Minn. High School Apologizes for ‘Incest’ Prank Involving Blindfolded Kids Kissing Their Parents

Rosemount High School Kiss Prank Leads to Apology

When we watched this video in the Blaze newsroom, several audible gasps rang out and numerous hands covered mouths.

The video shows several Minnesota high school students at a pep rally standing blindfolded. The students are then presented with a kissing partner. What ensues is some passionate lip-locking. It was meant to be a prank. The prank part? The kids didn’t know it, but they were actually kissing their parents.

Yes, you read that right.

Citypages.com explains more about what happened at Rosemount High School:

These poor kids reasonably assumed they were about make out with their classmates. But the assembly organizers had something else in mind: their parents.

Footage of the assembly shows a scene that would make even Sigmund Freud cringe. Dads kissing daughters. Mothers kissing sons.

And these are not just innocent pecks on the lips. The parents are intimately lip-locking their children for several seconds. One even progresses to rolling around on the gym floor. In another instance, a mother moves her son‘s hand south so he’s grasping her butt.

After the make-out session comes to an end, the still-blindfolded kids are asked to guess who kissed them.

Here’s the video, which Gawker has dubbed the “incest” prank, that’s almost unbelievable:

Now, the school is apologizing.

“As principal I am responsible for everything that happens in the school so, ultimately, I am the person that needs to answer for this,” school principal John Wollersheim told KARE-TV on Wednesday.

“I know there are people who are upset about what they have seen and as principal I am responsible for what happens here. For all the people who are offended, they are genuinely offended, and I owe them an apology,” Wollersheim said.

Still, he says the video is only a snippet of what went on and doesn’t tell the whole story.

“A lesson to be learned is that what you see on the internet, sometimes you just see portions of what really happened and it can lead you to think a certain way,” he said:

Despite the apology, Gawker still is a little grossed out:

One YouTube commenter who claims to be a student at Rosemount says that it’s a “tradition that only happens every six years or something,” which makes it sound like an ancient pagan Norse ritual brought to America by sick incestuous vikings.

What do you think? Harmless, funny prank or disgusting joke?

We’ve watched mothers steadily become competitors with their own daughters for the same mates. Television enthrones those kinds of standards with parents dating future boyfriends/girlfriends of their children to “assess” their worthiness. This is another step in that deterioration of the sacred and essential standards of behaviour of the parent. I put this squarely on the shoulders of liberalism and leftism. They have made no mystery of the fact that deteriorating the family unit is part of their agenda. You can’t fire the parents but you sure as heck can fire the principal.

Am I missing something? I have no desire to watch the video, but from the still pictures it looks like the parents weren’t blindfolded, which means they knew they were making out with their children. That is repulsive and there is nothing remotely funny about this stunt.

So this is what our public schools have devolved into… can’t mention the name of Jesus, but you can french kiss your kids in front of the entire student body. Now that’s progress.

I am shocked that a Mom or Dad invited to participate in this ‘joke’ wouldn’t ask the school what the heck they are thinking! I cannot believe that a high school pep rally would be sanctioning any of the public displays of affection. This whole thing is wrong.

Has anyone actually thought that this event might have a message on top of being just funny as heck?
Guess not you all want to demonize everything you see, stand on your high horse and look down… shame on all of you, all of you.. i swear compare my life and misdeeds to yours and mine shall be smaller, yet we all fall short we are all wrong.
There are pretty good leasons from this event.. ie it can be a lesson to teach students to THINK FOR THEMSELVES. (don’t kiss people because other people tell you to?.. further just because someone in power condones an action doesn’t make that action right or smart). It also is kinda funny with that age group who are so secretive from their parents relating to their intimate lives; that right there is what could be called a twist on a rude awakening; with the offspring being dynamic learning a lesson (otherwise stated being caught more than red handed by your parents).
Or it might just be kinda sick, but still one of the most humorous thing i have ever seen.

And even if the parents were blindfolded, don’t you think they should have asked some SERIOUS questions on what this exercise is about? Unbelievable.

