Might AZ Gov. Brewer Not Approve State‘s ’Don‘t Tread on Me’ License Plates?

PHOENIX (AP) — The Arizona Legislature sent a bill to Gov. Jan Brewer that would create a special “Don’t Tread On Me” license plate commemorating tea party supporters.
It would require the plate to feature the rattlesnake emblem and yellow background of the historic Gadsden Flag that is a symbol of the tea party movement.
The measure creating the plate and two others won final approval Tuesday in a 22-8 vote by the Senate.
A Brewer spokesman says the governor hasn’t yet taken a public position on the bill.
She faces a May 2 deadline for acting on the measure sponsored by Republican Sen. Don Shooter.
The Senate deleted a provision in the bill last month to have the state highway fund front $32,000 of startup costs after critics objected.

Posted on April 20, 2011 at 12:43pmWe all want one! Whats with Brewer lately she makes like she is part of the movement and now all of this in the last 2 days!?!?! Her actions of late IMO are those like someone “got to her”! I get it the wording in the gun bill was loose, but the birther bill was a lock and a slap in the face to the WH who has continually taken shots at her, even most recently with the revived immigration reform talks. But who would sit on this license plate thing?!
Something is up with her…. someone got to her!

Posted on April 20, 2011 at 12:44pmyeah, our tea party in Tn is looking to see how we can get one here as well. And as far as Jan Brewer is concerned, I’m gettin a tad concerned. Before the national attention was given her on the immigration issue, her approval rating was pretty low. She took a stand and her ratings shot up. Now, the last couple days, she seems to be going wishy washy again. Have to watch, wait and see

You get tea party in-fighting with Beck sycophants, hard-core constitutionalists(very nice), middle of the roaders, people that just want their soc security, some that think simply the debt is the problem and then you have the people that really give any association a bad name by either feeding or cowering from the media. Yes that is one heck of a run-on sentence.

Posted on April 20, 2011 at 1:27pmThe State already makes license plates, this plate simply requires a new template for colors, type (Don’t Tread on Me), and a logo (the snake). Where does a $32,000.00 cost come from. Will this plate likely generate a demand. Will folks pay extra for the plate and will the demand be high enough to cover the start-up cost and generate a profit to the state? If the answer is Yes, Brewer should sign the bill. If the answer is No, she should not.
