Mosque, Hindu Worship Center Among Multiple NYC Sites Attacked With Molotov Cocktails

Following incidents of anti-Semitic vandalism this year, there may now be a new set of religious attacks taking place in New York City. On Sunday night, about 80 worshippers were inside the Imam Al-Khoei Foundation when a molotov cocktail was thrown at the building.

The attack on the Queens-based mosque has been condemned by the Council on American-Islamic Relations and New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo. The governor said the attacks “go against everything we stand for as New Yorkers and Americans.” Oddly, the incident — which is being investigated as a “bias crime” — was only one in a series of potentially-related firebomb assaults.

In addition to attacking the mosque, perpetrators also threw molotov cocktails made from Starbucks bottles at a bodega counter owned by Muslims. After the attack on the counter (the first in the series), a home went up in flames. CBS News has more about this potential act of arson:

It took firefighters 40 minutes to bring the blaze under control but the home suffered serious damage and was a total loss, officials said.

Police say this second attack may not be related to the others because the homeowners were African-American and Christian, but a connection is still being investigated.

Additionally, another house used for Hindu worship was attacked, though the two bottles thrown at it didn’t explode. The string of possible anti-faith actions occurred between 8:00 p.m. and 10:14 p.m.

Police are currently investigating whether these attacks are related, as they seek out the perpetrator or perpetrators behind them.

You all are ignorant. Every crime committed against a Black person isn’t committed by another Black person. And judging from what I see in the news, it‘s mostly WHITE people who have a problem with anyone who is’t a white Christian. Religious persecution is wrong, including when it is done by Christians.

      Dear Hogtrashhd,
Sounds like you need peace. Are you speaking the truth to “guarantee” a race is innocent or guilty? Nothing good comes from what you are telling yourself. Holding inside what is evil will destroy you. Like cancer it grows. Lucky for you and me the Holy Spirit can fix what you see inside. The question to ask yourself is “am I blind?”. If you aren’t blind I will be praying,

Well, that’s a dead give away that it was a radical,lefty- progressive.

BTW, I love how Church burnings are pushed off to the side and looked at as “they deserve it”. This happens to a Mosque and all of the sudden it is a dangerous, hate crime that needs immediate investigation. I am beyond fed up with these lying, hypocritical, misleading commies!

When was a church burning “pushed off” to the side? When exactly did that happen?

This is being pursued as a “bias crime” just like those statues in NY that the blaze loved to report on – http://www.theblaze.com/stories/hate-crimes-nativity-scenes-christian-statues-desecrated-in-yonkers-ny/

Stop deluding yourself and face reality. Despite conservative news sources trying to develop a “culture war” to exploit for political ends, Christian persecution is not a widespread or accepted practice in this country.

      @ed,

Did you know close to 1000 Church burnings in in a four year period. How many have you heard of?

From the article:”In fact, church burnings are common. The nation sees 15 to 20 church arsons a month, scattered from Florida to California.”

Wow, have you heard of these? Why not?

BTW, ABC news did something 10-15 years ago about only “Black Churches” being burned. There were some, but there were many more “white” Churches burned. The black Churches were immediately labeled as “hate crimes” where the White Churches were not labeled as anything other than a fire. You buy into the media? Here is one link of many:

All planned to cause anger and disruption. ( similar to the Roll comments on the Blaze ) Democrat “controlled” cities . Endless Occupies. Tell you something ? Enrico you must be new to this website. This is an anti-Muslim website, one that promotes the idea that Muslims, all Muslims, the million in the United States and the billion on earth (a quarter of the world’s population) are evil people – all of them, every last one – who have only the goal of killing Christians and Americans. You’d find it almost impossible to find an American Muslim who has attacked an American in the name of Islam. I can think of two instances but I can think of a lot more Christians killing others in the name of Christianity (abortion clinic bombers for example).

Certainly the average person doesn’t agree with the idea of burning a church or mosque. But here, where all Muslims are evil? I‘m not so sure you’d find many who agree with you.

      Charleyrocks.

I am a muslim and a fellow blazer and I fully condemn every terrorist attack and organization (Hamas, Hezbollah, Iran, Taliban, Al-Qaeda, and all others).

I am a conservative muslim and first and foremost an American.

I feel proud to be an American. I agree with many of the Blaze’s positions. I too support Israel in its hopes of finding a secure palestinian state that doesn’t compromise the security of Israel. I, however, don’t support muslim-bashing. By muslim-bashing, I don’t mean things that are justified facts. If you want to say the muslim ayatollahs are intent on killing us all, please go ahead. But don’t say, all those muslims should just pick up and leave. or all those muslims are terrorists. Or other things like that.

