moore, we don’t know WHAT that person will look like, and even “freakle faced jimmy” could turn out to be a bad boy. But it doesn’t MATTER what they look like if they are in our home seeking to do harm.
      #6: And to the final point that Americans own guns because we are scared of the “black” boogyman, well, I don‘t really give a rat’s ass what color you are if you invade me or my family, either inside or outside my home. If you violate our rights to exist freely, then you will be shot center mass, even if it is my 13 year old daughter fighting back. Do not EVER think it is ok to violate my space, or the space of my family without repricussion. You will not live long enough to regret it.

      NEW YORK — Filmmaker Michael Moore’s (search) bodyguard was arrested for carrying an unlicensed weapon in New York’s JFK airport Wednesday night.

      Police took Patrick Burke, who says Moore employs him, into custody after he declared he was carrying a firearm at a ticket counter. Burke is licensed to carry a firearm in Florida and California, but not in New York. Burke was taken to Queens central booking and could potentially be charged with a felony for the incident.

      Moore’s 2003 Oscar-winning film “Bowling for Columbine” criticizes what Moore calls America’s “culture of fear” and its obsession with guns.

      Also, I continue to be amazed at the use of statistics by the libs. They are busy counting “guns” but forget about “counting” the atrocities in other countries done “legally” by militias and rebels in the name of tyranny.       I actually like Michael Moore. I think he has done much to expose injustice and I think he is well meaning and has a big heart. But I do not think his talent in filmmaking reflect his ability to reason and problem solve and that may be the result of a poor educational system in the community where he grew up. He has also sort of painted himself into a corner and probably because of poor self esteem he is reluctant to say anything that does not reflect the ultra liberal line. He may also have a martyr complex. That I think comes from his religious background. I just wish he would stick to making movies and stay off the talk circuit because he keeps sticking his foot in his mouth.

      2. In the country many places don’t have police, we may have a Sheriff. If you have a problem or intruder you don’t have the police at your home in 5 minutes to help you have to defend yourself and your family.
      3. Guns are a part of our culture, we like to shoot for sport sometimes.

      Since when, by the way, are the posters on the blaze raving lunatics? Have you ever seen the comments on the Huffington Post’s comment section/forums? It’s a vile pit of hatred and despair.

      Furthermore, this is still an upstart site. It’s going to get much bigger and organized soon. As it stands right now, it might seem like we’re just ranting and raving .. but that’s only because this comment section is very simple and hard to keep up with. People post a lot of stuff in ONE thread on many topics .. so it gets read / commented on. Is this hard for you to figure out? Once the site becomes more advanced, real conversations and such will break out due to the fact that folks will be able to reply to individual comments .. and get e-mail notification of replies etc.

      I wouldn’t expect you to understand, though …

Moore doesn‘t understand the Constitution and doesn’t understand that a gun owner is far more likely to uphold the law then to break it. Gun owners also are an intrical part of keeping the balance of power from the government to the people. We must never completely trust our government to lead us but rather pose a threat to government if they so want to increase power by limiting our liberty. Moore doesn’t understand that THIS was the true intention of the 2nd Amendment as the people are really in charge and government is setup to protect our way of life against all enemies foreign and domestic.

      Moore, yet another idiot that has no clue how the mind works in Americans. Ask Moore why criminals never break into the police station to rob it. Also, gun owners that don’t get the proper training to use their weapons are more a liability than an asset to their neighborhood. You must have a proper storage place and plan set forth for when you need to act upon it. He also fails to address that people have security systems in place to scare away people that attempt to break in, motion sensor lights and barking dogs. He fails to see that people with weapons are not Dirty Harry replicas but rather people that wish to avoid regret when they could have done something.

      If we take his estimate that a third of all home invasion robberies resulting in the shooting of the occupants with the owner’s own gun to be plausible, his conclusion that guns in the home will most likely kill the occupants, is false. The numbers are still on the side of successful defense and may suggest that current state gun laws may be interfering with an owners right to have a gun readily available for defense. One such law allows you to have a gun, but it must be locked up. It also suggests that with gun ownership comes the common sense accountability that you know how to use and tactically deploy it’s use within ones home. Many here in California that do have guns in the home hesitate to use them do to the convoluted self defense laws. The successful use of firearms in the home most likely will end up with you being dragged into a minimum of a civil suit and possibly a criminal suit as well.

      His statement that we in the suburbs own guns because we are racist is a non-sequitor. It may be that we have little violent crime compared to the urban areas due to high gun ownership. Big urban cities response to gang violence is to disarm the population or regulate arms possession to the point of it being impractical. Chicago & San Francisco comes to mind. The end run of this gun control is a permanent defenseless victim class and no impact on criminal illegal gun possession. The thugs win and will always have the upper hand. In the suburban areas, local officials are elected to represent the desires of their constituency. One of those mandates are the freedom to posses and bear arms. therefore it is my opinion that gun ownership is not racially motivated.

      I am beginning to think that legislators in California have constituents that are made up of felons when they regulate the non-lethal weapons to be ineffective. This is the case with pepper sprays. God help a rape victim that uses California legal pepper spray as it will just infuriate but not stop the rapist.

