Might Barack Obama Be ‘The Greatest Gun Salesman in America?’ Take a Look…

Gun manufacturers would likely not be the first to come to mind when considering industries who have benefited the most during President Obama’s first term, but a study from Ammo.net finds that firearm sales and concealed handgun permit applications are at all-time highs since the 2008 election.

Just to show a few statistics illustrating what those in the industry call ”the Obama effect:”

  • Ruger’s firearm sales have gone from $117 million to $232 million, an increase of 98%
  • Winchester’s sales of ammunition have gone from $431.7 million to $572 million, an increase of 33%
  • Federal excise taxes collected on the sale of new firearms and ammunition has risen 48.3%
  • January 2012 was the 20th straight month of increases in NICS background checks compared to the same month in the previous year
  • December 2011 saw over 1.41 million NICS background checks run, the most ever for a single month
  • The few states which regularly report concealed carry permit numbers have seen increases in active permit holders ranging from 46% to 161%

The correlation is astounding considering the day after his election the Gun Owners of America speculated that President-elect Obama “will be the most anti-Second Amendment president in the history of America.” The National Rifle Association (NRA) is actively working to defeat President Obama in the 2012 re-election, with NRA CEO Wayne LaPierre telling the 2012 Conservative Political Action Conference:

“Lip service to gun owners is just part of a massive Obama conspiracy to deceive voters and hide his true intentions to destroy the Second Amendment during his second term. We see the president’s strategy crystal clear: Get re-elected and, with no more elections to worry about, get busy dismantling and destroying our firearms’ freedom, erase the Second Amendment from the Bill of Rights and excise it from the U.S. Constitution…When the sun goes down on election day Barack Obama will have America’s gun owners to thank for his defeat.”

Due to the odd trends showing a boom in gun and ammo sales during President Obama’s first term despite strong opposition from Second Amendment enthusiasts who speculate a “fear affect” of an Obama second term leading to stricter gun laws, Ammo.net has produced a cheeky new graphic asking if the firearms industry should support or oppose a second term for the president:

People instinctively sense that this president is dividing the country both politically and racially, and they intuit that something big is going to occur, and it is very likely to involve high levels of civil upheaval.

With another lackluster field of candidates by the Republicans this election, it looks like Obama will get re-elected. If he does, he will run rampant over individual rights; he will drop his pretensions and show us how anti-white and pro-black he really is; and he will go after our guns in various deceitful ways.

His Marxist world cannot come about if the populace is armed.

@Robert if you watch and listen to the MSM like the commie networks or if you believe the Polls aren’t cooked and are true then you might say the Oblamer is going to get re-elected, but the only way he get’s re-elected is by pure Mafia style thievery, corruption, and mass voter fraud by his communist leftist operatives. Can you think of any one person (stupid enough) that didn’t vote for Obama in 2008 that is voting for him in 2012? He-double hockey sticks NO! Can you think of dozens of broke back mountain democrats and independents that voted for Obama in 2008 that can’t fathom voting for the disaster of disasters Obama in 2012?

In other words, Nobody that didn’t vote for in 2008 is voting for him in 2012 and millions who did vote for him in 2008 are done, done, gone, gone…… Oblamer is toast! Unless he/ they the commies steal the election.

Paranoia runs deep among the ignorant. Obama has done NOTHING to restrict your rights to own or use firearms. We have had multiple mass shootings including an attack on a sitting congresswoman. Despite that, Obama has not mentioned or taken ANY measure to restrict your rights. There were more gun control laws passed under BUSH and there wasn’t a race to the gun stores then. Sheer paranoia and political ignorance is the cause far more than anything Obama has actually done (that doesn’t include all the things you think he has done). Remember, shiny side OUT on the tin foil hats or they don’t work.

President Obama has been absolutely diabolical in his agenda to take guns away from Americans. How? He hasn’t even mentioned it, that’s how. He is concealing his true agenda and betrayed himself by remaining silent (like Scott Walker did about his anti-union views during his election). Once elected for a second term (and of course he will be) we all know what will happen. Rush Limbaugh knows, the NRA knows and all gun owners know what President Obama is thinking, because they have special powers to perceive his unspoken thoughts.

Let’s be honest here. If President Obama wins the general election again (assuming there is an election!), he will become absolute dictator, a communist dictator, a socialist and totalitarian dictator, and a Marxist dictator to boot. All of ‘em at once. And, once that’s done, ban arms. No, not arms like legs, but firearms. No more elections, no nothin’.

