Mitt Romney Wins Maryland Primary

WASHINGTON (AP/The Blaze) — Mitt Romney has added to his big lead in the race for convention delegates by winning the Maryland Republican presidential primary.

Romney won at least 28 delegates in Maryland, with nine left to be awarded.

Voters also went to the polls Tuesday in the District of Columbia, with 16 delegates at stake, and Wisconsin, where 42 delegates were up for grabs.

Romney leads the race for delegates with 600. He is on pace to reach the number of delegates needed to clinch the nomination – 1,144 – in early June.

Romney’s closest rival, Rick Santorum, has 272 delegates. Santorum would need 76 percent of the remaining delegates to clinch the nomination before the party’s national convention – a nearly impossible task because most states award delegates proportionally.

Guess again…he was far from a Conservative. He grew government only on a steam engine pace instead of the bullet train Obama is doing. Romney will be no better, he’s the freight train pace.

And by the way B.H.C.M.M.S, do some homework. Rubio is not eligible to be VP, since his parents were not US citizens at his time of birth (http://www.wnd.com/2011/05/297485/). Though I still can’t figure out why nobody has challenged Obama on this.

AND I CAN TELL YOU RIGHT NOW, it looks like the vast majority of TEA party folks will not vote for the self described “moderate” and “progressive”. It looks like a repeat of 2008. With me busily wearing my Newt T-shirt, being a Newtie Cutie, and with my astonishing actions during the Chaos last year. Am I a heroine? Or am I an insulting pain in the — I‘m somone who can’t manage to get banned.

I’m absolutely convinced now that if we nominate Romney, we lose by about 10 points, if not more. Because voters can recognize a pathological liar. And they‘d prefer the liar they already have to the astonishing horrifying liar they don’t have yet. Which they will never vote in.

Why is the Republican party trying to commit suicide? Why are so many of the Republican leaders and media stars flat out of their minds, while the Tea Party people all around you are so life-loving?

I find it funny that you would call him Saint Paul. What you don’t realize is that people like my self do not believe him to be a saint nor the end to all our problems. He started a movement. He took me out of my apathy that I had been suffering since I was old enough to care about politics. I was a hard core republican, I voted for Bush both times. I joined the military thinking how badly I wanted to kill as many Muslim terrorist I could put my sights on.

Then I heard this politician that wasn’t afraid to just tell it how it is. I then started my own research. I studied hard on the topic from a multitude of sources. He awoke the true freedom loving part of me, the part of me that was being shielded by the other side that believed anyone that had an R next to their names.

No, it’s not about the man. It’s about the message. That message is for TRUE freedom in our life time. It’s about small government. It’s about leaving this country for my kids better than how I received it.

You can mock those of us who support Ron Paul all you want. You can mock Ron Paul himself.

I find it even more hilarious that the above poster keeps touting off that the Constitution is preventing Paul from winning and that somehow he, as long as his other like minded supporters, IS the Constitution. I assume you are a Romney supporter. When has he ever defended the Constitution?

When has any of the other GOP candidates defended the Constitution, to the letter. Never.

One guy signed legislation creating the California Air Resources Board, leading to the nation’s first tailpipe emissions standards. Exacto mundo. Why do you think Obama won in 2008? One reason was, many Conservatives and Independents would NOT ever vote for McLame. With Gingrich and Santorum, you’ll most likely get most or nearly all Conservatives to come out and vote, but you will NOT get independents or disgruntled democrats to vote for them. They will either stay home, or vote third party. That’s another reason why Obama won. Hate to say it, but it looks like a replay of 2008, irregardless of who is the nominee. The reason the House is Majority Republican today is because of the TEA party, NOT because of the GOP establishment.

@therealconservative That topic has already been discussed Ad nauseam. To keep it short, I’ll just say this. All of those requests were for funds ALREADY in process for use. He did NOT increase spending, incur debt, or create more credit. In other words, whether the money was granted or not to his district, it would have been spent irregardless, albeit, by the federal Government or Executive Branch, without any transparency, e.g. Obama’s administration gets a big fat check to spend that money however they wish. These were not requests begging for money, or credit, these were earmarks designating were these funds should go to. SO NO, he’s not a big spender. To see a real spender, e.g. someone asking for money that has NOT ALREADY been allocated for use, watch this guy:

      Commentary from the liberterrain…
George Soros is quoted in a blog at the UK’s Daily Mail as saying that if the US presidential election comes down to Obama and Romney, “there isn’t all that much difference except for the crowd that they bring with them.”
The whole point of an engineered Obama/Romney runoff is to guarantee business as usual for the billionaire ruling classes of Oz who run both parties from behind the Wizard’s curtain.
Romney is the white Obama. An election between the two would constitute little more than a coin flip; whichever side comes up it’s still the same old debased copper/silver sandwich coin.

It’s why status quo big government Republicans and their running-dog statist Democrats keep pushing “electability” as the most important quality for a candidate.
“Electability” means, “It‘s okay to change the administration but don’t change the status quo.”
The biggest status quo changer would be Ron Paul, of course. It’s why the George Soros ruling class types from both sides of the left/right heads/tails Republican/Democrat wings of the

It‘s a curious defamation to libertarians who don’t play the thoroughly discredited left/right political game. Since it‘s the long line of Republican and Democrat mainstream political machines that brought us to the brink of today’s welfare-warfare-police state-bankruptcy abyss in the first place, a label of “out of the mainstream” should be seen by rational voters as the highest quality a president could bring to the table.
People who fear and loath libertarianism actually fear change of any kind. Their lips are permanently attached to the breeding sow that is coerced government welfarism and they shudder at the prospect of anything that would detach their lips from the teat.
Since Soros agrees with Warren Buffett that billionaires should be taxed more, he should hand over his fortune to the national treasury and watch it disappear down the toilet hole along with everyone else’s money.
Then maybe he’d finally get a clue.

It is frightening to decriminalize things at a Federal level and turn them back to the states..that places more responsibility on us..but do we sell ourselves into slavery and lose our own freedoms? Naturally the common people don’t want war; neither in Russia, nor in England, nor in America, nor in Germany. That is understood. I’m afraid Romney will have a hard time beating 0bama. Too many conservatives will stay home rather than vote for a moderate.

Why would I do that? I’m not a Paulie.

Watch this short video and let Romney tell you what he is. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pu0zQRUCDlM

I know your not a Paul “Follower”. But we have a hard choice to make, we either support the nominee or let Obama complete his transformation.

Will Romney be able to get the 1144 delegates. That is the question. Too late now for another to amount the needed delegates. If Romney doe not, it is up for grabs in the second round of delegate voting. Ron Paul, Rick Santorum, or even someone else could have a chance then. Likely it just helps shield Romney from the rath of Axlerod and Obama in the meanwhile.

Yah, I think you are right on this. We need to get the Congress even more Constitutionaly Conservative. and work on your local and state Governments too. We made amazing gains in 2010 in the local and state offices. I am seeing things happen never seen in the last 100 years hear. Many of the local elected officials around here are to the right of Glenn and go further down his road of ideas. It’s amazing. Lets add to this. Romney can come along too. I get the feeling he is learning too about the need to go back to original intent.