      So, right off the bat, thanks to 101, we know that the statement

      According to Moore, people only own guns because they’re racist and “afraid” of “people of color.” is not true. It is not the sole reason that people own guns.

      Okay, in my city, which is the sixth largest in our Democratic state the last four gun murders have all been people of “color” and — wait for it —- committed by “people of color”. So, if the victim is “of color” and the “perp” is “of color”, is it racist? Oh, yeah, and two of the victims supposedly had guns. I say supposedly, because one victim had a gun but didn’t have it with him. There are conflicting stories about the other victim.

      Human beings only have two ways to deal with one another: reason and force.
      If you want me to do something for you, you have a choice of either convincing me via argument, or force me to do your bidding under threat of force.
      Every human interaction falls into one of those two categories, without exception. Reason or force, that’s it.

      In a truly moral and civilized society, people exclusively interact through persuasion.
      Force has no place as a valid method of social interaction, and the only thing that removes force from the menu is the personal firearm, as paradoxical as it may sound to some.

      When I carry a gun, you cannot deal with me by force.
      You have to use reason and try to persuade me, because I have a way to negate your threat or employment of force.

      The gun is the only personal weapon that puts a 100-pound woman on equal footing with a 220-pound mugger, a 75-year old retiree on equal footing with a 19-year old gang banger, and a single guy on equal footing with a carload of drunk guys with baseball bats. The gun removes the disparity in physical strength, size, or numbers between a potential attacker and a defender.

      There are plenty of people who consider the gun as the source of bad force equations.
      These are the people who think that we’d be more civilized if all guns were removed from society, because a firearm makes it easier for a [armed] mugger to do his job.
      That, of course, is only true if the mugger’s potential victims are mostly disarmed either by choice or by legislative fiat–it has no validity when most of a mugger’s potential marks are armed.

      People who argue for the banning of arms ask for automatic rule by the young, the strong, and the many, and that’s the exact opposite of a civilized society. A mugger, even an armed one, can only make a successful living in a society where the state has granted him a force monopoly.

      Then there’s the argument that the gun makes confrontations lethal that otherwise would only result in injury.
      This argument is fallacious in several ways. Without guns involved, confrontations are won by the physically superior party inflicting overwhelming injury on the loser.

      People who think that fists, bats, sticks, or stones don’t constitute lethal force watch too much TV, where people take beatings and come out of it with a bloody lip at worst.
      The fact that the gun makes lethal force easier works solely in favor of the weaker defender, not the stronger attacker. If both are armed, the field is level.

      The gun is the only weapon that’s as lethal in the hands of an octogenarian as it is in the hands of a weight lifter.
      It simply wouldn‘t work as well as a force equalizer if it wasn’t both lethal and easily employable.

      When I carry a gun, I don’t do so because I am looking for a fight, but because I’m looking to be left alone.
      The gun at my side means that I cannot be forced, only persuaded. I don‘t carry it because I’m afraid, but because it enables me to be unafraid. It doesn’t limit the actions of those who would interact with me through reason, only the actions of those who would do so by force.
      It removes force from the equation… and that’s why carrying a gun is a civilized act.

      It is not gun owners faults that the majority of people who do break ins and burglarize homes are minorities! However there are quite a few Caucasian people who have been known to break in and burglarize homes. But it seems Caucasian seem to wait until no one is home to break in while others will just kick in the door and not care if anyone is home. In the city I live in, 100% of kick in robberies when someone was home was done by African Americans and that is fact. I researched into it and in the past 3 years all of the kick in robberies while the homeowner was home was done by African Americans. And there is always 2 to 4 of them! I mean, are the facts racist. This is just simple fact, not racism. I am very, very far from being racist, but you can not hide the facts!!!!! I own guns to hunt and for protection. We always have a handgun within a foot or two of wherever we go in the house because you never know when that door will be kicked in by a robber or two. Here they always have a gun when they do their robberies! Facts are facts, are facts racist????

      It’s not just that something stupid comes out of his mouth, it’s that every time he opens his mouth the collective I.Q of the planet decreases…but it’s not just him–it’s every lib-loon. The elites wonder why Americans are so “dumb.” Well, it’s because there are so many liberal “pundits” opening their mouths, spewing their irrational, brain-dead, back-assward, anti-intellectual, quasi-intelligible, nonsensical drivel, thereby reducing the intellectual capacity of rational, intelligent, thinking people throughout the world (they’re trying to bring us down to their level). Moore, Dopermann, Madcow, Huffingdunce, the laughing academy at the NY Times, and all the rest need to be set adrift in shark-infested waters in a leaky boat.       Dearest Michael, I am sorry to hear about your brain damage. I will try to be very clear. The reason that there are not alot of murders or home invasions is because people HAVE guns. I know this concept is hard for you to understand but try to remember it this way, In America we have a right to own a gun to
      P-R-O-T-E-C-T ourselves, our home and our family. Most dumb criminals are much friendlier when the barrel of a gun is what they see at the end of their nose when they try to rob you or hurt you. They will usually respond in one of two ways – either by dying or being wounded, or running away hoping they don’t get shot in the ass. Many Americans find it to be a very effective way to communicate with criminals. T
