March In Poland for an End to Anti Semitic Attacks

More than 100 people marched in a Polish city on Sunday to protest racist and anti-Semitic attacks in the area.

A small counter-demonstration also was held by people chanting nationalist slogans in the eastern city of Bialystok.

The “March of Unity,” which was organized by lawmakers from the governing Civic Platform party, walked in silence from the city center to a monument of Ludwik Zamenhof, a Jewish doctor born in Bialystok, who invented the Esperanto language. The protesters gathered signatures under a manifesto calling for an end to a “wave of thoughtless hatred.”

On Wednesday, a monument to hundreds of Jews who were burned alive by their Polish neighbors in Jedwabne village during World War II was desecrated. Vandals used green paint to spray a swastika and “SS” – the name of special Nazi German force – on the monument, along with the hostile phrases of “I don’t apologize for Jedwabne“ and ”They were flammable.”

Other recent anti-Semitic or racist attacks in Poland have targeted a synagogue in the village of Orla, a Muslim center in Bialystok, and the Lithuanian minority in the Punsk region.

Bialystok Mayor Tadeusz Truskolaski, nonaligned Sen. Wlodzimierz Cimoszewicz and other lawmakers led the protest march.

It occurred without violence or arrests, despite the counter-demonstration.

    I am glad they march happened, but they should have been able to get more than 100 people to march. They should make it an annual or even monthly event. Someone in that country needs to stand for their principles on a regular basis.

    Well, I say good for them but 100 marchers do not a support protest make. I mean couldn’t they find 400 or 1000 Poles in a country of millions? Sounds like a Polish Idea of a parade.

    Can there be any truth to why the whole world hates the jews? I’m just asking. We know Europe hates the jews. This little gathering of 100 people is nice but Poland along with every other European country hates jews. The Middle East hates the jews. Russia and the former satellite countries hate the jews. Just ask the oligarchs that Putin has put in jail. Africa probably hates the jews the most. South America…hmm…just ask Chavez what he thinks. So, it comes down to America, which is run by jews and everybody knows it’s true, doesn‘t like it but just don’t want to admit it. So why is there such hatred? I mean can the whole world be wrong and don’t bring up Germany and the Nazis. The nazis were psychopathic killers. But why does everybody seem to hate the jews. I went to school with many jewish people and didn’t have problems with any of them. I just don’t get it though. Can there be something that I’m missing that the whole world seems to see. Maybe they are effin aholes…is it because they call themselves “the chosen people” which I can see upsetting people. Do jews really think they’re better then the rest of the world?

      Your last comment sums up why you along with the world hates the Jews. The ugliest of primal emotions–ENVY. You should transform that envy into admiration, for without them you would not have the vaccines, technologies, and standards of living you enjoy. They are a fraction of 1% if the population, but win over 33% if Nobel Prizes. They are leaders in nearly every field that requires intelligence–law, medicine, business. They started Hollywood, Las Vegas, and reign supreme on Wall Street. Over 20% of the Supreme Court are Jews. Our entertainment icons are largely Jewish including Kirk, Spock, The Fonz, KISS, and many more. You should aspire and admire their achievement instead of being such a jealous hater.

      Jews are God’s chosen people. It is absolutely Biblical. But the Bible also states in Romans 9 that not all born of Israel are of Israel. It will be only those Spirit led people. The Bible says that the their eyes will be opened to the fact that Jesus/Yashua is the Messiah that they had always waited for after the full number of gentiles come in. Gentiles are adopted believers in Yashua and are of the wild olive branches, not the true vine. There is to be a war in Israel where every nation will war against her, then Yeshua saves them, therby fullfilling their prophesy of how the Messiah will come. There will be only a remnant left of them. I believe that the world doesn’t like them because of arrogance maybe, and then of course there are evil ones like the atheist George Soros. There are too many to number of them in Hollywood and in financial institutions. But God commands us to stand with the nation of Israel, and we must do what God commands. They after all… are….His chosen people.

    He went to Auschwitz and it will be on GBTV.
    All one has to do is google or yahoo. Or GBTV.
    I STAND WITH ISRAEL and for those who don’t get it the Jewish heritage (Old Testament)
    is the foundation for we Christians (New Testament) which both were the foundation for the
    Constitution. The New Testament first page their ancestry.com so to speak.
    And yes they are in trouble. So are we.
    Christians have been under attack for years and still are. So many who take our freedoms for
    granted are offended by Christianity yet the Constitution allows all religions.
    The Blaze Glenn named for the Burning Bush when Moses spoke with God and look at

    I notice that they don’t say WHICH city in POLAND had the rally .. but they say which city had the COUNTER PROTEST??? I would like to see the comparison of the populace.. while 100 might not seem like a lot it could well be.. and are they use to protesting in Poland?? sometimes the first protest is small.. but soon catches on.. I remember when I went to my first TEA party protest it was the LAST year of BUSH’S term.. while NO one noticed and the media ignored the 300 people in our area that were there the next year the protest more than tripled.. this could be just the start of something GOOD..

A Semite is not an ethnic issue, but a linguistic issue. Hebrew is a Semitic language, while Arabic is a Hamitic language. The Arabs are NOT Semites but Hamites. It is pure ignorance to lump these two absolutely different language groups together under the umbrella of Semites.

      Arabic absolutely is a Semitic language, very closely related to Hebrew. Salaam = Shalom, Allah = El, and so on. They are more closely related to one another than either is to the Hamitic languages, which include Coptic, Galla, Somali and others spoken in Africa. Hamitic and Semitic languages in turn are closer “cousins” to one another than either is to other Middle Eastern or African languages.

      It‘s a no brainer and I didn’t need either of those books or movies to know that.

      I knew Jewish kids in college and law school and the only difference I could detect between them and my Christian friends was that they almost universally worked harder. I remember saying in my Freshman year that I wished I were Jewish (not religiously, but ethnically) because I admired them so much.

    God bless the Poles. They know only too well what an empire bent on destroying not only Jews but themselves as well is capable of, and they have the scars and the infrastructure left behind in their nation to prove it (Auschwitz-Birkenau, Belzec, Chelmno, Majdanek, Sobibor and Treblinkato). Remember the Warsaw Ghetto? The Poles didn’t do that. It was that young Austrian guy over the border with his “final solution” who cooked that idea up. To the guy who said we are not like Europe, what did you mean exactly? Are you implying that we are not capable of anti-semetism in America? Really? We who are devout Christians love and respect our Jewish brothers and sisters, but it appears to me with the growing anti-zionist movement in America, that there are groups in America who aren’t exactly in love with the Jews-and that scares me to death.

This is a natural backlash.The Nazis have taken advantage of the backlash. They have one simple message for now, it is deport everyone who is foreign, especially muslims.       There probably would be more Poles marching, but I think most Poles feel that there nation has been a target of unfair criticism by the Left-wing media, including Left-wing Jews, but yet these media bigots are never accountable for the years of their anti-Polish hate propaganda. These Poles probably don’t want to be used by the media as some kind of political football to bash Poland.

      Its too bad nobody ever marches against anti-Polish media slander which has led to attacks on people of Polish ancestry worldwide.

      More likely they were kids who find power in acts like this. It happens to all kinds of cemetarys around the world and you only give them power by drawing too much attention to it. A little paint and it looks better, a few neighborhood kids threatened and you find out who did it pretty quickly.

    When you talk to friends who have been in the EU, or who are in the EU……you realize that Europe even now, is VERY different from the US.
    We are seeing a time of global economic downturn. Economic downturn does not bring out the best in people……..We’re going to have to be counted in THIS one!!!!! But then, we have already known that! :-)