Of course a few of the brave, those who have stored food and water, and bought gold and seeds for crops to feed themselves and their families will fight back. It will be hard at first, but thank to seeds which provide valuable tomatoes, potatoes (did I spell that right?) and squash, and freeze dried food and guns, the tide will turn. The gun wielding patriots will block by block, city by city, gradually take back America! And reestablish a Democracy. Or a Republic. Or whatever we’re taking back.

      JZS
“. Rush Limbaugh knows, the NRA knows and all gun owners know what President Obama is thinking, because they have special powers to perceive his unspoken thoughts. ”

Who needs special powers when what the black dreg is doing is so obvious to everyone with half a brain?

You certainly don’t have the necessary perception to see anything objectively, because you‘re a brainwashed leftist ideologue who has had PC dogma hammered into your brain for so long you can’t possibly think in unbiased terms. It’s beyond you.

If you had been at Jonestown years ago, you would have been standing in line for your glass of kool aid, because that’s what you were programmed to do.

And, if you had been in the SS in the forties you would have ended up at Nuremberg explaining that you were jusr following orders.

And, had you been in China during Mao‘s reign you would have been in Mao’s Red Guard.

And if you had been in the sect that believed they were going to be taken to Jupiter on the mothership, you would have waited patiently for it to arrive, and when it didn’t you would have killed yourself like the other brainwashed idiots.

It doesn’t take special powers to know you either.

Robert…… Nice piece on JZS! It saved me from having to do it.
For JZS, its like not seeing the forest because of all the damn trees.

Obama‘s supporters won’t find it frightening that he stood before the Congress and asked congress to “consolidate” powers in the Executive branch.
They won‘t find as ’troubling’ comments recently by RB Ginsberg about not modeling a country on a Constitution like we have here in America. This anti-American should be removed from the court, and tried for treason!
No, supporters of the Dems will not be bothered by Sotomayors’ “wise Latino” comment.
They will find it perfectly normal for a member of congress to say “you have to pass the bill to see whats in it.”
They will not have read of the diabolical UN or the Communists who saturate its ideology.
They will not know of Agenda 21 or its plans to usurp our right to land ownership.
They will not care that H Clinton has signed us on to the UN’s ban on private ownership of guns.

No…I’m afraid anyone who intends to vote for Obama cannot be changed. I don’t plan to waste my time trying. We need to stay focused on the ideology that says our Constitution is outdated, our schools cannot hang a poster which mentions God, we cannot use our own land in perfectly legal ways, and there are words we aren’t allowed to say.

Since having and bearing arms is a RIGHT, protected by the Constitution, why are there excise taxes? Does that not infringe upon our RIGHTS?
For that matter, since obamacare is now a man-made “right”, and it is “free”,
      why aren’t armaments “free!?!?”

Don’t laugh. While it may sound sarcastic on the surface, the logic is sound.
It merely points out the hypocrisy of obama and his marxist/socialist left-winger-extremists that have usurped and overwhelmed the democrat party. (effectively silencing and disenfranchising our blue-dog-democrat/dixie-democrat fellow Americans!)

I do not think Obamma is worried one bit about it. There is a big plan, and when plan goes into effect, the majority of the flappy jawed gun owners will hand theirs over peacefully.

The key to the whole issues is city power and city water. there are an elite few that live off the grid on a piece of defendable ground. The masses live in sub division type setting. When the water and power get shut off, and mom can no longer watch Oprah, cook in the microwave, dad can not watch pro football and drink his cold beer, and the bratty kids can not play video games and watch MTV, the whole family has nothing to eat, and no where to poop, look out. It gets scarry when all the lights go out, and the welfare receivers are running from store to store and house to house, killing, stealing, raping….. The average weak minded American family will cry out “Obama Save Us”. they will turn in their guns, tell on their neighbors that have them, give up their Bibles also, and will walk or get transported to the reeducation camps.

the government will send in the troops, and will kill the welfare receivers like roaches. those that did not go to the camps and try to hide behind the couch with their 1911 .45 pistil and fight will get a rocket through the front door.

You resort to derision, because your ludicrous, bizarre rantings get hammered down your throat because they’re not only illogical they amount to hare-brained assertions which appear to come from a ****** or someone who lives in the Twilight Zone and has lost touch with reality.

You’re ineffective and you know it. So your only option is to say childish immature ramblings that, in themselves, can’t even be considered competent ridicule.

You write of being “ill-informed,” yet display a lack of knowledge and naivete that can be found only in elementary schools. You write of a detachment from the real world yet you stupidly offer airhead propositions that are not only proven failures they’re so silly only someone not living in the real world could come up with such nonsense.

