Miss Universe Canada Pageant May Now Allow Transgendered Woman to Compete

(The Blaze/AP) — The Miss Universe Organization announced Monday that it might reverse an earlier decision and allow a transgender woman to enter the Miss Universe Canada pageant.
Jenna Talackova, 23, was born male, leading organizers to disqualify her last month as a finalist in the 61st Miss Universe Canada pageant in May.

The rules of the contest run by Donald Trump’s New York City-based organization say entrants must be “naturally born” females. The Vancouver woman underwent a sex change four years ago.
As The Blaze already reported, Talackova has claimed that she knew she was a woman at the age of four and that she began hormone therapy at 14. ”I regard myself as a woman with a history,” she said. Here’s a 2010 video during which she describes her experience (around 8:10):
Shortly after Talackova announced a news conference in Los Angeles with high-profile lawyer Gloria Allred for Tuesday, the New York-based Miss Universe Organization said in a statement on the Miss Universe Canada website that Talackova can compete “provided she meets the legal gender recognition requirements of Canada, and the standards established by other international competitions.”
The statement did not elaborate and messages seeking clarification from Miss Universe organizers were not immediately returned. Here’s the full text of the statement:
The Miss Universe Organization will allow Jenna Talackova to compete in the 2012 Miss Universe Canada pageant provided she meets the legal gender recognition requirements of Canada, and the standards established by other international competitions”.
The 61st annual Miss Universe Canada Pageant will be held at the St. Lawrence Centre for the Arts (Bluma Appel Theatre) in Toronto. Sixty-five delegates from across Canada will be in Toronto from May 11th to May 20th and will compete for the title of Miss Universe Canada 2012, awarded on Saturday, May 19th, 2012. The reigning Miss Universe Canada, Chelsae Durocher will assist in crowning her successor before a live audience.

Vancouver constitutional lawyer Joe Arvay, who is on Talackova’s legal team, told The Associated Press that Miss Universe Canada’s latest statement about Canadian legal gender recognition requirements is “incomprehensible.”
“I have no idea what they’re talking about,” he said.
Arvay said the pageant requirement for “natural born” females does not comply with Canadian human rights legislation and that a complaint will be filed with the Ontario Human Rights Commission.
“In the absence of clarity, we will be proceeding,” Arvay said. “At the present time, it’s gobbledygook.”
Allred’s office said its news conference is still proceeding as planned.
The disqualification won Talackova widespread sympathy and raised the question of whether the pageant has the right to decide who is female.

Connie McNaughton, Miss World Canada in 1984 and first runner-up for the world crown, had called the decision outdated and discriminatory. Professor Patrizia Gentile of Ottawa’s Carleton University, who did a dissertation on beauty pageants, equated the ban with the exclusion of blacks and Jews from pageants in earlier times.
From the conservative side of Canadian society, Gwen Landolt, national vice president of REAL Women of Canada, said the pageant was simply being realistic in barring Talackova.

This is just getting dumber and dumber. If I wanted to say I am a tree or a car or a bus because I identify myself as a tree does that make me a tree? Of course not, so what is the difference? I say none, I say that since this man has issues mentally that would cause him to hide from himself and pretend to be a woman does not mean people have to accpept his delusion of self to be our reality. Too much of this acceptance thing is getting out of control. I accept that he is pretending to be a woman, I get that, but to be allowed to enter womens restrooms or enter into beauty pagents is going beyond acceptance. This drag queen needs to enter Drag Queen Pagents, not womens beauty pagents. He is making a mockery of women everywhere and using his personal feelings of self loathing to facilitate that mockery. I do not care what gender you want to be, that is your choice, but when you force your choice into my reality then we have a problem. Nuf Said.

This gives the transvestites an unfair advantage. The modeling industry has been doing this to women for a long time now. To the industry, the female physique is supposed to look lean like a man. No curves and no softness, which is of course the opposite of what mother nature planned for women. These transvestites would not have to work out, nor be on an extreme diet like the natural born woman would have to be to compete. The modeling industry is starting to use transvestites to accomplish this “look” and gullible women everywhere do extreme things to live up to this sham. Men, let your women know they are okay with curves and soft spots. Women shun these advertisers and express your disgust at this deception, our daughters are worth it.

It looks like two round balls coming out where the rest behind it is flat….bazaar and not even close to natural looking. There are better contestants. She will be eliminated staight off even if she had a better plastic surgery job.

All the women who win their state and local pagents win asked should turn down all offers from the miss universe orginazation. I still feel she has an unfair advantage because of all the plastic surgery she has had that would be more than an average participant would have. She also needs a push-up bra to raise those puppies. If that top was riding lower we’d have a major wardrobe malfunction.

The fact of the matter is that god will puinish the people who do not follow his laws and tha the society will be wiped off the face of the earth. The bible is full of references to this affect. People need to read scipture as all the events that happened in ther are true and proven. and Sodom and Gomorroh is only the most famous example of that but there are many other references to this as well. We have the largest volcano in the middle of Yellowstone park that can explode and if it did would pretty much wipe out our country. That event would be a massive reset button for our society. It has happened before it will happen again. If this madness doesn’t end and we do not stand up and clean up the world of this degenerousy and of this scourge, the Lord will do it for us…one day if we don’t act.

Yup, that is right and I have carried three beautiful children into this world. But with what you said, I am a man, because I have a Y. Well knock me down with a stick it is nice to know that I will go down in history for being the first MAN to give birth to children. Thanks for letting me know that piece of information.
As for you other people that think if you can’t become pregnet because GOD did not give you the equipment to do so, or that you had to have them removed to save your life, then you really need to get a life. My husband had to have his testicles removed because of cancer. We can not have sex with out some enhancements to his person, but he is not a DRAG QUEEN or anything other than the man I married and the father to our children. I also don’t think any of you had any problem looking at her until you found out she was born with a pickle. Just be careful of what you say to whom, the man/woman you talk to may be a “Freak” and that person might be your Boss. Or maybe your Boss likes to prance around in the opposite gender’s clothes.
Also, My children have had a teacher that was a “Freak” that I would put up against teachers of any teaching level. SHE goes out of HER way to make her students feel that they are smart and can do anything THEY want to do and not one parent complains because she is that good. Get a Life Idiots,lo

As to why its called the same thing as “regular” marriage is because ‘separate but equal’ was struck down quite a while back. If gays can join in a legal arrangement that confers the exact same benefits as a different arrangement, there is no reason to call them separate things because to do so inherently implies inequality. I believe the term “marriage” should replaced with ‘civil unions’ for all parties as far as the law is concerned. It’s a religious institution anyway.
