‘Most Americans Don’t See Color’: Beck Explains Why Spike Lee Is Wrong About Mitt Romney

On Wednesday evening, Glenn Beck discussed controversial film director Spike Lee’s recent declaration in “Vulture Magazine” (the title is not a joke) that African Americans won’t vote for Mitt Romney because he is too white, and is a Mormon.

Whether Americans re-elect a black man or elect a Mormon for the first time in history, Beck asked if either scenario is really all that historic, given that Americans no longer see color, race or creed — at least they shouldn‘t in today’s day and age.

A president vote, according to Beck, should be based on the person’s “character” and ability, not the color of his skin.

Born and raised in Utah… the entire civil rights movement was presented to us in gradeschool as a just cause and that America was in the process of correcting a wrong. I agreed with this and although I never even saw a black person in Utah until I was 18, I have to say that I honestly have no prejudice because of skin color.

On the other hand, it seems to me that a portion of the black community (not all… I have lots of black friends) are completely on-board with their feelings that whites hate blacks and you know what? It boils down to human nature and perspective; “some people just like being victims.”

Speak for yourselves hate-mongers! I laugh when I hear someone tell me I’m prejudice. You don’t offend me… I won’t give you that power, but you need to remove the long raspy object from your corn-cobb compartments and get a life.

OMW, you actually believe that stupid nonsense Social? I have been to your so called “rich” states that are democratically controlled. I think CA is one of them and didn’t I just read where some of their cities are disappearing because of financial ruin? And I do recall that debacle when hurricane Katrina hit in New Orleans. That was a pure mess caused by that Dem mayor and Gov at the time as well as a nanny state mentallity of the people of that city. I live in an area that was also affected by that storm and our Gov. had the people evacuated and the interstate turned into a one way all the way to Montgomery so we had plenty of space to travel out of the city and in plenty of time. And don‘t go saying it was Bush’s fault…that was the state of LA fault. Each state is responsible for it’s own evacuation plan and what to do in emergencies. I am sure they have revised their plan now. As for poor states, WV is one of the poorest and it is full democrat. Yes they voted for the republican last time out of concern for their industry, wouldn’t you? He said it that he would shut coal down. However look at their Governor and all their reps… Democrats. Been like that for years and years. Worst cities for crime..Detroit…full on Democrat. Chicago…Democrat. Highest costliest cities to live in…all democrat. I could go on but this is too long already.

I would agree. Having served in the military in the late seventies I learned that there are jerks of every color and ethnicity. Being white I KNOW that there are more white jerks than blacks, I would bet that the RATIO is the same. I work in a diverse industry (health care) and just today, got great help from a black lady, a Hawaiian man of Japanese descent and several Filipinos and a bunch of white folk. I am proud to work with them and absolutely would go to the mat for them. I also am aware of the urban inner city hate groups that claim victim status. I do think that IF they had a job and responsibilities to other humans they would begin to see the HUMAN in everyone and could ASSIMILATE into the greater society. It appears to me that they seek to remain segregated and with an agenda. Just sayin’.

Actually, Glenn, a huge segment sees color – they are called LIBERALS. Liberals believe they are superior to blacks – therefore blacks need their help and wouldn’t be able to get along without them. Same with hispanics, gays, etc. Liberals believe everyone else is racist because it is the liberal that sees everyone for their color – therefore everyone else must as well. This is why libs can’t understand how a black, hispanic, or gay could possibly be conservative, and when one becomes prominent, they trash him or her. Just ask Clarence Thomas or Allen West.

Romney whose only consistency is to change his political message depending on the polling data is one of the least principled men to ever run for office.
For Beck to tell us he is the best candidate after his self righteous spiel about principals if infuriating.

Despite the hypocrisy, we should all heed the advice.
If your principals include Free Markets, individual liberties, fiscal and monetary responsibility and Constitutional restraints on the Govt, then casting your vote for either Obama or Romney “who are in policy, mirror images” is selling out your principals for establishment bumper sticker rhetoric of pragmatic rationale.

I don’t have a problem, but it is funny how good friends that I have known for years can’t get past seeing race only with people.

I did challenge her to specify how or when I have ever been racist, her answer was, well you aren’t, but most white people are. So there again, a few others in the office asked, are we racist? Again, she said no one in the office, but she sees it in most white people she has met.
So it is never you, or the people around you, but it‘s all the other white people that aren’t in the room. Again, never a specific event, just a generalazation.

    I disagree.

I believe we were on the path to “not seeing color”…but the likes of Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Maxine Waters, Rev. Wright, the “new” black panther party…and on & on…has thrust their “color” in to the face of America’s white population.

They accuse, threaten, incite, lie…with every word they speak.

Would a natural born citizen of any middle east country, whose heart & soul calls them to believe in the christian faith, not SEE the fundamental islamics living around them?

How can we possibly “ignore color” when 24/7 we are exposed to their tired, hate filled rhetoric? Not from individuals around us, to be sure…but certainly from their chosen leaders…“chosen” as in they keep letting them talk, give them money and their votes.

Sorry, but I’m not prepared to stand still and be scourged and nailed to a cross, all the while thinking “They’ll soon stop. They’ll soon see that we are the same. Soon they’ll take me down and hug me upon seeing that I am a man…and not a “white man.”

Only an idyllic fool these days does not see color. That is why Spike Lee does not believe it when you say it. He knows it is not true. How? Because he and his buddies have worked tirelessly towards making SURE we see color. It is their goal. It propels them to the front of the crowd, builds them their soapbox, provides them with a mike…and gives them the POWER they crave.

We don’t see color? Who are we kidding?