You decry a lack of supporting evidence on points that are presented as common knowledge, but NEVER offer any kind of support yourself….obviously because it isn’t possible to support airhead assertions with any kind of factual references.

You resort to ridicule, because you have been crushed everytime you try logic, because you’re illogical….and ignorant to boot.

The real problem is that should Obama become a ‘Dictator’ and it comes to open revolt, the average gun-wielding Patriot won’t stand a chance against the Military and Police with their high-tech assortment of search and destroy weapons and accessories. Nothing civilian could stand up to a determined air asault followed by tank and armoured personel carrier inserted troops armoured themselves and carrying a variety of heavy duty weapons. I’d estimate that in such a firefight we civilians would take a 50 to 1 loss at best. Talk about the Tree of Liberty revivng itself on the blood of Patriots…that’s gluttony.

I got my ccp right before the last presidential election, along with my husband. My son just recently got his. My daughter is next. We are going to increase the stats on ammuntion sales between now and the next election. Our “hope” is that Obama will not be re-elected but I have a feeling we are going to need plenty of ammo for self defense if he loses. Don’t get me wrong, I pray that he loses for the sake of this country because if he wins, it’s all over for us. I can handle the self defense myself. I‘m a pretty good shot and don’t mess with my kids. That makes me crazy mama grizzly!

We do not need to register in order to speak, we do not need to register to be a minority, and we do not need to register in order to pursue happiness or liberty or freedom.

“Registration” and “CCP” is an offense against all Americans.

The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government.

The beauty of the Second Amendment is that it will not be needed until they try to take it.

What country can preserve its liberties if its rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance?

The spirit of resistance to government is so valuable on certain occasions that I wish it to be always kept alive. It will often be exercised when wrong, but better so than not to be exercised at all.

When wrongs are pressed because it is believed they will be borne, resistance becomes morality.

Were we directed from Washington when to sow and when to reap, we should soon want bread.

      Posted on February 21, 2012 at 6:44pm

Well, Darla- it isn’t the permit that will make a difference, it’s what the permit allows. And I‘m sure there are a few million who’d argue that point with you, especially women who’re standing alone in the dark of an unfamiliar- or even a familiar- location. Or women being attacked by rapists or thieves. Even men who’re being attacked, especially older men such as myself who can no longer ‘compete’ with the 20-somethings harassing or robbing and assaulting us older people- people they ‘target’ because of their vulnerability.
Of course, if you don’t want to get a permit to carry, and carry a weapon, you can always stand your ground and tell the rapist you have aids… or blow a whistle and scream ‘fire’ at the top of your lungs… or dial 9-1-1 and hope a cop arrives before any damage is done. The choice is yours, Darla- don’t make the wrong one.

Yes, it will. The State you live in still operates under States Rights, and the gun laws vary State to State. The permit makes it legal where you live. When the balloon goes up, it may be moot, but it’s better to have the gun on you and not need it than need it and not have it. The fact that you have the permit at least shows the good guys what side you are – or were- on.

      Posted on February 22, 2012 at 7:58am

You don’t need a “permit” to make your firearm “legal”, but you may need a *license* in order to carry it concealed, or in some of the less free states to carry it open carry style. Places like Texas, don’t try open carry though, they’re still in the dark ages and quite restrictive regarding firearms.

A CHL will open up ways to not get dragged to jail if you’re seen concealed carrying, assuming your state requires a CHL to conceal carry. We shouldn’t need them, and I full agree with the stupidity of requiring one, but reality is reality.

Here in Ohio, I got my CHL simply so I could “conceal” carry in my automobile, as Ohio considers any form of loaded carry in your vehicle as “concealed”. Once I get out of my car or off my motorcycle, I’m then in unlicensed Open Carry mode (gun in plain view in a holster on my belt).

Check your local laws. The reason for a CHL might be as simple as avoiding police hassle WHILE being able to have your firearm on you all the time. Once TSHTF, of course, it won‘t matter what license you have or don’t have. But being prepared means before something happens, not after.

Even in a crap economy, people are buying lots and lots of 1,000 dollar firearms- whether handgun or black rifle-lots and lots and lots. His base has to feel good about that on so many levels. The 2nd Amendment doesn’t “grant” anything. It is an enumeration of an inalienable individual right that the government is tasked to guarantee. If the 2nd Amendment didn’t exist, we’d still have the birth right to keep and bear arms that no man nor beast could remove.