Our society is changing for the worse with each passing generation since the Great Depression. My grandparents were polite, caring, hard working (I could go on and on), my parents… they were obsessed with money and keeping up appearances, but they were still hard working and they believed in the traditional family (unfortunately they were the first generation to stop going to church in my family.) My siblings are selfish and ignorant parents who abandoned their children and forced my parents raise them. It keeps getting worse.
Did you see the news report about doctors? A young girl died having her wisdom teeth removed because the dentist didn’t give her enough oxygen while under anesthesia and took too long to try and resuscitate her. Another study showed that young doctors and nurses (most of them in their mid-20‘s to early 30’s) have been guilty of making personal phone calls during dangerous surgical operations.
Our schools and parents have become increasingly irresponsible and ignorant. I believe most of the blame goes towards Progressivism, multiculturalism, and the lack of morality likely caused by the the reduced role of Christianity and family values being replaced with narcissism. THIS FROM AN ATHEIST! Sunday, I am going to look for a (NON-POLITICAL) church and see if one is willing take an atheist, but is a passionate believer of the Christian philosophy. I’ve had more than enough of this REGRESSIVIE-ISM!

The SO CALLED greatest generation is a pile of worthless lies. Progressives began calling it that because it was at the point of FDR when all of their attacks against the US Constitution and the moral clarity of the Nation entered full swing.

Roosevelt intentionally perpetuated the second depression (Wilsons was the first) as a top down assault against Americans. It was the platform to seize control of Banking, and why rather than hopping on the fascist bandwagon turned Americans to a more pro Soviet Union (communist) partnership. Conquest was the only reason America entered either of the World Wars, and it was orchestrated by progressives/communists.

There might be a GOP or two elected here or there, but it’s such a solidly blue state that you can practically launch and sail a boat on it.

Nudge nudge… it’s harmless….it’s just a joke….. it’s a harmless joke ….ha ha ha ha ha I wonder how many people were actually embarrassed but chose not to speak up. What’s that quote? We used to do a similar skit with our youth group but we did it in such a way that the kids were not actually kissing their moms. We put up a sheet with “lip” holes cut out. A boy kissed each of the 4 girls behind the screen and then had to choose who he thought was the best kisser. Hiding behind the screen was his mom and when he picked the girl he thought was the best kisser we quickly switched the girl for his mom. The girl would scurry out a door and be out of sight when we dropped the screen. Funny and not incestuous. After a minute we‘d bring the girl back out to assure him he didn’t actually kiss his mom. This sounds like someone half remembered this prank and got it seriously wrong it the execution.

What the heck kind of youth group did you attend? Hopefully not a church one. Because at church I expect my kids to be taught how to live the Christian life, not how to decide who kisses better. I know things go on at youth groups (like kids in the closet making out and such) but to have it sanctioned by the leaders? Messed up.

Accepted responsibility…sort of. He attempted a pathetic defense with these remarks:

“Still, he says the video is only a snippet of what went on and doesn’t tell the whole story.”

he did not take responsibility or accountability, if he had he would have fired those involved, and resigned! This is a high school, not a college. NO adult should be kissing any student. No adult should have followed through when they found out they WOULD be kissing students so the parents are to blame as well….it’s sick all round.

We are doomed, as a society. If we ever needed proof (as if there wasn’t enough)…we have officially arrived.

Once a society becomes so infiltrated with sexual perversion that it becomes pedestrian and commonplace, it spells the end for that society. Just as ancient Rome and Greece were once great civilizations…

Of course people will say these kids are emotionally ruined which is BS. Grow up and laugh about it.

Do they even mention what was the educational value of such a stunt? Schools today engage in all kinds of demented social experiments on our children. Mine had to suffer through a full day of Cross dressing day at their middle school. I called the district and they said did you take this up with the principal first, so I did. She later got a DUI and was fired. But she had no explanation and neither did the school activities teacher who over sees the student body who decided this was something they as a student body wanted to do. The explanation I got from a grown religious man who was the teacher was that it was their decision. I only asked what was the educational value for allowing it to be done at school and I got no answer because there simply was not one to give. Again its stuff like this the schools engage in because their demented and bored with the straight forward we gotta teach math and english. They want to have more of an impact than that. So this is what happens.

    How bizarre.

Our high school did something similar, however, the moms were switched around so they were not kissing their own sons (this was for a football rally). At the time it was funny, but looking back I’m thinking “Man, some moms then, would be in jail today on an array of charges, as well as the school officials”. That said, we’re talking high school seniors here (at my school), not 8 year olds, so it kind of merits a shurg to weird memories from me.
