Mika Blasts Megyn: Brzezinski Calls Kelly Rude for Cutting Off Romney to Go to Commercial

MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” host Mika Brzezinski on Thursday said Fox News’ Megyn Kelly was “rude” the way she cut off GOP presidential contender Mitt Romney during an in-studio interview to go to a commercial break the day before.

Kelly talked over Romney, telling him to wrap up his comments, before the show abruptly went to a commercial.

“Hard break,“ the ”Morning Joe” panel said after a clip from the interview played played. “Hard break. What are you going to do?”

Brzezinski protested that even if Kelly was getting a signal from the control room to cut off the interview, she shouldn’t have done so.

“We don’t listen to them, right? We just stay on with an interview — if we have a presidential candidate,” she said. “Why was he cut off so terribly? That’s rude. Who would listen to that when you have a good interview going on?”

“That was rude, that’s not his fault,” Brzezinski said at the suggestion the show needed to cut to commercial. “They’re treating him terribly.”

Romney returned to Fox News for another in-studio interview Thursday morning.

    Since when are they so concerned about Romney? Who knows why Megyn Kelly cut him so fast. They could have been telling her to cut for a while. And maybe she said something more to Romney at the cut-off that also was cut off. These MSNBC people are so humble in themselves. Don’t they have something else to do?

      It is said best this way…. If Romney was a strong Candidate he would not need to run Negative adds nor would he worry about Gingrich or Santorum.       I like Romney and I support Megan. She warned him that there was a hard break. What should have happened is she should have carried him to the next section. Romney I think was able to get his point out. Everyone picks on the things he said but there was nothing controversial in his wording. He isn’t ashamed about being rich. Everyone wants Obama out so the very right will back whoever is the candidate, even Romney or Gingrich. Truth is Romney’s strategy was to start in the middle not pandering to the independents and not to the very conservative like traditional candidates do. He found out he was wrong and had to move right to gather those that supported him last time on the very right. he wasn’t insulting anyone by the strategy he was trying to gather support on both sides and those in the right media ripped him for that. If Santorum won, he would have to flip to the left to gather independents because they don’t trust him right now. Romney has lost many of the indies because he has moved more right. Its all strategy and it didn’t work, luckily he coarse corrected.

      ROMNEY IS A CONSERVATIVE AND HAS THE RECORD TO PROVE IT.

      someone needs to teach Mika what a ‘hard break’ actually is…

      they‘re called ’hard breaks‘ because you can’t just, on a whim, decide we’ll push the commercials back. They’re pre-programmed into the time-slot, so all of the affiliates and rebroadcasters can cut to their own pre-scheduled commercials seamlessly.

      when the countdown hits 0, that’s it, the computers take over and all over the glob, cut to their pre-programmed commercial schedules, and then cut back to the network once they’ve played.

      When you have a lot of breaking new coverage, like mass disasters for example, where they’re doing continuous coverage, they still have a couple hard breaks at the beginning while they’re arranging with the down-feed to suspend the schedule and go to soft breaks, which get triggered manually, prioritizing the coverage.

      This takes a decent amount of time, effort, and coordination, and can’t just be done spur of the moment.

      If Mika was the least bit competent at her job, she’d already know all this.

Soon we will all have to have permission from government on where we can go, what we can and cannot do in our everyday lives. Where is any proof anywhere of that? Do you just make up anything you want and say it here? Romney is pro business, its one of his strong points over the other two candidates. Just what makes you think he would “Shut Down” one of the most dominant forces in the business world, now and for the future? Shut yer pie hole about stuff you obviously dont know anything about. Now, If Santorum says he wants to regulate porn, that means the internet, plain and simple. I sincerely hope that doesnt mean shutting it down, but its not exactly leaving it alone is it? I wouldnt be hip on Government getting involved in regulating the internet. They would do it through taxation and the next thing you know, we’re paying 50 cents an email and $500 a month for an internet feed. and still not paying our fair share… you know where this goes…

      regardless, at least santorum pays lip service to the constitution. mitt claims he doesnt know that much about it. Soooo, yes – i would have to say mitt would be more likely to shut it down. It isnt a stretch – do you remember when george bush said ‘we have to abandon the free market in order to save it”? That is why we need someone who stands for the constitution and freedom – because bad times are coming. It seems to me that mitt will say anything and believe anything to get votes and be popular – another reason he is more likely to shut internet down.

      Actually MeekaChika is Polish and her brother was/is ambassador to Sweden.
      Meeka calling Megyn rude is like calling the kettle black. Meeka majored in rude in college.Megyn does a great job.

    No one watches MesSNBC anyway, so Mika doesn’t really “worry” about hard breaks, they do what they want! Real cable channels with real rules and advertisers have to abide by the rules unless there is a news item that to the seriousness to override it.

    But, what would Mika know about the real world?!

There is an art to having concise, well prepared responses to the broad spectrum of questions that might be posed in an interview. Of course, Obama would have said, ” Uh, we uh, seem to, uh, have, uh a lot , uh do. (sigh) And now, uh, we need, uh, to make sure, uh that, everyone, uh, pays, uh uh, their fair share, (grin)
