MN Rep: Budget is ‘Just a Piece of Paper’ That is ‘Totally Non-Binding’

Earlier Monday we brought you video of Rep. Betty McCollum’s (D-MN) refusal to say “under God” while leading the Pledge of Allegiance on the House floor. Now her opponent, Teresa Collett, has released a video showing McCollum’s view regarding the federal budget:
The blog “MNCD4 Needs Change” sent another video of a McCollum claim from 2004. Then she dismissed the idea of voter ID cards since, in her mind, voter fraud isn’t a problem. She almost got laughed out of the room:
Why all the laughter? It may be because the constituents are willing to admit what McCollum isn’t. From local blogger Derek at “MNCD4 Needs Change“:
There is so much concern with voter fraud in Betty’s district that Rep. Darrell Issa sent Secretary of State Mark Ritchie a letter regarding voter fraud in Betty’s district.
Interestingly this took place in the 2008 election cycle, and what was revealed in [a June 2010] report done by Minnesota Majority? Voter fraud in Minnesota; namely in Betty’s district.
In the past, McCollum has voted against de-funding ACORN, the get-out-the-vote organization exposed for encouraging voter fraud. In fact, after voting against a bill to strip ACORN of federal funds she introduced her own legislation mocking those who did, even stealing the acronym for the “Against Corporations Organizing to Ripoff the Nation Act.”
“We’re pleased to see that Congresswoman McCollum, who has voted at least twice this year to protect ACORN’s access to taxpayer funds, has a newfound interest in protecting taxpayers,” said a spokeswoman for Rep. Michelle Bachmann at the time.
McCollum’s bill is currently stuck in committee.

Posted on October 26, 2010 at 3:48pmSo this guy sees the budget in the same way most Democrats see the Constitution – as a non-binding document. One more reason to vote out the Dems a week from today. We need to beseige the heavens with a tsunami of prayer that all public officials who go against God’s will be voted out of office, all those who don’t value life and morality.

Posted on October 26, 2010 at 10:40amIs it something in the water? Minnesota seems to have a bunch of very strange folks who have run, or are running, for office, all the way back to Hubert Humphrey! Must be the water. And didn’t the old turn-of-the-century socialist movement have atrong foothold in that God-forsaken state? I seem to remember something about a Farmers Socialist Party (not sure of the name) taking a firm foothold in MN during the early Twentieth Century. Not sure, but I think so.

Posted on October 25, 2010 at 10:09pmIf it’s just a piece of paper & totally non-binding, why couldn’t you write one & get it passed before going home to campaign? It should have been easy if accuracy doesn’t matter. REALLY. Who accepts that as an answer from their congressional representative?! What a disgrace.

Posted on October 25, 2010 at 9:31pmThe Constitution and the Budget are only papers to the Democrats. To real Americans they are binding us to the debts that we owe and pay. Only Democrats will throw them under the bus if it serves their purpose. Now we have a chance to throw them under the bus.

Posted on October 26, 2010 at 11:29amI’ll not worried that you caught some voter fraud. Why? Our buddies/fellow travelers in the MSM have been ORDERED NOT to have any national discussion on voter fraud. Don’t believe me? Do a google search. WWe squelhed pretty well the Collier Brothers book exposing the fraud.
Once in a while a local paper has an article but we make sure that editor finds another job… maybe.
We made sure Bush JR the NeoCon was elected in 2000. He was more moldable than the tree hugger. But, we made sure the tree hugger got great press and helped make him rich. Even got him a Nobel Prize.
I don’t really think you can fathom the depth of our reach and influence.
