Mitt Romney Reportedly Considering Guest Spot on ‘Saturday Night Live’

Mitt Romney is mulling over an offer for a guest spot on “Saturday Night Live,” according to the New York Times.
“He was funny on Letterman, giving the Top Ten list,” longtime SNL writer Jim Downey told the newspaper.
Executive producer Lorne Michaels reportedly extended the offer, though it’s not clear whether Romney would make a cameo appearance or guest host a full episode.
According to the Times, the show‘s staff has acknowledged that it’s been difficult to top its 2008 election lampooning, particularly with Tina Fey’s hit impression of vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin.
“Sarah Palin was a once-in-a-lifetime situation,” head writer Seth Meyers said. “She was incredibly magnetic and came with a built-in catchphrase.”
As the Hollywood Reporter points out, a Romney appearance wouldn’t be too surprising as nearly every presidential candidate since the 2000 election has appeared on the show.
Jason Sudeikis has been SNL’s go-to actor for playing Romney this season.

Posted on April 15, 2012 at 9:59amRomney is quickly “pivoting” into play-nice, progressive mode. Romney is sorely mistaken if he thinks that repeating the mistakes of McCain 2008 (exactly what obama is hoping for) is a winning formula.

Posted on April 15, 2012 at 5:36pmSince it appears we are stuck with him, I hope he will have the good sense to choose an attack dog for the VP slot, like Col. West, but sadly, I don’t think he has the cajones for it. He should choose someone with a strong no nonsense presence that can take the fight to Obama with some teeth showing, otherwise, I fear we are doomed. What I fear most is that Romney will not go after Obama with the same gusto that he did Gingrich and Santorum. With Obama, no half truths are necessary.

There are plenty of others in California who are already going to vote for him, including some Catholics, but if he keeps messing around, people are just not going to vote for a person who is falling into that trap. It does not make sense to play with the enemy. They are the ones who are serious and using him. If he is needs to be president, but there is nothing else.
