Morgan Stanley Exec Charged With Hate Crime for Allegedly Stabbing Cabbie

A 47-year old managing director with Morgan Stanley has been charged with a hate crime and second-degree assault for allegedly stabbing a cab driver in Darien, CT in December.

“Darien police charged William Bryan Jennings, 47, of Knollwood Lane, with second-degree assault, theft of services and second-degree intimidation based on race or bigotry,” John Nickerson of the Connecticut Post writes. “He was released after posting $9,500 bond and was to appear at court March 7. Jennings denied the allegations and through his attorney, Eugene Riccio, said he is the victim in the case.”

The cab driver made the complaint at about 12:30 a.m. Dec. 22, according to Lt. Ronald Bussell.

The cab driver says he drove Jennings from New York City to Darien, CT, about an hour and a half drive, and once they arrived at Jennings home, the fare total was $200. Jennings refused to pay and an intense argument broke out.

The driver said Jennings became abusive, threatening him and using racial slurs, Bussell said.

The driver decided that, rather than letting Jennings go, he would find a police officer to help settle the dispute. While searching for a nearby station, the driver says he rested his arm near the car’s partition and Jennings stabbed his hand with a penknife.

“In our view, it was Mr. Jennings who was the subject of an abduction, and should be the victim in this case, not the defendant. He was the subject of an abduction,” Riccio said.

What really happened, according to Jennings’s lawyer, was that the cab driver charged Jennings $300, the Morgan Stanley exec refused to pay, and the cab driver said he was going to drive him all the way back to New York City.

“Jennings was being whisked through the neighborhood while the cabbie ran stop signs and red lights, speeding toward the center of town,” Nickerson writes. “Riccio said Jennings pulled out a pen knife he uses for fishing and demanded to be let out of the car because he was afraid. On the Post Road, the cabbie tried to get the knife from Jennings and was cut while putting his hands through the window, Riccio said, adding that Jennings did not intend to hurt the driver.”

Once the cab stopped, Jennings escaped, his lawyer said. Jennings denies having used any “ethnically derogatory” language.

Riccio notes his client has been fully cooperative with the police.

“Jennings turned himself into police in Darien this week. He was released after posting $9,500 bail and is scheduled for a court appearance on March 9 at the Superior Court in Stamford, Connecticut,” Wall St. Cheat Sheet report.

“Morgan Stanley representative Pen Pendleton said that Jennings has been placed on leave.”

I read a story not long ago that they were installing cameras or had installed them. Can’t remember which. Never been to NYC, but if I ever go and use a cab, I will definitely not ride in one without a camera!

The insults? The first thing a black does to justify his wrong doing if it involves a white is to claim that he was the victim of a racial slur. They do that when they’re charged with unprovoked assault, too stupid to understand that even if it were true how in the hell could they be so dense as to expect name calling to justify brutal physical reprisal or armed assault. But it happens and it happens quite often.

The Darien police are in violation here!

A citizen of their town – was nearly abducted by a cabbie from NYC and he defended himself.

This is not good – and trust me – I’ll never go to Darien – their wacked out! People of Darien WAKE UP!

First of all NYC to Darien is sixty-four miles and especially at that time of night with little traffic it would not take more then 1 hour, MAX. In NYC there is a flat fare to JFK Airport (a 45 minute drive with no traffic) that is $ 45. So even if you doubled the airport fare to pay for the 60 minute trip to Darien, it would be $90 plus tip. I can understand the exec potentially agreeing to $200 because he would be compensating the cabbie for time lost on the return trip to NYC but $300 is obscene, literally highway robbery. I believe the driver is another lunatic NYC cab driver completely out of control, and the exec was lucky to get out of the car when he did. Hopefully justice will be served.

I think the 3rd world racist decided that he had a patsy in his cab. He had a rich white executive that would not give him any trouble if he extorted him or kidnapped him by driving all over until he paid the price he wanted. Anyway….the 3rd worlder knew he could always cry racism if things got out of hand. White people do NOT have equal rights and it is high time that we take them back and go to the streets.