Finally, to support my argument against muslim-bashing.

Corinthians 10:31-32 “Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, orwhatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God. Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God:”

Luke 9:52-56: “…they did not receive him…And when his disciples James and John saw this, they said, Lord, wilt thou that we command fire to come down from heaven, and consume them, even as Elias did? But he turned, and rebuked them, and said, Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of. For the Son of man is not come to destroy men’s lives, but to save them. And they went to another village.”

THIS IS WRONG – just because Muslims are burning churches in Egypt, Nigeria, Kenya, Afganistan (all of them) and every Islamic country, does not mean we should do the same.

However, we should tell them to obey our laws, learn to be Americans or leave.

Muslim behavior and attitudes (jihad, taqqiya (lying), violence, rape, honor killing, stoning, racial hatred of Jews and Christians, bullying, demands, subjection and mutilation of women, intolerance, injustice, Sharia law, blasphemy laws, apostasy killings, lashings, pedophilia, s-x abuse, trafficking, slavery, etc.) are NOT going to be part of US society.

Even then, Islam is like a plague or cancer that could break out and take over at any time. It should be forbidden by international law or confined to Saudi Arabia and only then if anyone who wants to can leave the country and foul religion behind.

Jesus said, do not answer evil for evil. God will repay the muslims for their evil deeds wherever they are committed. Vengeance belongs to the LORD, the Bible says.

When the disciples wanted to call down fire from heaven on those who rejected Christ and the Gospel, Jesus said: “You do not know what spirit you are of.” (meaning evil spirits – Luke 9:55)

We must not become like our enemies and the enemy of our souls.

Violence and vandalism are never the answer.

Truth (the Word of God) and Love (conquers all) are the answer.

      Jesus said to
      1. Love,
      2. Do Good To,
      3. Pray For,
      4. Bless,
      5. Forgive

Most people have not made the connection between Greek philos-sophos doctrine (Sophists) and the quest to eliminate all other doctrine. Hegel’s Sophist students railed against all Hebrew based doctrine, wanting it completely eliminated (Bauer, Feuerbach and Sterner). The historical facts behind the 3rd reich’s elimination of Jews was directly related to the writings of these young Hegelians. Don’t forget that Socialism is simply a Theocracy of sophist based doctrine, specifically the Stoic version.
These activities could be gang related as a result of turf wars but more than likely these are all related to the same group of sophists who are behind OWS. There were cars set ablaze in LA and these buildings torched in NewYork, I would be willing to bet they are related. This is most likely the opening act of 2012 where the OWS and Anonymous are making a statement of what to expect in 2012. These folks are hell bent on assimilating the US to sophist doctrine, and at least one of its Theocracies (Socialism, Communism or Progressivism) and it appears they are keeping good on their promise.

They don’t want to make the connection because they want to blame it on a supposed Christian.
Instead of the anti-religion atheist that have been attacking all forms of religion tearing up churches and have been defecating on church alters etc.

@DAVE IN ARIZONA No, not really. Maybe both Christian and Jews. Most try to paint the picture that Christians are islamophobes and the largest religion in the US is Christian. My point is I would think they trying to attack ether one of our religions and more than like both or all.

I’m just going by the recent spring of crimes. Most of these type of crimes lately has been by anti-religion atheist.

Read comments for months in the New York Times by little American anarchists calling for “ revolution” in the streets of America. My best guess is that they are finally making their wishes come true. These comments started in earnest around the time of the fires/ London riots but before our Occupies. These guys have been planning and organizing this for months. If the FBI has any sense they’ll start with the comments/ originators of the comments in the NYT, the mouthpiece and megaphone for the International Lefties ….

Good thing he wasn’t a Muslim firebombing a Christian church.
If he was, he would have dragged the Christians out and cut off their heads.

It appears that it may be getting just too dangerous for mooslims here in this country. For their own safety, they all should quickly return from whatever country they immigrated from, or from where their parents or grand parents immigrated from.

Somebody’s trying to get some stuff stirred up. I have a couple ideas, but I’m waiting to see how this shakes out.

I agree. Something is brewing. These type of acts are wrong….no matter who or what the target is. I hope the perpetrators are caught, arrested and tried for their crimes.

Yep, that is what I’m thinking. It seems to me some is trying to stir the pot and get people to start pointing fingers. I wonder who would want religious people mad and/or mad at each other. Who would benefit from that, hmm?

This country is one spark away from complete breakdown. It won’t matter what type of spark…Religion, the economy, class warfare, terror attack, politics etc. We’re at the snapping point on all fronts.
