Michele Bachmann Calls for Obama to Demand Geithner’s Resignation

Michele Bachmann called for President Barack Obama to demand Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner’s resignation in response to S&P’s downgrade of the U.S. credit rating Friday.
The Republican presidential candidate and Minnesota congresswoman spoke with Fox’s Greta Van Susteren just after the news broke.
“President Obama is destroying the foundations of our economy one beam at a time. I call on the president to seek the immediate resignation of Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner and to submit a plan with his list of cuts to balance the budget this year, turn the economy around and put our people back to work.”
“I’m very concerned that the administration tomorrow might look for anyone else to blame. They may blame the Tea Party, they may blame the ratings agency or anyone else. They knew it was coming this year in January but they didn‘t write a plan and they still don’t have a plan.”

All they will do is bring in another Wallstreet insider who will take care of his friends and cronies. Remember Hank Paulson, under Bush… we need the first stimulus or the world as we knew it was going to end. Not to mention, Bernanke will keep the printing presses in full gear. GE3 is just around the corner. Remember when he swore in front of Congress what we would not monitize the debt back in 2009… Seems to me that was a false statement made to Congress… where are the subpoenas. We need an entire overhaul of Congress and the WH!
As a side note: Just heard the loser Huckabee on Fox Saturday say we could print money and pay our debts… this is the philosophy that has poisoned our political culture and helped get us into this mess.

I’ve not seen many rail about Impeachment procedings or seldom seen anyone call for Impeachement. This appears to be a systimatic dismemberment of the Constitition one small step at a time and is nothing short of Treason by Admistration and many members of Congress. When is enough enough and we stand up for what we believe in and stop being pushed around by 2% that might be offended? We might not have the time left for 2012 to make a statement that matters so we should be very loud about getting back to basics. God (as you understand him), family, principals, honesty, and personal responistility.

Posted on August 6, 2011 at 10:05am@Moonrunner — At each of the blog sights, journals on line, news sights online, and even via e-mails and letters to the editors for print newspapers, I have been calling for the imepachment of Mr Obama, and the criminal trials on at least treason, usurping of the government of the US and the Constitution, along with sedition and any other charges that would stick.
I have even e-mailed and sent normal snail mail letters to the White House calling for Mr Obama to step down from the Presidency. Nothing with threats or intimidation; just calling for his removal from office by the established and legal means availible to Congress and the courts.
Right now, why does no state level DA have the guts to charge Obama with these crimes? There was at the end of the Bush administrations time a TX DA that did the same in regards to war crimes having been commited…so the precident is already set.

I see this written and hear it spoken a lot lately, yet no one offers what this 'overhaul' is. My response to this, and should be the response of every responsible American, is that if you call for an 'overhaul' that does not bring us back to what our founders intended then you do not have my support. If you call for the downfall of our Republic, then you do not have my support. If you call for violent revolution……… then you do not have my support.
You may not be calling for any of these things. You may be calling for the same as many of us – restoring the states powers (reinstating the Senate as intended), limiting the powers of the executive branch, abolishing current tax loopholes/deductions and/or the IRS and implementing either a flat tax or making sure we don't have 47% non-payers. A constitutional amendment balancing the budget, not to be violated unless a formal declaration of war is issued against a recognized sovereign nation. And so on and so forth. (the list is long)
I stray from the topic at hand and I apologize for that, but I ask again what type of 'overhaul' are you arguing for?
Oh and Timmy G. is a good starting point… and if the next one tries the same? He/she will be another good starting point! :o)

Not much can be done with the current admin in place…but we can put pressure on them to prevent even more damage.
We need to demand that Congress reconvene immediately to take drastic measures to cut government spending. By chopping cabinet departments that are redundant at state levels would be a good start.
Do we really need 51 Departments of Educations? Or 51 Transportation Departments? Or 51 Departments of Health & Human Services?

I’ve asked my congress person about impeachment and the answer was “he hasn’t done anything thing that rises to the level of impeachement” … like so many members of congress, they don’t read the Constitution or understand that Congress defines what a “high crime and misdemeaner” can be. Obama’s deliberate destruction of the free market (his hatred for it is in both his books) is enough for me.

These are people who honestly believe that SPENDING is the right thing to do for our economy at this time! Our job is to get rid of most of them this coming election, including Boehner! Any of the good-ole boys that have been in office more than two terms is suspect. ANYONE who has NOT backed a debt plan INCLUDING a balanced budget should be eliminated this coming election! As long as we elect a Tea Party Candidate for President and get rid of that Fascist, Marxist Communist we have in office now, we may recover. BOTH the House AND the Senate MUST be overhauled with Tea Party candidates who actually understand what the Constitution is and what it says! Next, we MUST get rid of the Lifers in the Supreme Court! Someone please do some thinking about how this can be accomplished. We have a leftist radical revolutionary court now. These people have been misinterpreting the Constitution for so long, we have crippled our country with elimination of God from everything! God MUST be allowed back into the public eye, at school, local, state and federal government and everywhere God has been removed due to the “supposed” “separation of church and state”. Let me be clear; Our founding Fathers fought to separate our country from England so that our government would NEVER be able to impose a state religion. Posted on August 6, 2011 at 9:05amWe need to turn to God in this hour and let Him know we are serious, we NEED His help to rid our society of the parasites that have rejected Him and have led our country down a path of political correctness and corruption. If we can only elect Tea Party Candidates to replace those currently in office, we WILL get back the ability to discuss differing ideas from the Dems and the Pubs and then have a vote that will mean something, as opposed to party line politics that mean nothing in the end, but “we the people” are getting screwed by those we have elected! Put in term limits for the House and Senate of maximum of two terms. Make SURE the budget MUST be balanced year year. Make SURE funding for projects extending across years are voted on again each fiscal year. Remove the funding for ALL Obama Bills, and revoke law he imposed upon us by Executive Order! Pass a Bill if required that clearly dictates that Social Security, Medicaid, Medicare and the Military will be paid FIRST after the payment for the National debt. Install a “locked Box” for Social Security, and do like other countries and invest the SS money so that it grows over the time it is held by the government. It is appalling that backward countries can do this, but the USA cannot! Our government needs a COMPLETE overhaul by Candidates who have read and believe in the Constitution, the Declaration of Independence and the Federalist Papers. May God Bless the USA!
