Michael Reagan Responds to Brother‘s Alzheimer’s Claims: He‘s an ’Embarrassment’

Over the last few days, it was revealed that Ronald Reagan’s son, Ron, suggests in his new book that his father may have had Alzheimer’s disease while still president. That didn’t sit well with this brother, Michael who took to Twitter to try and shame Ron by calling him an “embarrassment.” On Monday, Michael appeared on CBS’s “Early Morning” show to explain his disgust.
Michael’s foremost goal was defending his late father. “Somebody with dementia does not accomplish all of those things,” Michael said during the interview while referring to the president’s final years in office. He added that Ron’s statements are simply fodder for Reagan detractors such as Bill Maher. But defense gave way to offense as Michael also got personal, saying the family is not even sure if Ron voted for his father while he was running for president:
The personal attack was a carry over from Micheal’s Twitter account. Between Friday and Monday, he tweeted a series of scathing messages in response to Ron’s suggestion:

Ron Jr once again proves liberalism is a mental disorder and the truth is not what the facts are, but what their delusional brain whats it to be.

Posted on January 17, 2011 at 1:58pmGood point. Ron must need even more money, and apparently knows that saying such things will help the sales a little – netting him a little more. We all knew President Reagan was a great president and a very noble man. We were saddened by his disease, to know it would rob his body of that wonderful mind. It is a shame his son Ron could not see the greatness in his dad, and has spend the last quarter century trying to defame his legacy. But, for the son, the saddest thing is what the love of money has done to him. He can do no harm to his father’s lasting feats, but only does further harm to himself. Praying for Ron, that he finds the Savior and has a chance to be forgiven his sins.

It is one thing to have issues with your parents privately but to insult your parents publicly and particularly such an important historical figure tells me that he is being played like a fiddle. Why is that so many Americans let people with evil intentions influence them? It speaks to ron’s weak character and his own self hatred. Before opening your mouth ask yourself do other people protect their image and if so why do they encourage you to destroy yours and that of your family? It is not rocket science.