It is getting to be that way….no matter what this man does, the politically correct are going to jump on the bandwagon. And the minute he refused to let this man out of the cab was the minute it became false imprisonment. He was at the man’s address—all he had to do is stay where he was at, call the police and at least have witness to the dispute. Sure, there are two sides to every story—however, as I said, if he refused to let him out then drove around with him, it is false imprisonment. The police would have settled the “theft” issue had it been the case. As for “racial slurs”. B.S. Nothing ever happens when someone calls me a white b, it’s free speech. And if he did, calling him names is not a crime. If he stabbed him and not out of self defense, it is assault, not racially motivated. So called racially motivated crimes are nothing more than a device by which to afford Democratic voters special protections to ensure they vote for the left each and every time. Little do they know that in the end, they will be as miserable as the rest of us because they were simply used as a tool in the “ends justify the means” method. What that means in Saul Alinsky terms has nothing to do with protection of certain groups of people—it means division based on race, religion, ethnicity, etc in order to divide and conquer. We are no longer a nation of equal protection and it is extremely scary.

Don’t ride in a cab with anyone who has “hate” crime protection. YOU will automatically be considered guilty because all they have to do is yell hate crime and you’ll be arrested. WE ARE SO DAMN STUPID in this country. A crime is a crime regardless of any other consideration or motivation.

I object to this story. They include a picture of Mr. Jennings, but not of the cab driver. They include the name of Mr. Jennings, but not the name of the cab driver. I can conclude that the driver is a protected species and is covered by PC police. If your going to post a story, use all of the facts and quit trying to direct peoples opinions with one sided facts and omitting necessary information. Your just promoting Obama’s agenda. A white atheist was attacked by a Muslim in central Pennsylvania and the Muslim judge threw out the case on sharia grounds. The Muslim man attacked the atheist because the atheist was lampooning Islam while his friend was lampooning Christianity. The attack was a crime. It was a hate crime, based on religion. No punishment.

Here, the white man is accused of a hate crime based on what the cabbie and only the cabbie said (despite contrary testimony from the passenger) and it is up to him, the passenger, to prove his innocence because the hate crime multiplier has already been imposed by his local jurisdiction, taking the word of the New York City cabbie over that of the local resident.

Welcome to the United States of Sharia.

No it isn’t a hate crime, after all those rich people are evil. And the “occupiers” are all helpless and they don’t have the ability to work. At least that is what the liberals, unions, and democrats are saying. Plus, didn’t Eric Holder basically say that only white people can be charged with “hate crimes”?

“the driver says he rested his arm near the car’s partition and Jennings stabbed his hand with a penknife.”

      OR

..”Jennings pulled out a pen knife he uses for fishing and demanded to be let out of the car because he was afraid. On the Post Road, the cabbie tried to get the knife from Jennings and was cut while putting his hands through the window, Riccio said, adding that Jennings did not intend to hurt the driver.”

So, in a hostile situation, why would the cabbie have the window open? And why would he be resting his arm up there?

The cabbie was abducting the guy at least to a phone or station to enforce payment and running up the fare while driving.

Morgan Stanley, what a bunch a weinies…putting the guy on leave.

Racial slurs? Name calling somebody who is attempting extortion, kidnapping, and dumb enough “to rest” his apparently very short arm getting his hand stabbed because isn’t the window in the middle?

Where were the cell phones? Why didn’t the executive record it or the cabbie? What about street or store cameras?

Why didn’t the cabbie stop the car, not imprison the guy, and call the cops to the location?

I am siding with the executive!

Better yet, what if was somebody of the same race making the same racial slur or even a white guy sitting back there singing a rap song littered with racial slurs, obsenities, and even threats, would these be a crime?

Hey, if the white guy was to sing one of those songs at the same time as somebody of the songs racial content is co-incidentally doing something criminal, then, is it a hate crime or a musical? Westside Story?

Just wondering if this could be a way to say (sing) something without the heavy criminal charge?

C’mon, just thinking of that 47 yrold rapping from the back seat could be at the very least funny or so awful the cabbie would have released him for the sake of art.
