Update: After Military Stores Will Not Sell Soulja Boy’s Hate, Rapper Caves, Scraps Offensive Track

Yesterday we reported on the controversial rap song from Soulja Boy that insulted both the American military and the FBI, as well as the apology that followed.

Today we learned from TMZ that the Military Exchanges will not be carrying Soulja Boy’s new album, as long as it contains the offensive song.

Soulja Boys Hate Not Welcome In Military Stores

From the TMZ story:

LTC Thomas Shrader from the Army and Air Force Exchange Service — an agency run by the USDOD — tells TMZ, Soulja’s “Respect My Hustle” will have no place on the shelves of its 3,100 facilities …

Perhaps Soulja Boy’s record label realized that a quick apology is not going to make this problem go away. Earlier today the rapper’s management confirmed that the song will NOT be included on his upcoming album.

The official statement from Debbie Coda of Soulja’s team claims that the song was never intended to be released, not on the internet or via the new album.

“Let’s Be Real” was hastily and foolishly posted to the Internet – and was never approved for any album, including his upcoming Respect My Hustle.”

More news as it happens.

Wasn’t ever meant for release! In fact – Soulja Boy was ‘sleep rapping’ when this track was recorded and then it was ‘sleep uploaded’ to the internet. Soulja boy woke up and was SHOCKED at what he had done in his sleep! SHOCKED I tell you!

Do not be fooled – walk into the music section of any military PX, and it is loaded down with the heathen rap filth. Much of it being anti american, anti police, violent to wome…. Nothing new, been this way for years.

Side note, but interesting. go into the main PX at Fort Benning, Georgia, and head over by the jewelry counter. There are about three full sized glass casses (six feet tall),. These cases hold only African American statues, and art, from statues of Obama, to African warriors…. and such art. There is no case with white, asian, or hispanic art, statues, and similar stuff. While I saw much in the PX to honor Obama, have never seen a single shirt, statue, or any other type article for a President Bush, Reagan…. I wonder why Obama is the only president that gets stuff sold in military stores to honor himself?

      @smithclar3nc3
What people do not realize, is that Mr Soulja Boy’s rap music is the norm, it is not out of the ordinary for rap..

If we apply the same standard across the board, the military stores wil have to scrap just about everything within “rap” music.

People are up in arms about him speaking ill of the military. What about speaking ill of women? Bitches and hoes aint exactly nice now. What about police? Google the lyrics of top rap tunes, and see what they say about police.

This kid is one of many. The entire industry is built on being offensive and anti authority, anti women, anti white.

Be careful about “signing” any e-petitions against that (c)rap “artist”.
I did one, and was involuntarily subscribed to a LEFTIST organization’s email list.

I DONT know nor do I care what he actually said. I dont listen to rap, but if he insulted the military, his so called music, has NO place on military bases. Sorry doesnt cut it.. he didnt mis-speak as politicians love to claim. WORDS matter. WORDS have consequences. Freedom of speech, thats right Soulja Girl, its NOT free… those soldiers fight for your right to that freedom.

The best way to end the problem is to encourage this guy to find another line of work. The last thing we need is another gangsta rapper insulting our troops.

The stores should continue to not sell it. Once he flapped his gums, the words can’t be called back and usually, the first response is what you believe.

ya know.I love the military (ex sailor) if sb had came out and said he hated the military etc, then i prob would say let the song stay. and atleast have some respect for the boy. but what ****** me off the most is these half witted celebs talking about crap that they dont know abot just to be contraversial, then when they findout that its gonna cost them, they retract. just like milla kunis, or darryl hanna, mat damon or the plethera of other celebs. its not about conserv or lib per say, but more along the lines of at least have the courage of your conviction. bill maher, danny glover, thoes are some idiots, but atleast they are proud of their idiocy

Most of the rappers are a complete joke. Strange names, strange personas, strange lyrics, very little if any musical ability just beats repeated and simplistic note structures. Compare that to someone like Zappa who though he had unusual lyrics the music was genuinely challenging to play for even the best musicians. And many rock groups including heavy metal include music that is complex and challenging. Rap music, like few other aspects of modern society really highlights the depths to which popular culture has fallen. What absolute drech. Hey, everyone can appreciate a few of Snoop Doggs songs, but it is just a fact that 99% of rap and hip hop is unlistenable trash.

GOOD! This guy is not the most talented rappers by far. His raps could have been written by a 4th or 5th grader. I must admit I haven’t heard this military song, but it‘s safe to assume it can’t be very intelligent. He probably only apologized because his managers or agent suggested it. Our servicemen/women deserve nothing but respect. Most of them are around his age, volunteering to be shipped off(to do our countries’ bidding) while he’s singin dumb ass songs making 100X the average military salary. Respect the troops please.

Who the fock is this guy?

It is amazing how singers can sell very little “albums” and still make money or remain relevant. The gold standard for album sales seems to be Garth Brooks (really!). I cant stand country music so it is hard for me to admit this fact. How can it be that a guy from Oklahoma can sell more than any other artist. Compared to Garth this guy is a turd. Sir Garth, I commend you.You must be a great entertainer.

Whether or not it was meant to be publicized or not is not the point. The point is what this guy obviously thinks of our brave defenders. I hope America shows it’s patriotism by not buying a single thing this guy is selling. May his career rot in hell.

I don’t care if he includes that song on ANY album or not. That song shows EXACTLY what he thinks of the military and our brave soldiers as well as all the law enforcement personnel that is still honest and working to stop evil and lawlessness from breaking out. I would not EVER sell any of his noise on military bases and if I owned the largest music store in the world, I would not sell his garbage in my stores. Lucky for him, I am not the owner of the largest music store (or any music store) so he has a chance for that garbage that he calls music to be sold there. This I consider a shame upon the music stores or anywhere real music is sold.
