Mitt Romney and Barack Obama Release Competing Campaign Videos for Mother’s Day

With both Mitt Romney and Barack Obama rapidly approaching full campaign mode, both parties have released Mother’s Day videos on YouTube to praise the women in their lives.

Mitt Romney’s video, reportedly produced by his sons, shows each of the boys recalling their favorite memories with their mother, Ann:

“To celebrate Mother’s Day, Tagg, Matt, Josh, Ben, and Craig Romney decided to pay tribute to their mom by sharing some of their favorite memories of her. Happy Mother’s Day!” it said on Mitt Romney’s site.

A campaign press release quotes Mrs. Romney saying, “After watching this short video that my sons put together for me for Mother’s Day, you’ll see how my rowdy little boys turned into sweet, wonderful men.”

Meanwhile, in Barack Obama‘s Mother’s Day video, the president’s mother, grandmother, and wife are each given their respective turns:

In his video, Obama spoke of the role that “strong responsible women” played in his life, and that of his daughters.  He also spoke of the Lilly Ledbetter Act, which expands workers’ rights to sue in payroll discrimination cases.

“She was somebody who recognized that those of us who have some talents, who have been given opportunities, that we gotta give something back, and I’ll always be indebted to her for that,” Obama said of his mother.

But is either video likely to sway voters?  Which do you think is better?

    He lies so bad not a word he said was true. He‘s in love with himself and that’s it…that‘s all he knows that’s the way he is…he’s a sick sick man. I could hardly make it through the video.

    Its a shame due to Planned Parent hood that many kids won’t come into this world to say “Happy Mothers Day” I guess Obama forgot to mention that he supports making sure that thousands of kids will never have that chance due to his support of Sanger’s agenda to kill the “unwanted” and the “blacks” – amazing how the left loves to say that they are pro-black and yet are fully behind an entity who was created to kill black babies.

    Meanwhile there are thousands of couples… hey, some are even gay, who would do anything for their own baby… yet adoption always seems the last resort for Planned Parenthood and the left…. abortion is always #1 on the list of choices, everything else is a sacrifice…. and everyone should pay for those abortions, especially those who are morally and religiously against it… .thank you Obama and thank you Planned Parenthood…. destroying future mother‘s day’s for thousands of never to be born babies, fully funded and supported by the left.

    I analysed the two videos with respect to “self references” to see if either candidate is using Mothers Day ethos to gain “cheap” favor with the electorate. Here are the results with a brief explanation afterwards.

    Mitt Romney: Self References – 0
    Barack Obama: Self References – 8

    Now to be fair, President Obama’s message was told first person so I filtered out the references of “my mom”, “my grandmother”, and “my wife.” Even though those references are still referring to President Obama, his video was in first person, whereas Mitt Romney’s video was done by his sons. We could expect Mitt Romney to use similar references of “my mom” etc. if he were doing his video first person.
    So the findings are that President Obama referred to himself in a non-mother-reference-way 8 times in 2 minutes and 35 seconds, white Mitt Romney (his sons) referred to himself 0 times (not including in either case the candidates websites at the end of the video) in 3 minutes 58 seconds.
    I believe President Obama is using this as a cheap opportunity to continue to force feed us his agenda whereas Mitt Romney and his sons used this as an opportunity to sincerely appreciate their mother and wife.

    P.S.
    Interestingly, references from President Obama’s video to “my wife” “my grandmother” and “my mother” (and their variants) combined totaled 4.

    Are we ready to double vote and triple vote like they did in Nevada and California? ARe we ready to steal away Obamas power the same way he stole the last election.? Oh no one noticed did they? Yep it was unions double votes, Seiu, acorn, black panthers, and all those people in jail. Florida found 200,000 questionble voters………………wow and some states let Obama win by a few hundred and Harry Reid, and Governor Brown………………………………..most of the votes they found are illegals…………..non citizens……………gee wonder why Obama wants them to get a chance to vote.

    The video at the link below shows how the Establishment Media is misleading the public on the REAL delegate count. The video is aimed at CNN, but you can replace CNN with Fox News, The Blaze, or just about any other “news” outlet, and it would be EXACTLY the same. Show some INTEGRITY and report the REAL FACTS!

    Why don’t they release competing BIRTH CERTIFICATES, SELECTIVE SERVICE CARDS, SOCIAL SECURITY CARDS, HIGH SCHOOL AND COLLEGE RECORDS, PASS PORT RECORDS, ETC.? Now that would be NEWS! Romney should lay them all out on the table and then ask for Obama to release his.

    So obama, whom it has been revealed is gay, released a video promoting his sham marriage to a “strong responsible” woman? I feel sorry for obama’s children – the children always suffer the most in these situations. Will obama and his woman be separating, or will they continue to live in a loveless marriage?

    By far, President Obama, who not only paid tribute to his Mother and Grandmother, but to his beautiful wife and our First Lady Michelle, he did so in such a personal, sincere, beautiful and heartfelt manner. It was not like the political mumbo-jumbo which Romney did.
